POLITICAL CORRECTNESS STRENGTHENS ISIL (EXPOSING RADICAL ISLAM)

POLITICAL CORRECTNESS STRENGTHENS ISIL, EXPOSING RADICAL ISLAM

WHY ARE CNN & NBC MEDIA NETWORKS AFRAID TO SAY "RADICAL ISLAM" ON AIR?

REFUSING TO IDENTIFY RADICAL ISLAM HARMS PEACEFUL, DEDICATED MUSLIMS.

Sources: Forbes, ABC News, YouTube

According to Webster's dictionary the term "Political Correctness" is defined as agreeing with the idea that people should be careful to not use language or behave in a way that could offend a particular group of people.

From 2008 to 2016, under the OBAMA Administration it is a crime to mention the words "Radical Islam" when talking about Terrorist acts at the hands of Radicalized Muslims such as members of ISIL.

The ideology of Radical Islam is not based on the Islamic faith, instead it is a Political concept used to intimidate and control for the purpose of Money and Power.

Most REAL Muslims frequently condemn the evil, brutal acts of ISIL, however Pres OBAMA's Administration forbids mainstream media networks from saying the words "Radical Islam" while on air.

Thus operatives of ISIL have become stronger in their efforts to control Western nations and in attempting to achieve world domination.

“This is an attack not just on Paris, it’s an attack not just on the people of France, but this is an attack on all of humanity and the universal values that we share,”

– President Obama hours after the terrorist attacks in Paris began unfolding.
The full statement by the president at first sounds lofty, courageous and dedicated to U.S. resolve in fighting the scourge that afflicted the City of Lights.A closer analysis, however, reveals that it is empty hypocritical posturing designed to deceive the American public and feed his politically correct allies in the media their narrative.
First, it was not an attack on “all of humanity and the universal values we share,” as Obama claimed. It was an attack by Islamists who do not share “our universal values” on its infidel enemies.
Second, wouldn’t it have been appropriate for him to have issued a similar type of unequivocal condemnation of terrorism and his strong affiliation with Israel’s commitment to fight against extremism when it began experiencing its most recent wave of massive attacks?
After all, just as he expressed the close alliance between the U.S. and France in vowing to attack the terrorists who struck, the President also reiterated the “extraordinary bond between the United States and Israel” during last week’s meetings with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and pledged to protect Israeli security.
Really?
Let’s roll the tape. When Palestinian terrorists began shooting and killing Israelis in every corner of their country, the Obama administration outrageously issued a contrived, evenhanded statement calling on both Israel and the Palestinians to reduce the violence.
Perhaps—to be consistent with his so-called unequivocal views against terrorism expressed on Friday—he should have called on both France and ISIS to mutually reduce the violence.
The Obama administration’s role in the rise of ISIS
Third, Obama promised to “do whatever it takes to work with the French people and with nations around the world to bring these terrorists to justice, and to go after any terrorist networks that go after our people.”
This is the same president who impeded the lawsuits against those who killed the 241 Marines in Beirut and won’t allow prosecutions of the Iranian Al Quds Force responsible for killing thousands of American soldiers in Iran and Iraq.
He also refused to support FBI efforts to prosecute Hamas for killing scores of Americans, tried to interfere with civil law suits against the Palestinian Authority for murdering U.S. citizens and even prevented the victims of Iranian terrorism from collecting the billions of dollars of judgments awarded to them in dozens of lawsuits that Iran has lost.
Jurists on both political sides have agreed that the president has violated U.S. anti-terrorism laws that mandate the prosecution of those who kill “our people.”
Fourth, this is a president who some claim is more responsible for the rise of ISIS than anyone else in the world.
Recently declassified emails demonstrate that his administration sold the initial shipment of major weapons to ISIS in 2012 as a counterweight to Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad.
It’s quite ironic that Obama acts so sympathetically to the victims of ISIS attacks, much similar to how the man who murdered his parents pleads for mercy because he is an orphan.
Finally, expect the President and other Western leaders such as CIA Chief John Brennan to begin their apologia tour in claiming that the attackers had nothing to do with Islam, with a compliant media parroting their talking points.
They will say that ISIS is not religious but a “death cult;” that “jihad” really means “peace” and those who carry out these attacks are “subverting a religion of peace.”
The president has prohibited the term “Islamic terrorism” from the White House lexicon. Perhaps we should ban the terms “white racists,” the “Italian Mafia,” the “Hispanic drug cartels” and “black gangs.”

Even on Saturday, the Democratic presidential candidates refused multiple times to condemn “radical Islam,” falsely contending—as the many Muslim advocacy groups say today—that condemning radical Islam is racist.

Also expect the mindless talking heads to claim that the majority of attempted terrorist attacks have been singularly stopped by the active cooperation of the American Muslim population.

Islamic terrorism has everything do with Islam

Let’s set the record straight once and for all: Islamic terrorism has everything do with Islam.

The violent tactics of ISIS, al-Qaida, Hamas and every other Islamic terrorist group invokes their legitimacy by practicing the religion its purest form.

This does not mean that all Muslims are terrorists or that Islam in inherently violent.

There are vast numbers of peaceful Muslims. But Islam is defined by those who practice it.

The decapitations by ISIS proscribed by the Koran were the dominant form of punishment by Mohammed’s armies against enemies who would not convert or accept Islamic supremacy.

The notion that ISIS has nothing to do with Islam is the invention of the leftist Western alliance with anti-civil rights Islamic advocacy groups.

It is designed to mislead the public, especially because of the massive amount of terror the world has experience or observed since 9/11. ISIS is not subverting Islam, but it is derived from its basic tenants.

It practices Islam the same way the Iranian Mullahs practice Islam, the way Saudi Arabia chops off limbs, the way Pakistan sentences to death anyone who converts to Christianity, the way that women are treated as second class citizens in traditional Muslim societies and the way that homosexuals are put to death.

Are we to think that the pro-violent and misogynist Muslim Brotherhood—which dominates the religious and social institutions of the Muslim world in both the East and West, and all of its offspring including al-Qaida, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Jama’at Islamiya, Boku Haram, Tabligi Jamat and others—have nothing to do with Islam?

Also, sorry to break the politically correct bubble, but it has been FBI intelligence that has stopped the vast majority of the more than 100 attempted Islamic terrorist attacks in the U.S. since 9/11, not the cooperation of the Muslim population with law enforcement.

The sad reality is that radical Islamist front groups that masquerade as moderate—such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) and the Muslim American Society (MAS)—discourage Muslims from cooperating with authorities.

Censoring the discussion

Indeed, these groups, who have been welcomed into the White House hundreds of times, exhort their members and all Muslims in the U.S. not to trust or talk to the FBI.

Most significantly, they espouse an incendiary conspiratorial narrative that lies at the motivational root of all Islamic terrorism:

They claim there is a war against Islam by the United States, Israel and the West.

The terrorists who hear this narrative are then persuaded to avenge the “crimes” of the U.S., France or Israel by carrying out “jihad” that they justify as “defensive.”

It is only a matter of time before the high priesthood of self-anointed civil rights groups begin to reclaim their dominance in censoring the discussion—abetted by the useful idiots in the mainstream media—of mentioning the term “radical Islam” by claiming it’s a slur against all Muslims.

Already, the media are dutifully reporting the “condemnations” of the Paris attacks by groups like CAIR and MPAC, the very same groups that say that any mention of radical Islam is Islamaphobic racism.

If so, how would they categorize the gruesome Islamic terrorist attacks in Paris?

Obama’s hollow words on the Paris attacks will fade in the coming days largely because they never meant anything in the first place.

But the American and European publics are not stupid. They understand the problem.

It is our leaders who are disenfranchising us.

And they think they will get away with it. Remember that they blamed the Benghazi massacre on an Internet video.

Perhaps they will blame the ISIS attacks on a TV show.

TRUMP WANTS MUSLIMS TO REPORT RADICAL MEMBERS (STOP POLITICAL CORRECTNESS)

POLITICAL CORRECTNESS MAKES ISIL STRONGER.

US PRESIDENTIAL HOPEFUL Donald Trump has claimed that Muslims are “absolutely not reporting” suspected attackers.

“I would say this to the Muslims, and in the United States also, when they see trouble they have to report it,” Trump told ITV television, a day after 31 people were killed in terror attacks at Brussels airport and on the city’s metro system.
“They’re not reporting it, they’re absolutely not reporting it and that’s a big problem,” said Trump, who is the favourite to win the Republican nomination for the US presidential election on 8 November.
“It’s like they are protecting each other but they are really doing very bad damage… They have to open up to society, they have to report the bad ones,” he told interviewer Piers Morgan.
Trump’s comments were immediately rejected by the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB), which represents hundreds of mosques and charities, and by one of Britain’s top counter-terrorism officers, Neil Basu.
“He is wrong,” Basu, a deputy assistant commissioner at London’s Metropolitan Police, told BBC Radio.

“If we demonise one section of the community that is the worst thing we can do. We are absolutely playing into the terrorists’ hands of making people feel hate,” he said.
Miqdaad Versi, the MCB’s assistant secretary-general, said Trump’s comments “fuel this idea of bigotry”.
They “really fuel the thing that terrorists themselves want – that Muslims are apart from the West and cannot be seen as equal citizens”, he said.
Trump has drawn controversy before by calling for Muslims to be barred from entering the United States following a deadly shooting attack in San Bernardino, California in December.

BRUSSELS ATTACKED BY ISIL, TRUMP WAS RIGHT ABOUT SYRIAN REFUGEES

BRUSSELS ATTACKED BY ISIL, TRUMP WAS RIGHT ABOUT SYRIAN REFUGEES

IT'S TIME TO STOP BEING POLITICALLY CORRECT AND PROTECT OUR BORDERS.

TRUMP DOESN'T HATE MUSLIMS. HE JUST WANTS TO KEEP AMERICA SAFE.

Sources: Hot Air, Washington Post, Fox News, Youtube

Several months ago 2016 GOP Presidential front runner Donald J Trump predicted that if the United States and our Allies did not secure their borders, more ISIL-related terrorists attacks would occur.

Tuesday, March 22, 2016 Brussels, Belgium a country in Western Europe, suffered a brutal terrorist attack from ISIL.
In 2015 it was Paris. In 2016 it's Brussels.
Will the United States be next?
In 2015 Trump was also mocked and scoffed at by the mainstream media for saying the American government should not let in those so-called Syrian Refugees without assuring they were true Refugees.

The media accused Trump of being a Racist and of spreading Islamaphobia.
Turns out many of those so-called Syrian Refugees are actually ISIL Operatives with FAKE documents from IRAQ and PAKISTAN.
I say it's time for the American gov't to stop being Politically correct and focus on protecting American citizens by securing our borders.

I repeat.
Tuesday, March 22, 2016 Brussels, Belgium a country in Western Europe, suffered a brutal terrorist attack from ISIL.
In 2015 it was Paris. In 2016 it's Brussels.
Will the United States be next?
Trump was right about the United States and our Allies securing our borders.

As the bad news out of Brussels continues to unfold today, we are reminded of some of the coverage that the city has received in the past. As I listened to the expert analysis of precisely what went so wrong there, the name of on particular segment of the city kept coming up repeatedly. The neighborhood of Molenbeek has long been known as a breeding ground for terrorists and a virtual “no go” sector for the cops, no matter what other European leaders say. CNN terrorism analysts this morning were bemoaning the fact that previous efforts to locate suspects in the neighborhood were met with a “wall of silence” if not overt hostility. In fact, you couldn’t find one “expert” on the air today who wasn’t talking about this problem as if it were just a sad but known fact of life.
Of course, much of the media was singing a different tune only two months ago when The Donald had the audacity to point out some of the problems in Brussels, saying Trump had found “a new city to insult.”
Now Donald J. Trump has upset the already beleaguered people of Belgium, calling its capital, Brussels, “a hellhole.”
Asked by the Fox Business Network anchor Maria Bartiromo about the feasibility of his proposal to bar foreign Muslims from entering the United States, Mr. Trump argued that Belgium and France had been blighted by the failure of Muslims in these countries to integrate.
“There is something going on, Maria,” he said. “Go to Brussels. Go to Paris. Go to different places. There is something going on and it’s not good, where they want Shariah law, where they want this, where they want things that — you know, there has to be some assimilation. There is no assimilation. There is something bad going on.”…
For Belgians, already reeling from recent terrorist plots and a chronically dysfunctional government, Mr. Trump’s words were enough to induce a fit of pique worthy, in some cases, of Mr. Trump himself.
Adding even more irony to the story, Trump had referenced the work of Eric Zemmour regarding the situation in Brussels. The French writer had been sending up warnings about Molenbeek for some time and they seem eerily prescient in light of today’s events.
Éric Zemmour, a French writer, recently suggested in an interview that rather than bombing the Islamic State’s self-declared capital of Raqqa, Syria, France should bomb Molenbeek, the working-class district in Brussels where several of the Paris attackers lived.
Most Belgian officials reacted with quiet defiance. “We don’t react to Mr. Trump’s comments,” the office of Mayor Yvan Mayeur of Brussels said in an email. “Have a nice day.”
I’m sure using the phrase “hell hole” was a bit on the heavy handed side, but looking around the smoking ruins of the Brussels metro today and the neighborhood where the police are looking for suspects, it certainly seems appropriate. I don’t imagine that the Times will be offering any apologies to Trump today, and perhaps none are in order. But if there was any doubt about the fact that there’s something bad going on in Brussels these days, it’s been dispelled in an abrupt, tragic fashion.
The Mayor of Brussels may not react to Mr. Trump’s comments, but his city had best figure out a way to react to what’s going on in Molenbeek, and quickly.

OBAMA ADMIN BLOCKS PUBLIC INFO & SOCIAL MEDIA ACCESS (GOV'T PROPAGANDA)

OBAMA ADMIN BLOCKS PUBLIC INFORMATION & SOCIAL MEDIA ACCESS (GOV'T PROPAGANDA):

INCLUDES YOUTUBE AND ON-AIR CABLE NEWS ABOUT RADICAL ISLAM.

The fight for access to public information has never been harder, Associated Press Washington Bureau Chief Sally Buzbee said recently at a joint meeting of the American Society of News Editors, the Associated Press Media Editors and the Associated Press Photo Managers.

The problem extends across the entire federal government and is now trickling down to state and local governments.

Here is Buzbee’s list of eight ways the Obama administration is making it hard for journalists to find information and cover the news:

1) As the United States ramps up its fight against Islamic militants, the public can’t see any of it. News organizations can’t shoot photos or video of bombers as they take off — there are no embeds. In fact, the administration won’t even say what country the S. bombers fly from.

2) The White House once fought to get cameramen, photographers and reporters into meetings the president had with foreign leaders overseas. That access has become much rarer. Think about the message that sends other nations about how the world’s leading democracy deals with the media: Keep them out and let them use handout photos.

3) Guantanamo: The big important 9/11 trial is finally coming up. But we aren’t allowed to see most court filings in real time — even of nonclassified material. So at hearings, we can’t follow what’s happening. We don’t know what prosecutors are asking for, or what defense attorneys are arguing.

4) Information about Guantanamo that was routinely released under President George W. Bush is now kept secret. The military won’t release the number of prisoners on hunger strike or the number of assaults on guards. Photo and video coverage is virtually nonexistent.

5) Day-to-day intimidation of sources is chilling. AP’s transportation reporter’s sources say that if they are caught talking to her, they will be fired. Even if they just give her facts, about safety, for example. Government press officials say their orders are to squelch anything controversial or that makes the administration look bad.

6) One of the media — and public’s — most important legal tools, the Freedom of Information Act, is under siege. Requests for information under FOIA have become slow and expensive. Many federal agencies simply don’t respond at all in a timely manner, forcing news organizations to sue each time to force action.

7) The administration uses FOIAs as a tip service to uncover what news organizations are pursuing. Requests are now routinely forwarded to political appointees. At the agency that oversees the new health care law, for example, political appointees now handle the FOIA requests.

8) The administration is trying to control the information that state and local officials can give out. The FBI has directed local police not to disclose details about surveillance technology the police departments use to sweep up cellphone data. In some cases, federal officials have formally intervened in state open records cases, arguing for secrecy.

DONALD TRUMP’S FIRST CAMPAIGN AD EXPOSES HARD TRUTHS ABOUT TERRORISM (RADICAL ISLAM)

DONALD TRUMP’S FIRST CAMPAIGN AD EXPOSES HARD TRUTHS ABOUT TERRORISM:

TRUMP’S AD DOESN'T PROFILE MUSLIMS, FOCUSES ON RADICAL ISLAM.

~ Trump re-ups controversial Muslim ban and Mexico wall in first campaign ad

GOP frontrunner’s ad called ‘Great Again’ begins airing Tuesday in Iowa and New Hampshire and promises to ‘quickly cut the head off of Isis and take their oil’.

Republican frontrunner Donald Trump has released his first, long-promised campaign ad: a spot that touts his controversial proposal to ban Muslims from entering the US “until we can figure out what’s going on”.

The ad then promises Trump will “quickly cut the head off of Isis and take their oil”.

In the 30-second spot, the narrator also declares that Trump will build a southern wall to prevent immigrants from illegally crossing over the US border with Mexico.

Over a somber piano melody, the narrator assures listeners that Mexico will pay for the wall.

A spokesperson for the Mexican president, Enrique Peña Nieto, said in August that the country, an important trading partner for the US, would do no such thing.

“Of course it’s false,” Peña Nieto’s spokesman, Eduardo Sánchez, told Bloomberg.“It reflects an enormous ignorance for what Mexico represents, and also the irresponsibility of the candidate who’s saying it.”

President Barack Obama appears in the clip alongside Hillary Clinton, just before the frame changes to show an image of people on stretchers behind photos of the alleged gunman in the San Bernardino shooting.

“He’s calling for a temporary shutdown of Muslims entering the United States, until we can figure out what’s going on,” the narrator says.

Trump’s ad refers to the threat of Islamic extremism, which like other forms of religious extremism has existed for millennia.
“He’ll quickly cut the head off of Isis and take their oil,” the ad continues.

Trump first proposed to ban Muslims last month at a campaign rally in Charleston, South Carolina.

Footage of Trump promoting this proposal was used in a new recruitment film, released this weekend, for Somalia’s al-Shabaab militant group.

Trump told the Washington Post that he hopes that the ad, and others in production, can sway undecided voters.

“The world is laughing at us, at our stupidity,” Trump said. “It’s got to stop. We’ve got to get smart fast – or else we won’t have a country.”

The ad, which is called “Great Again”, will start airing in New Hampshire and Iowa on Tuesday.

Trump’s campaign said that it plans to spend at least $2m each week to air the ad.

Trump said in a statement:

“I am very proud of this ad, I don’t know if I need it, but I don’t want to take any chances because if I win we are going to Make America Great Again.”

ISIL CAN'T STEAL AMERICA'S CHRISTMAS; GOD BLESS AMERICA

ISIL CAN'T STEAL AMERICA'S CHRISTMAS

PLANNED TERRORIST ATTACKS RIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS.

For six years, the Radical Islamist Terrorist group ISIL, has intentionally planned Mass Shooting Attacks on American soil.

Most of these events have occurred during the Christmas holiday season.

Is it a coincidence these Terrorist attacks usually occur at Christmas time or is ISIL succeeding at distracting American citizens from celebrating the birth of JESUS CHRIST via planned Terrorist attacks?

~ Christmas In New York City 2015: ISIS Terror Threat Coincides With Rockefeller Tree Lighting, Holiday Markets, High Tourist Season

When the militants -- also known as ISIS or ISIL -- released a video Wednesday making threats against New York City, it included old footage of Times Square that had appeared in a propaganda message released in April. The New York City Police Department determined there was no credible or specific threat against the city, Police Commissioner Bill Bratton said Wednesday, but he still deployed members of a new anti-terrorism squad as an extra precaution.
"The people of New York City will not be intimidated," New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said late Wednesday. "We understand it is the goal of terrorists to intimidate and disrupt our democratic society. We will not submit to their wishes."
New York is wrapped in holiday cheer every December, as parents and children flock to ice skate in Bryant Park, shoppers stroll along Fifth Avenue to take in store windows dressed up for the holidays, and the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center glitters, drawing visitors and locals from around the city. The smells of roasting chestnuts fill sidewalks and churches perform traditional carols.
Tourists at Times Square and Penn Station on Thursday said they had noticed an increase in police officers at big tourist locations, and most said the increased presence made them feel safe. Lewis Moynan, a 22-year-old from England who was finishing up a trip to New York on Thursday, said he was not worried about traveling this week.
“It’s probably one of the safest times you can travel, really, with all the security,” he said. “You can see all the police presence all around the city. ... It makes you feel safer.”
After working as a soccer coach in California for several months, Moynan’s visa was nearing expiration, so he wanted to stop in New York to see the sights before heading to visit family in Maryland. While in the city, he made time to see the Empire State Building, Times Square, the Brooklyn Bridge and the World Trade Center.
“I saw this morning outside Macy’s they’ve got all the Christmas trees out and everything,” he said. “I loved it so much last year and there’s so much to do that I wanted to come back.”
Several holiday-themed events opened this week with increased police presence. The annual Union Square Holiday Market opened Thursday, and Urbanspace, the organization that runs the market, said it expects to have just as busy a holiday season as ever.
“We’re going on as usual this year, but obviously we’re cognizant of what’s going on in the world,” said Rachel Van Dolsen, a spokeswoman for Urbanspace. “The holiday market has been in New York for over 20 years, it has integrated itself into the city’s culture, it’s become an institution.”
Between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve, New York City expects to host about 5 million visitors, according to NYC & Company, the city’s tourism organization. Those tourists will bring in more than $3 billion, which the city’s businesses and tourist attractions rely on to sustain them throughout the rest of the year.
“Cultural institutions and theaters launch new performances and blockbuster exhibits this time of year; major parades and events also add to the city’s appeal,” Dena Libner, a spokeswoman for NYC & Company said in an email. “The strength of holiday visitation is essential for the businesses and employees sustained by visitor spending.”
Hotels, too, rely on holiday visitors for big business. While most aren't expecting a drop in visitors due to the recent terror threats, some have added their own security along with Christmas wreaths and red velvet bows in recent days.
“At all Hyatt Hotels, the safety and security of guests and associates is one of our top priorities. Out of an abundance of caution, various key properties in the U.S. have elevated their security measures,” the Hyatt Corp. said in a statement. “Additionally, the hotels are in close contact with local police and are collaborating with them in their enhanced community policing measures at these locations.”
For tourists in New York City the week before Thanksgiving, many were excited to be avoiding the holiday crowds, but did say friends or relatives had warned them about traveling so soon after the Paris attacks.
Melissa Lindsay, who had just arrived at Penn Station Thursday for a girls’ weekend with her best friend of 30 years, was excited to be in New York for the first time, despite the state of world affairs. She and her friend had come from Fredericksburg, Virginia, to see Joseph Prince, the pastor of New Creation Church in Singapore, who is currently on a world tour, and they decided to make a weekend out of their trip to New York.
“I’m so excited to see ‘The Color Purple,’ ” Lindsay, 51, said. “I’m not nervous traveling, but other people did tell me to be careful going to New York. About four people said, ‘Have fun, but be careful.’ ”
A more experienced traveler, Maria Elena Wood has tried to visit New York City every year since 1981. A journalist from Santiago, Chile, she loves the New York theater scene and exploring the city. But Wood, who is 55, wasn’t going to let terrorists ruin her time in the iconic New York City.
“I think that we [cannot] be nervous because anywhere it can happen,” Wood said. “We must continue to do our lives. I think that we have to continue living as we live because that’s the best way to fight terrorism -- not to be in terror.”

ANGELA MERKEL CALLS MULTICULTURALISM POLICIES A SHAM WHICH ACTUALLY ENCOURAGES TERRORISM

GERMANY'S CHANCELLOR VOWS TO REDUCE NUMBER REFUGEES ENTERING HER COUNTRY.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel's refugee policy has attracted praise from all over the world.

Time magazine and the Financial Times newspaper recently named her Person of the Year, and delegates applauded her for so long at her party's convention on Monday that she had to stop them.

The speech that followed, however, may have surprised supporters of her policies: "Multiculturalism leads to parallel societies and therefore remains a ‘life lie,’ ” or a sham, she said, before adding that Germany may be reaching its limits in terms of accepting more refugees. "The challenge is immense," she said. "We want and we will reduce the number of refugees noticeably."

Although those remarks may seem uncharacteristic of Merkel, she probably would insist that she was not contradicting herself. In fact, she was only repeating a sentiment she first voiced several years ago when she said multiculturalism in Germany had "utterly failed."

"Of course the tendency had been to say, 'Let's adopt the multicultural concept and live happily side by side, and be happy to be living with each other.' But this concept has failed, and failed utterly," she said in 2010.

Repeating those ideas on Monday was meant to calm her supporters who have grown increasingly weary of the influx of refugees. Newcomers, Merkel stressed, should assimilate to German values and culture, and respect the country's laws.

Merkel emphasized that despite her commitment to limit the influx of refugees, she was standing by her decision to open the borders earlier this fall. “It is a historical test for Europe,” she said, adding that other countries in Europe should accept more refugees to take some of the burden off Germany.

Refugees in need should be helped, she said, but she also suggested that not everyone who has come to Germany fulfilled those criteria. German authorities are expected to ramp up deportations in the coming months.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that multiculturalism in Germany remains "a lie," telling immigrants to "obey our laws, values and traditions." Her comments came as part of a speech on Dec. 14, in Karlsruhe, a city dominated by Europe's refugee crisis.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel's refugee policy has attracted praise from all over the world. Time magazine and the Financial Times newspaper recently named her Person of the Year, and delegates applauded her for so long at her party's convention on Monday that she had to stop them.

Refugees in need should be helped, she said, but she also suggested that not everyone who has come to Germany fulfilled those criteria. German authorities are expected to ramp up deportations in the coming months.
Merkel’s party, the Christian Democratic Union, overwhelmingly approved of her refugee policy, with only two out of about 1,000 delegates voting against a resolution in support of it.

Merkel's comments may also reflect a particular understanding of assimilation. Many Germans expect immigrants to quickly learn the German language and to contribute to their communities and work life.

Multiculturalism usually has a positive connotation, but to Merkel it symbolizes the emergence of isolated societies within Germany — and ultimately a failure of assimilating immigrants.

Her policy toward the issue is supposed to avoid the creation of suburbs such as the areas around Paris, for instance, where young immigrants are isolated from the rest of society.

However, her speech comes at a sensitive time. Germany has opened its borders to approximately 1 million refugees this year, many of whom are still being accommodated in makeshift housing. Fights have broken out in multiple reception centers, raising fears about the country's ability to deal with the influx.

Local disputes have caused tensions in national politics as well.

Last year, Germany's influential Christian Social Union party proposed that everyone in Germany should be required to speak German "in public and in private with their families." The public backlash forced the party to retract the draft resolution.

Compared to 2010, when Merkel first voiced her criticism of multiculturalism, there was little reaction Monday. The applause following her speech lasted nine minutes and again had to be interrupted by Merkel. "Thanks, but we have work to do," she said.
