In September 2016 a 43-yr old Black Man was shot and killed in Charlotte, NC by a Black
Police Officer.

Charlotte Police Officials and Charlotte-Mecklenburg District Attorney Andrew Murray, state forensic video evidence shows Keith Lamont Scott brandishing a firearm prior to being shot and killed by CMPD.

However Mr Scott's widow and other witnesses state he was not holding a gun.

Nevertheless there will be no charges filed against the CMPD Officer who shot Mr Scott.

So do I believe the CMPD Officer who shot Mr Scott should be reprimanded because perhaps he acted too quickly in using DEADLY FORCE towards Mr Scott?

Yes!

Do I believe DEMOCRAT Leaders who are still angry DONALD TRUMP defeated HILLARY CLINTON on Nov 8th, election night are using RACISM to keep BLACK Voters stirred up and divided so that more BLACK people will be shot by the Police as a means of covering up something more sinister at the hands of ELITE DEMOCRAT Government leaders?

***** Attorneys for Keith Lamont Scott family own some blame for shooting protests

From Jerry Sennett, a retired deputy chief for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department who now lives in Stanley, N.C.:

The fatal shooting of Keith Lamont Scott was certainly tragic for both the Scott family and the police officers involved. No police officer who I ever worked with in my 30-year career with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department ever wanted to be in a position to have to use deadly force or take a life. Unfortunately those situations do occur and I am glad that the SBI investigation and the presentation to the public by District Attorney Andrew Murray cleared up the facts of this case. I hope CMPD and the citizens of Charlotte can move forward and repair some of the damage caused by this situation.

I do believe the Scott family attorneys bear some responsibility for the unrest that occurred following the shooting. They knew or should have known that the information being put out on social media by the family was incorrect. Mr. Scott was never shot with his hands up or while holding a book, did indeed purchase a stolen gun and was a convicted felon.

The attorneys consistently criticized CMPD and the City of Charlotte for not being transparent with the community. As officers of the court, they did nothing to diminish or to correct the misinformation that caused injuries and senseless destruction in the aftermath of the Scott shooting.

Police officers are held to higher standard. Maybe it is time the Scott family attorneys stop placing the blame on others and take responsibility for their actions and the outcome of this tragic situation.

***** Charlotte police chief weighs in DA’s Keith Lamont Scott decision

Charlotte’s Police Chief Kerr Putney says the ordeal surrounding the fatal shooting of Keith Lamont Scott this summer has been tough on his department and its officers.

Wednesday morning, the district attorney announced the officer involved in the shooting, Brentley Vinson, will not face criminal charges in the incident. Since then, there's been a hint of tension in the air. Protesters were already angry at the shooting. Now, some are furious at the decision not to charge the officer.

In a recent interview with WBTV, Putney addressed issues ranging from Officer Vinson’s return to work to the department’s pledge of more transparency.

“My focus is on this organization, this community and moving forward. We have a lot of healing to do. A lot of people are hurting," Putney said. "We have at least two families that have been devastated. We’re trying to pick up the pieces with our community and move forward.”

Putney said he has spoken with Vinson. He said the shooting hasn't been easy for the officer, despite being cleared.

"I wouldn’t categorize it as relief," Putney said. "Nobody puts on this uniform and comes to work any day of the week expecting to take a life. That’s not what we’re here for. It’s not what we’re about."

The chief said Vinson isn't back on the job yet.

"The internal investigation has to run its course then we can talk about how he returns to work."

Murray Wins DA Race; Bailey Re-elected Sheriff


Many of the races in Mecklenburg County were very close on Tuesday night.

For the first time in over 30 years, Mecklenburg County will have a new district attorney, Republican Andrew Murray.

Murray earned nearly 10,000 more votes than Michael D. Barnes, winning 52 percent to 48 percent.

Murray says as district attorney, his major concern will be combating repeat criminals.

"Making sure that we continue to identify those who continue to plague our society and try to keep them in jail as best we can," Murray said. "That's a team that I will construct immediately that is going to work hard assimilating all information as soon as someone is arrested, identifying those we don't want out because of the crime and their background and making sure we have all information available."

Meanwhile, the race for Mecklenburg County Sheriff ran close until about midnight when Democrat Chipp Bailey took the lead over Republican Christopher R. Hailey, winning 62 percent to 38 percent.

Where are the jobs?

It's the question Americans are still asking more than 20 months after President Obama signed the "Stimulus" amid promises it would create jobs "immediately" and keep unemployment below 8%. Instead, millions more have lost their jobs, and unemployment has topped 9.5% for 14 months in a row, the longest such stretch since the Great Depression.

Now, after adding more than $3 trillion to our national debt — often in the name of job creation that has failed to materialize, President Obama and Democrats in Washington want to raise taxes on families and small businesses. Between burdensome mandates, permanent bailouts and government takeovers, hasn't Washington already done enough to make it harder for employers and entrepreneurs to create jobs?

Americans are speaking out and demanding a new way forward in Washington.

Republicans have listened and outlined a new governing agenda in the form of a Pledge to America focused on creating jobs, cutting spending and changing the way Washington does business.


A Smaller Government




At the core of the Pledge is an idea Washington just hasn't tried before — that the path to recovery lies in making government smaller instead of making it bigger. To jump-start job creation, the economic uncertainty gripping small businesses has to be eliminated, and the spending binge in Washington has to be stopped.

The Pledge puts forth a clear plan to end the current uncertainty, starting with stopping all looming tax hikes so that small businesses can get back to creating jobs. This is followed by a blueprint for fiscal sanity that begins with cutting spending to pre-"stimulus," pre-bailout levels, a move that will save taxpayers $100 billion in the first year alone.

This won't be easy, and if we are truly serious about delivering a smaller, less costly, and more accountable government, Washington will have to change how it thinks and how it does business. That's why the Pledge puts forth a plan to reform Congress and restore public trust. It starts with requiring lawmakers to do their jobs, read the bills, and ensure that all legislation contains clear citations of constitutional authority.

Obama Stays The Course

For his part, President Obama shows no signs of listening to the people and recognizing the need to change course. In recent months, he has proposed more "stimulus" spending, told union audiences he would "keep fighting" for the controversial "card check" bill that would eliminate workers' right to a secret ballot, and signaled he would launch a new push for a job-killing cap-and-trade national energy tax.

The White House is also plotting ways to use the president's "ample regulatory powers" to protect the most unpopular and unaffordable parts of his agenda, including the government takeover of health care that has failed to lower costs as promised. In fact, the Obama administration's own chief actuary for Medicare and Medicaid says the new health care law will raise costs. And millions of Americans are about to be forced out of their health care plans. That's why Republicans' Pledge to America includes a plan to repeal the job-killing health care law and replace it with common-sense reforms focused on lowering costs and protecting American jobs.

Our nation is facing immense challenges. Nearly one in 10 Americans is out of work. We are borrowing 37 cents of every dollar we spend from our kids and grandkids. Americans have record-low confidence in their Congress.

We just can't afford another two years like the past two. With the Pledge to America, Republicans are offering better solutions and a new approach to getting our economy, our government and our country back on track.

Andrew Murray Right Choice For New Charlotte D.A.

Murray Is Best Choice For Charlotte's New District Attorney: Decision 2010


Come Jan. 1, Mecklenburg County will have its first new district attorney since Peter Gilchrist took the job in 1975. He has been re-elected eight times since then without facing an opponent.

Two candidates, Republican Andrew Murray and Democrat Michael Barnes, are both campaigning with a "get tough and lock 'em up" theme, although they tout some different proposals for precisely how they'd do that. Though we understand that campaigning requires rhetoric, we wish we had also heard more about the need for justice, which sometimes means prison and sometimes doesn't. But such is politics.

Barnes is the City Council member from District 4 in northeast Charlotte. Elected in 2005, he has been a good representative - attentive to his district, a quick study on issues and displaying a welcome independent streak. Although he has done some criminal legal work in his small law practice, most of his work in recent years has been civil law.

He's pitching the idea of instituting "Community Prosecution" in the DA's office - assigning Prosecutors to work with specific police districts.

He's also a strong advocate for finding money for more up-to-date technology for the office and says he could use his relationships with the City Council and N.C. Gov. Bev Perdue's office to win more money for the DA. Most everyone agrees on the need for better technology and more funds. But what's far less clear is whether Barnes would do any better than Gilchrist has or Murray would on that score, especially as state government reels from revenue shortfalls.

We like Barnes' energy, independent streak and recognition that, yes, political skills are a good tool for winning support for the DA's office from elected officials and from the public.

But we think Andrew Murray is the better choice. Murray is smart and well-respected and has a key advantage: He has worked four years as an assistant district attorney and 14 years since then as a criminal lawyer at a local firm, where he is managing partner.

Murray has spent 29 years in the Coast Guard and is a commander in the Reserves, where he leads a 250 reserve-member unit. In fact, he lost weeks of campaign time last summer when he was called to duty on the Gulf Coast to work on cleanup efforts from the BP oil spill.

In a perfect world, the next district attorney would have a lot on his or her resume: unassailable integrity, proven expertise in criminal practice, experience managing a large staff, political savvy to reassure voters that criminals won't go free and strong working relationships with police, judges and local and state officials. Neither candidate brings that perfect resume.

The Mecklenburg DA, heading a staff of 140, needs strong administrative skills for hiring and firing, mentoring and managing some 80 assistant district attorneys, many just starting their legal careers. And while the next DA won't be spending most of his time in courtrooms, in order to run the office well and make the best use of the staff, he should have more criminal law experience than Barnes has.

Murray's experience gives him an advantage in understanding the needs and challenges of the criminal justice system. He has made clear that while he admires Gilchrist, he won't be a clone. Like Barnes, he has good ideas for reorganizing some of the DA's operations to work more efficiently with the police and the courts, such as using the habitual offender tool more effectively to get repeat offenders off the streets.

We recommend Andrew Murray for Charlotte-Mecklenburg district attorney.

Obama Supporters From 2008 Now Voting GOP: No Jobs!!

President Barack Obama's winning coalition from 2008 has crumbled and his core backers are dispirited. It's now Republicans who stand to benefit from an electorate that's again craving change.

Nearly two years after putting Obama in the White House, one-quarter of those who voted for the Democrat are defecting to the GOP or considering voting against the party in power this fall. Just half of them say they definitely will show up Nov. 2, according to an Associated Press-Knowledge Networks Poll released two weeks before Obama's first midterm elections.

Yet in a reflection of broad dissatisfaction with politics, just as many people who backed Republican presidential nominee John McCain are either supporting Democrats now or still considering how to vote.

Still, McCain voters — to borrow Obama's campaign rallying cry — are far more "fired up, ready to go." Two-thirds say they are certain to vote next month.

It's a wide enthusiasm gap that's buoying Republicans, who are poised for big electoral gains, and worrying Democrats, who are seeking to hang onto majorities in Congress as well among governors. Obama's party hopes its superior get-out-the-vote operation, updated from his groundbreaking campaign, can overcome Republicans' energized supporters to mitigate expected losses across the board.

While no president can be expected to fully rally his supporters when he's not on the ballot, the survey illustrates the wide scope of Obama voters' disappointment with the president and his policies almost halfway through his first term — and two years before he's likely to seek their backing again.



To find out how the electorate's political views have changed since the 2008 election, the AP and Knowledge Networks re-interviewed the same 1,254 people who were part of a random sample of Americans surveyed up to 11 times throughout the 2008 campaign by the two organizations and Yahoo News. The recent interviews occurred Sept. 17 to Oct. 7. The survey has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 4.4 percentage points.

Charlotte's Crime/ Murder Rate Continues To Climb Higher & Higher & Higher....

Overnight Murder Is Charlotte's Fifth Homicide In Five Days


Charlotte's soaring Homicide rate grew again Thursday night with the shooting death of a man on the northwest side of the city.

It was the fifth Homicide in five days, and it increased Charlotte's Homicide total to 28 for the year. That is about double the total of last year at this time.

On Thursday afternoon, police identified the man as Jermain Marque McJunkin, 23.

As has been the case with most recent killings, police say McJunkin's death was not a random act of violence.

And the shooting apparently touched off several fights at the crime scene.

Police were called shortly before 11 p.m. to the West Down Apartments, in the 300 block of Mattoon Street, off Beatties Ford Road. Police say they were called to deal with an assault with a deadly weapon, but they arrived to find McJunkin dead near the street.

Officers spent much of the night questioning several witnesses, and they indicated McJunkin apparently knew his attackers.

WBTV video coverage of the investigation showed several apparent fights that broke out after the shooting. WBTV also is reporting that the fights involved members of two families who were upset about the killing.

Mattoon Street and nearby streets on the other side of the Brookshire Freeway have been the scene of several gang-related shootings in recent years, and police have been working with Community Leaders to help curb gang activity in the area.







Charlotte-Mecklenburg Sheriff: Crime Could Go Up Because Of Harsh Budget Cuts


Anticipated budget cuts could eliminate three programs at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office that are meant to keep you safe.

Sheriff Chipp Bailey says he has $7.4 million less to work with this year compared to last year under the county's current budget scenario.

On Tuesday, 51 sheriff's office employees received reduction in force notices, or pink slips.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg County's Work Release and Restitution program is expected to be eliminated.

On a typical day, 80 to 100 people work by day, or look for work, and spend the night at work release where they're tested for drugs and alcohol.

"It accomplishes lifestyle changes for these individuals," said Bailey.

Bailey says offender recidivism rates for people in work release could go up with the program gone. Right now, Bailey says that rate is 32 percent for people in work release compared to 70 percent for offenders in jail not getting help.

Bailey also expects to pull the plug on electronic monitoring under next year's current budget proposal. The sheriff's office currently has 67 very low-risk offenders wearing ankle bracelets.

Now, Bailey is asking Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department to take it over. If that doesn't happen, those offenders could end up back in jail.

Bailey says, overall, it is possible crime could go up, especially if less money means fewer punishment options.

"In the long run, if people sit in jail and aren't provided treatment programs and educational programs and those kinds of things, then they are going to turn to what they know and they're going to survive. And if surviving means committing crime, then that's what they are going to do," Bailey said.

The third program eliminated under the budget scenario would be the work crew -- inmates that clean up roads, parks and school yards -- because the deputies who watch them have been let go.

Chris Swecker Endorses Andrew Murray For Charlotte's 2010 D.A. Race


On Feb. 26th of this year Former FBI Assistant Director Chris Swecker (Washington, DC) threw his excellent reputation behind Charlotte D.A. candidate and prominent Criminal Attorney Andrew Murray, by endorsing Murray's campaign.

Since Charlotte's local media organizations intentionally ignored this important news, I have taken it upon myself to alert Charlotte citizens of this crucial information.

Initially Mr. Swecker pondered running for this office but after careful consideration decided it was in the best of Charlotte citizens and Voters to fully support Mr. Murray.

Mr. Swecker is now employed as a Corporate Attorney specializing in Financial Crimes.

Mr. Murray a Republican, states he is humbled by Mr. Swecker's endorsement.

Andrew Murray has also received endorsements from former Charlotte Mayor & Attorney Richard Vinroot, former Charlotte City Council member & Mayoral Candidate, Attorney John Lassiter and Black Political Buzz Blog.

Mr. Murray's Democrat opponent in the Charlotte D.A.'s race is current Charlotte City Council member and Attorney Michael Barnes.

I urge Charlotte Voters to please cast their ballots intelligently and responsibly in this Fall's general elections.

Please don't let the Charlotte Observer (community nickname: "Charlotte Disturber") sway you or tell you whom to support in political races.

Remember last year when the Observer endorsed Anthony Foxx?

Well now look at Charlotte's high Crime rate!

Instead of voting for someone based upon Racism or Racial "guilt trips", look at each candidate's unique Qualifications and EXPERIENCE.

Upon doing so assess what each candidate will bring to the table to help improve Charlotte's Public Safety overall.

Its time to stop playing Partisan Political games and do what's best for ALL Charlotte-Mecklenburg residents regardless of their age, ethnicity or socio-economic status.

Charlotte's Pre-Trial Release Program Under Attack, No New Jails!

Charlotte's Pre-Trial Release programs are under major attack!

Its all about Racial Discrimination & Federal Dollars (again) disguised as "Controlling Costs".

I want to be clear that in the state of North Carolina these type of racially-sensitive issues are not solely Democrat or Republican problems because both Political parties practice extreme Racism on a regular basis.

Which is why I'm no longer a Loyalist to either party.

Looks like some Charlotte Officials and Political Candidates are trying to do away with Charlotte-Mecklenburg's Pre-Trial Release program as an excuse to build New Jails.

What is a Pre-Trial Release program you ask?

I'll be happy to explain.

(This information was obtained from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg's Sheriff Dept. and Charlotte's Neighbors For a Safer Charlotte organization.)


The Charlotte-Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office Pre-Trial Release Program - Risk Assessment /Case Management is designed to identify those arrested individuals who can safely be released on their own recognizance or to the supervision of a third party custodian prior to their first scheduled court appearance.

After a security screening, medical screening, fingerprinting, and photographing, the paperwork involving the individual is organized in one packet and the individual is presented to the magistrate for action to be taken upon the case.

After seeing the magistrate the person is afforded the option of securing his or her release through the County Court Services Division.

Once done with court services, the individual is afforded time to secure release if bond conditions permit this.

If the individual cannot make bond or has a "No Bond" condition, he or she is "dressed-out" and "classified" according to their charge, medical circumstances, risk, and or other criteria to be housed in one of the county facilities.

If Charlotte Officials decide to build New Jails who will be housed in those units?

That's right African-Americans and Hispanic citizens!

Caucasian Criminal Offenders will STILL be allowed to walk away Free or released on Low Bonds, while Minorities are imprisoned until their Trial dates.

What's the purpose of this "Eliminate Charlotte's Pre-Trial Release" campaign?

To procure more Federal Dollars and lock up more Minority Youth.

You see due to Charlotte's Racist history many Charlotteans, especially Caucasian citizens think the ONLY way to bring down Crime is to just lock up ALL Blacks & Hispanics, regardless of the offense....FOREVER!

Yet these same people will continue to offer Charlotte's White Criminal Offenders "Deals" & lower Bonds for having committed the SAME types of Crimes.

Nope!

I'm NOT down with eliminating Charlotte's Pre-Trial Release program. Yet.

Please don't give me that sorry argument about the program's "Cost".

According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Sheriff Dept. staff it cost $3.00 per day for Offenders to participate in the Pre-Trial program versus $100. per day to lock them up.

So how will cutting this program help control Charlotte's Law Enforcement budget as it relates to eliminating waste?

It won't!

I repeat!

This is all about locking up more Blacks & Hispanics and building new jails.

Charlotte Officials and Political Candidates if you want me to support eliminating Charlotte's Pre-Trial Release program and building New Jails, you need to prove that Black Offenders and White Offenders will receive Fair or Identical treatment when allegedly committing the SAME crimes.

You also need to demonstrate that Charlotte's District Attorney's Office will NOT continue down the same path of Discriminating against Criminal Offenders based on their Ethnicity or National Origin.

Charlotte's Pretrial Release Program: Can We Afford It?



An electronic kiosk is a key part of the Mecklenburg County Pretrial release program. It's where accused criminals show up about once a month to place their hand on the reader and "check in" with their case manager.

On any given day the county lets 1,900 people out of jail for free before their trial because they don't think they're dangerous or a flight risk. Being in the program costs $3 a day versus the more than $100 to keep each defendant in jail.

Attorney Brad Smith's been studying the $1.7 million dollar program in depth for the past year. He says, "I think it's a bad use of tax payer dollars considering the economic climate, considering the cuts the county is going to be forced to make in the next couple of months."

Smith says too many people are admitted into the program and that the check-in system, which in addition to the kiosk can include weekly phone calls, is bogus. He says, "I don't know how a phone call once a week does anything about ensuring somebody appears in court."

Jessica Ireland has headed up the program for the past year and says it does work. 87% of the program participants show up for their court appointments. She also says participants are carefully selected. "Anything involving a death, use of a fire arm, high level drug charges, all of those are excluded from pretrial consideration,” says Ireland.

We found several people with violent records are also part of the program. "I think there's people that are slipping through the cracks and are getting out on it,” says Smith.

County commissioner Harold Cogdell is on the public safety committee. He says while the program isn't perfect, it is necessary. "We simply don't have the jail space to house individuals that don't have the financial means to be able to post a bond pending their court date,” says Cogdell.

So how do you fix the program? Smith suggests scaling it back and making sure people who are in it really need to be and have very minor offenses on their record. As it stands, he says, "We've basically inserted the tax payer dollar into every single facet of the criminal justice system."

Last year, the county paid a consultant $81,000 dollars to review the program. She gave them two suggestions. So far, neither has been implemented, although FOX Charlotte is told leaders are working on it.






Charlotte-Mecklenburg Sheriff Predicts Program Cuts With Budget Shortfall


The Charlotte-Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office predicts it will have to cut three programs due to the county's budget shortfall.

Sheriff Chipp Bailey says he'll cut non-mandatory areas, including courthouse security and the work release program at the jail, which trains inmates to get and keep a job.

Bailey says the percentage of inmates in the work program who become repeat offenders drops from 70 percent to 32 percent.

Also at risk for cuts is substance abuse and domestic violence counseling for inmates and the high school program for juveniles.

"If they are not in high school then they're going to drop out of school and become criminals more so than they are now," Bailey said.

Bailey says cutting those programs will only save $5.6 million. The Mecklenburg County Commission has projected it will cut $9 million from the department's funding.

North Carolina's Best Picks For November 2010 Elections

For those of you questioning why I've decided to endorse 3 Black Democrat Candidates and 5 Republicans (including 1 Black Republican) for this November's 2010 elections, I'll be happy to explain why.

The 8 candidates I'm casting my vote for or asking other North Carolina Voters to support have earned my TRUST because they really appear to care about their Constituents.

I was initially NOT going to vote for any Democrats however Nancy Shakir who has lived in Newark, NJ

Harold Cogdell currently serving on the Charlotte-Mecklenburg County Board of Commissioners and...

Vilma Leake also currently serving on the Charlotte-Mecklenburg County Board of Commissioners, have proven in one way or another they have what it takes to fairly represent their Constituents.

Are Nancy Shakir, Harold Cogdell and Vilma Leake perfect?

No but neither are any Republican political candidates.

Only God is perfect but at least these 3 Democrat candidates are Bold enough to speak up in the face of Injustice.

Nancy Shakir, Harold Cogdell & Vilma Leake have all overcome Adversity and reached back to help others who are less fortunate.

I would rather vote for a Black Democrat who is Bold enough to question the Status Quo and try to enact change for others who are hurting, than a Black Democrat Politician who is nothing more than a Scared Token looking out for just themselves.

Why didn't I mention Incumbent, U.S. Congressman Mel Watt?

Mel is no longer effective and he's on his way out that's why.

For the record Gerrymandered Districts were established to ensure Black Voters were properly and legally represented in Congress per the U.S. Constitution.

However Gerrymandered Districts were NOT created to keep in Public Office Black Politicians who have a personal desire to become Wealthy at the expense of Low Income/ Middle Class Black and Hispanic Voters.

As it relates to my voting for and supporting Republicans Richard Burr, William Gillenwater, Andrew Murray, Darryl Broome and Jim Pendergraph, there is no doubt in my mind these 5 Stable Candidates will FIGHT for what's right to represent their Constituents.

These 5 individuals will also provide a healthy balance to North Carolina's Political landscape.

I am a FREE, Legal American citizen who can vote for anyone I want to.

I've NEVER voted Straight Ticket for any Political Party and I NEVER will!

Furthermore I don't vote along party lines for "Loyalty" sake.

Instead I cast votes according to each candidates' stand on Issues which affect my personal life.

I also vote for candidates who Strongly CARE about others, versus just their family and friends.

Democrats have ruled North Carolina for 130 years.

The result?

A state running over with Political Corruption, Public Corruption, Racially Segregated Public Schools and Black Foster Care Children being Mistreated.

What's wrong with School Choice, Charter Schools or Private Schools?

Enough is Enough!

Actually I'm referring to Low Income & Middle Class Black Voters more so than Wealthier Constituents.
