KANYE WEST WAS RIGHT ABOUT 400 YRS OF SLAVERY BEING A “CHOICE FOR BLACK PEOPLE” (TRUTH HURTS)

KANYE WEST WAS RIGHT ABOUT 400 YRS OF SLAVERY BEING A “CHOICE FOR BLACK PEOPLE”:

WILL HIS LATEST CONTROVERSIAL COMMENTS BE THE FINAL NAIL TO SEAL KANYE'S COFFIN?

I'M SURE MY PERSONAL BLOG POST ON THIS TOPIC WILL ANGER SOME PEOPLE TOO.

BLACK PEOPLE ARE STILL IN SLAVERY NOT DUE TO RACISM, BUT BECAUSE WE REFUSE TO WORK TOGETHER FOR THE COLLECTIVE GOOD.

WHAT KANYE SAID WASN’T POPULAR BUT IT'S DEFINITELY TRUE…….HE IS FINALLY WAKING UP.

SLAVERY HAS BEEN ABOLISHED SO WHY CAN'T BLACK PEOPLE SUPPORT ONE ANOTHER & WORK TOGETHER IN THE 21st CENTURY FOR THE COLLECTIVE GOOD?

WHEN BLACK PEOPLE WAKE UP AND THINK FOR THEMSELVES THEY ARE LABELED “MENTALLY UNSTABLE” OR AS “TROUBLEMAKERS” WHO NEED TO BE DESTROYED.

REAL LEADERS CAN'T BE AFRAID TO SPEAK THE TRUTH.

21st CENTURY BLACK LEADERS DON'T WANT TO REALLY HELP THE BLACK COMMUNITY, THEY JUST WANT FAT POCKETS.

BLACK PEOPLE ARE STILL IN SLAVERY NOT DUE TO RACISM, ONLY BECAUSE WE REFUSE TO WORK TOGETHER.

BLACK MEN ARE JEALOUS OR INSECURE OF BLACK WOMEN SO THEY RUN OFF TO WHITE WOMEN & LATINO WOMEN.

BLACK WOMEN OFTEN TRY TO TEAR DOWN OTHER BLACK WOMEN.

BLACK VOTERS STILL LARGELY VOTE DEMOCRAT WITHOUT PROPERLY VETTING THEIR OWN CANDIDATES.

BLACK LEADERS FREQUENTLY IGNORE THE PLIGHTS OF IMPOVERISHED BLACK YOUTH, ESPECIALLY IMPOVERISHED YOUNG BLACK MEN.

BLACK POLITICIANS & BLACK BUSINESS OWNERS ARE ONLY IN IT FOR PERSONAL GAIN NOT TO HELP OTHERS.

THOUSANDS OF YOUNG BLACK MEN ARE WRONGLY INCARCERATED ANNUALLY YET BLACK LEADERS KEEP PARTYING AND LAUGHING.

BLACK SENIOR CITIZENS ARE THROWN AWAY LIKE BAGS OF TRASH.

MANY OLDER MARRIED BLACK MEN PREY UPON LOW INCOME SINGLE WOMEN AND USE THOSE WOMEN FOR SEX, OFTEN RESULTING IN MORE BABIES.

MANY BLACK CHURCH LEADERS FLEECE BLACK CONGREGANTS FOR MONEY YET DON'T REALLY CARE ABOUT BLACK COMMUNITIES.

BLACK RETIRED SOLDIERS OVER THE AGE OF 60 ARE FORCED TO TAKE MEDICATIONS WHICH LEAD TO A SLOW DEATH.

BLACK AFRICANS COME TO AMERICA AND IDENTIFY AS BEING ONE STEP ABOVE BLACK AMERICANS.

THUS THE BLACK AMERICAN COMMUNITY IS STILL IN SLAVERY 400 YEARS LATER BY CHOICE.

I REPEAT.

WHAT KANYE SAID WASN’T POPULAR BUT IT'S DEFINITELY TRUE…….HE IS FINALLY WAKING UP.

BLACK PEOPLE ARE STILL IN SLAVERY NOT DUE TO RACISM, BUT BECAUSE WE REFUSE TO WORK TOGETHER FOR THE COLLECTIVE GOOD.

WHEN BLACK PEOPLE WAKE UP AND THINK FOR THEMSELVES THEY ARE LABELED “MENTALLY UNSTABLE” OR AS “TROUBLEMAKERS” WHO NEED TO BE DESTROYED.

****** Kanye West just said 400 years of slavery was a choice

Tuesday brought us two Kanyes.

The first was a man who opened up about his mental health, his family, and his art in a nearly-two hour interview with radio host Charlamagne Tha God.

The second was a Kanye who appeared at the TMZ headquarters where he had this to say:

"When you hear about slavery for 400 years ... ...

For 400 years? That sounds like a choice."

The rapper went on to add:

"You were there for 400 years and it's all of y'all. It's like we're mentally imprisoned."

Provocative statements are second nature to the 40-year-old rapper. And this week he's been making headlines left and right, including proclaiming his love for President Trump.

But when he made his off-handed remark about slavery, TMZ employee Van Lathan took him to task for it.

An employee confronts him

"While you are making music and being an artist and living the life that you've earned by being a genius, the rest of us in society have to deal with these threats to our lives," Lathan said.

"We have to deal with the marginalization that's come from the 400 years of slavery that you said for our people was a choice."

Lathan added, "Frankly, I'm disappointed, I'm appalled, and brother, I am unbelievably hurt by the fact that you have morphed into something to me, that's not real."

Kanye tries to explain

As his words lit Twitter on fire, Kanye tried to explain what he meant. Here is his series of tweets Tuesday evening:

"[T]o make myself clear. Of course I know that slaves did not get shackled and put on a boat by free will.

My point is for us to have stayed in that position even though the numbers were on our side means that we were mentally enslaved."

And then Kanye quickly made it about Kanye:

"[T]he reason why I brought up the 400 years point is because we can't be mentally imprisoned for another 400 years.

We need free thought now.

Even the statement was an example of free thought. It was just an idea.

Once again I am being attacked for presenting new ideas."

KANYE WEST SEEN IN PUBLIC W/ BLONDE HAIR, LOOKS LIKE DRUGGED UP ZOMBIE:

YEEZY WAS PROPPED UP LIKE AN EXHIBIT AT AN FURNITURE SHOW IN "HOLLYWEIRD" WITH ILLUMINATI, MASONIC HAND POSITIONS.

WHY ISN'T KANYE BEING ALLOWED TO SPEAK FOR HIMSELF OR TO WAVE AT ANYONE?

HIS NEW STAGE NAME IS "KIM KHARDASHIAN'S HUSBAND".

THE REAL KANYE IS GONE, HIS EYES LOOK

PLEASE PRAY FOR HIM.

***** Kanye West resurfaces in Los Angeles with BLONDE hair following hospitalization

Kanye West has resurfaced in Los Angeles following his hospitalisation.

Just under two weeks since the rapper was admitted to UCLA Medical Centre, he's been pictured at an art exhibition.

On Thursday, the star attended the Rick Owens: Furniture exhibition at the MOCA Pacific Deisgn Centre in West Hollywood.

The picture, taken by artist Giovanni Bassan, shows the star sporting a new blonde hairstyle.

"K's in da house," the picture was captioned.

It's been a tough couple of months for the star, but he appeared to be in good spirits.

Meanwhile, the rapper - who cancelled all his remaining tour dates shortly before being admitted to hospital - is thought to already be working on new music.

TMZ claims Kanye is comparing his recent mental health issues, and his subsequent eight-day stay in hospital, to the near-fatal car accident he was involved in back in 2002 and the sudden death of his mother Donda in 2007.

The dad-of-two reportedly feels that those incidents spawned some of his best-ever work, such as the hit single Through The Wire.

Earlier this week, rumours began to swirl that the reality star was planning to divorce her husband of two years, but they were later shot down.

Kim's close friend Jonathan Cheban was quizzed about the speculation on Wednesday evening and said it was the first he'd heard about it.

Jonathan said: "I just FaceTimed with Kim and Kanye and everyone's talking about some divorce rumours and I was laughing because I didn't hear that all day and I guess everybody else apparently here did and it's so funny to me because it's so not true."

He added to E! News:

"They're in good spirits. I don't want to talk much about them because it's not my business but I do have to say that the divorcing is kind of hysterical, that I will mention, because I just spoke to both of them on FaceTime literally before I was coming here and when I heard that I literally burst out laughing."

Following reports, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians official Twitter page also declared that the rumours simply aren't true.

"Calm down everyone: Kim and Kanye are NOT divorcing," the tweet read.

KANYE WEST PROOF OF LIFE AFTER RECENT MELTDOWN? (SACRAMENTO RANT)

KANYE WEST PROOF OF LIFE AFTER RECENT MELTDOWN? (SACRAMENTO RANT):

NO MORE MAINSTREAM MEDIA PROPAGANDA.

IS KANYE DEAD OR ALIVE?

WHERE IS HE?

Sources: XXL Magazine, Perez Hilton, Youtube

Is it unreasonable to ask for proof that Kanye West is still alive after he ranted ILLUMINATI Secrets while performing at a recent concert in Sacramento, California??

After being yanked off stage (while ranting about the ILLUMINATI) and hospitalized, he was released seven days later.

Immediately upon his "release" the Mainstream Media claimed Kanye would need to receive closely supervised Mental Health treatment for a very long time.

The remainder of Kanye's "St Pablo" tour was also cancelled.

Then the MSM claimed Kanye and his wife Kim KHARDASHIAN are separated and Kim is preparing to divorce him.

Now the MSM is claiming that Kanye is in a studio working on a new album.

How can he be working on a new album so soon if he is "Bat Crazy"?

Enough is enough of this MSM propaganda about Kanye West!

Will the REAL Kanye West please hold a Media Press Conference to prove that he still ALIVE and SANE?

Will the REAL Kanye West please release information about where he is currently located?

I'm just saying.

KANYE WEST'S RECENT INTERVIEW BEFORE MELTDOWN (SURFACE MAGAZINE)

***** Kanye West's Thoughtful Interview on the Music Industry, Emojis & Design With 'Surface' Magazine

Despite being touted as the king of controversy for his extensive rant in Sacramento over the weekend, Kanye West does what he does best and did not censor himself for his latest interview with Surfacemagazine.

While discussing his passion for design and art, the Chicago rapper-cum-designer also discussed the power of the Internet, including his love for emojis.

“There’s a lack of people in power that are motivated by the idea of helping people. But, thanks to the internet, people who would never have made it through a corporate system, they were able to jump to positions of power in their 20s that work on ideas for the new world," said West.

West also urged people to stop handing over their power to the "uncool" and allowing others to dictate their lives. "More people need to know that they’re not f---ing cool. In today’s world, having money has allowed people who are extremely uncool to think that they’re cool and carry it like that. People who really are cool and people who really are artists and have ideas have to literally turn in their cool card to society just to make it past the age of 28."

Elsewhere in the interview, he touched on his desire to further children's education, all while comparing life to the popular '90s video game The Legend of Zelda. "People across the world just lack opportunities, period. I feel a responsibility because of my parents. They’re activists and were in the world-changing business," he said. "Any extra goodwill or good skills I’ve gained I learned from them, and take along on my Legend of Zelda role-playing path in life."

KANYE WEST CHALLENGES ILLUMINATI ELITE & WINS...FOR NOW (#PRAY FOR YEEZY)

KANYE WEST CHALLENGES ILLUMINATI ELITE & WINS...FOR NOW:

PRAY FOR HIM BECAUSE IT'S NOT OVER.

ILLUMINATI KILLERS & GOLD DIGGERS.

Sources: E! Online, Legacy.com, Biography.com, Rockafella records, Youtube

Black male entertainer Kanye Omari West was born in Atlanta, Georgia and raised in Chicago, Illinois by his mother the late Dr Donda West.

Kanye's musical prodigy gift became obvious quite early in life.

By the time he reached high school Kanye had garnered the reputation as a songwriter and musician.

After attending college for one year Kanye withdrew to pursue his dream of moving to NYC to be signed by a major record label.

In 2002 Kanye inked a deal with the founders of Rockafella records, Hip Hop Artist Jay-Z and businessman Damon Dash.

Kanye's 2005 duet with fellow entertainer Jamie Foxx "Gold Digger" branded him as an international star.

However it appears Kanye craved for more than just billboard success.

He wanted to be lifted up like Jesus, thus his nickname "Yeezus".

Via members of the Music Industry's Illuminati Elite, Kanye allegedly agreed to sell his soul to the Devil and allegedly offered up his mother Dr Donda West as a Blood Sacrifice.

It was reported via the mainstream media that Dr Donda West died in 2007, supposedly as a result of complications from Cosmetic Surgery.

However years later it has been exposed that allegedly Kanye allowed his mother to die as a satanic Blood Sacrifice for Fame and Fortune.

Dear God!

According to sources closest to him, as each year passes, Kanye becomes very erratic on the anniversary of his mother's death.

During a recent concert performance in Sacramento, California Kanye stopped his show to deliver a 20 minute rant about several topics involving the Illuminati, Pres Obama, Hillary Clinton's general election loss, Mainstream Media Propaganda, Facebook, Google, Race Wars, how Dirty the Music Industry is, etc.,

Immediately after this rant Kanye was hospitalized for seven days before being released.

Now that Kanye has awakened from his Demonic trance and no longer wants to be a devil worshipper and no longer wants KIM KHARDASHIAN to control him, the Illuminati powers that be want to Discredit and KILL him in order to Silence him.

(FYI: Yes the ILLUMINATI is real!)

Assassinating people's character to Discredit people and Shut them up from exposing Deceit and the TRUTH is one of Satan's oldest tricks.

He even did it to JESUS back in the day.

KANYE is not crazy.

Instead he is being tormented by the same devil he once sold his Soul to.

KANYE is sick and tired of serving the devil.

Just as MICHAEL JACKSON and PRINCE became tired.

He needs JESUS!

Satan is a cruel taskmaster who rewards his loyal followers with DEATH and DESTRUCTION and HELL.

How many born again CHRISTIANS are still playing Games with the devil today?

One foot in the world, one foot in the Kingdom of God.

How many CHRISTIANS have been deceived into thinking they can do whatever they please
(commit Adultery, steal, gossip, Fornication, FREEMASONRY, joining Greek Organizations & Secret Societies, spread lies, bearing False witness, shed Innocent Blood, create Strife & Division, Assassinate their brother or sister's character, etc.,)
without expecting to suffer eternal Consequences on JUDGMENT Day??

There are many Black Men today in Christian Churches who are USHERS, who still believe it is acceptable unto God to remain a FREEMASON or an ALPHA, OMEGA, etc.,

There are many Black Women today in Christian Churches who are Church members & Dept Leaders, who still believe it is acceptable unto God to remain an AKA, DELTA, etc.,

How can human beings serve both God and Mammon and remain TRUE to the Lord JESUS CHRIST?

How many CHRISTIANS has Satan deceived into believing that God's GRACE is a license to continue in WILLFUL DISOBEDIENCE and DELIBERATE SIN when they think no one is watching them?

Yes God is a God of LOVE, Mercy and Grace.

But God is not to be Mocked.
Be not deceived.
Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

This includes CHURCH LEADERS because no one is above GOD.

No one is above JESUS CHRIST.

***** Kanye West Released From the Hospital a Week After Being Admitted for "Exhaustion"
Kanye West is on his way home following his hospitalization.

E! News can confirm the rapper was released from the hospital a week after being admitted for exhaustion on Nov. 21. According to TMZ, the rapper is at home with his wife and kids.

Just hours after the surprise cancellation of the rest of his Saint Pablo Tour, E! News confirmed the Grammy-winning rapper voluntarily went to the UCLA Medical Center for evaluation after suffering from exhaustion and sleep deprivation.

At the time, the rapper was with his personal trainer Harley Pasternak. The hospital visit was under the consultation of West's physician, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

After the doctor made the 911 call, the incident was deemed a "medical emergency" and the Fire Department responded to Pasternak's home Monday afternoon. In a recording of the Fire Department's dispatch call (obtained by TMZ), the encounter was referred to as a "psychiatric emergency."

His wife of two years, Kim Kardashian, was with West at the hospital Tuesday morning, the source said. The reality star had been in New York City Monday night to make her first public appearance at the Angel Ball charity function since being robbed at gunpoint in Paris in early October.

However, upon West's hospitalization, the mother of two turned around and headed back to Los Angeles without making any such appearance.

According to a second source, the star's mounting exhaustion is to blame on his "workaholic" personality. He has been working around the clock on fashion design, both on his own line and his adidas line. Balancing his projects and the demands of his tour every night has been a challenge for the star.

Being on the road and away from his young children and wife—particularly after the traumatic robbery in Paris—has also been challenging. As the source noted, all the time spent away from his family has been a stress on West as he considers them the most important.

Earlier this week, another source told E! News that the rapper was not being held "against his will" in the hospital. Rather, he wasn't quite ready to leave just yet.

"Kanye is the kind of person if he gets released and isn't mentally ready he will go back to his old ways and push himself over the limit again," the insider explained. "He needs to keep up with counseling even though he has an intense work schedule. He is just really drained and still weak. He isn't himself."

Unconfirmed reports have claimed the rapper was handcuffed to a gurney. The handcuffing is standard protocol for an involuntary psychiatric hold, which is also referred to as a "5150." In such cases, patients are believed to potentially be a danger to themselves, others around them, and/or gravely disabled.

By Tuesday afternoon, a source told E! News, "Kanye is doing better." The insider added that the rapper did not have a phone or computer with him per doctors' directions. As the source noted, West's "mental exhaustion" was taking a toll. "He almost quit a few times during tour, including right after the robbery."

FERGUSON BURNS BECAUSE OBAMA DOESN'T CARE ABOUT BLACK EITHER (FERGUSON IS OBAMA'S KATRINA)

#Ferguson

FERGUSON BURNS BECAUSE OBAMA DOESN'T APPEAR TO GIVE A DARN ABOUT BLACK PEOPLE:

FERGUSON IS OBAMA'S KATRINA BUT HE IS DOING WORSE THAN G.W. BUSH EVER DID.

BUSH WAS A WHITE MAN WHO DID NOT CARE.

OBAMA IS A BLACK MAN WHO DOES NOT CARE EITHER.

BLACK PEOPLE WANT PRES OBAMA TO REALLY SHOW HE CARES, NOT JUST GIVE SPEECHES.

SINCE 2009 HE HAS HELPED OTHER GROUPS. WHY NOT US??

IT'S TIME FOR SOME REAL ECONOMIC BOYCOTTS AND PEACEFUL PROTESTS ALL OVER AMERICA UNTIL REAL CHANGE OCCURS.

Pres OBAMA used BLACK Voters and only cares about POLITICS.

Since January of 2009 OBAMA has helped GAYS.....LATINOS.......WHITE WOMEN......NATIVE AMERICANS and MIDDLE EAST People while completely, intentionally ignoring BLACK People!

The national BLACK Unemployment rate is higher than 10%, this includes among Intelligent, Well-educated BLACK People with NO Criminal Records!

The only types of JOBS BLACK People are being Hired for are TEMPORARY JOBS, while being Treated like Crap by EMPLOYERS.

Yet Pres OBAMA is going to take more JOBS from BLACK People and now give them to ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS for the 2016 Elections!

In fact the only time OBAMA appears to demonstrate even a tiny bit of concern about BLACK People is during ELECTIONS, as if We are Stupid!

We are NOT Stupid!

We are Loyal and we wanted to give a BLACK Man an Opportunity to be President of the UNITED STATES just as We gave WHITE Men an Opportunity to become President of the USA.

If the Victims Protesting in FERGUSON were WHITE or LATINOS or WHITE GAY People or NATIVE AMERICANS or MIDDLE EASTERN People, neither OBAMA nor the MEDIA would be trying to Shut them up....... Lock them up or SHOOT them!

But because the Victims Protesting in FERGUSON are BLACK People, both Pres OBAMA and the MEDIA wants them to Shut up and Not even Speak out when someone Hurts them, or Mistreats them.

This is WRONG and INHUMANE!

I thought SLAVERY in AMERICA was Over!

What a Shame that RACE Relations in America is Worse under a BLACK President than it was under a WHITE President.

So why is this??

It's because the BLACK President does NOT give a Darn about his BLACK Constituents, does NOT identify with BLACK People, does NOT believe he has to try to Please BLACK People and believes that All BLACK Voters are Stupid!

I do NOT want to see FERGUSON Burn!

I do NOT want to see more VIOLENCE in FERGUSON.

But FERGUSON is OBAMA'S KATRINA and he is doing Worse than G.W. BUSH because at least BUSH was a WHITE Man.

OBAMA is a BLACK Man who does NOT give a Darn either!

I repeat.

BLACK PEOPLE WANT PRES OBAMA TO REALLY SHOW HE CARES, NOT JUST GIVE SPEECHES.

Since 2009 He has helped other groups. Why not US??

New Orleans Saved By Army Corps In 2011; Ignored In 2005

This Time The Army Corps Of Engineers Actually Prevented The Levees In Louisiana From Flooding New Orleans. The Same Way They Could Have Averted Hurricane Katrina's Flood Waters From Wiping Out The Ninth Ward Back In 2005.

Unfortunately ALL Of The WHITE Gulf Coast Residents Who Were Spared In 2005 At The Expense & Sacrifice Of New Orleans's Ninth Ward BLACK Citizens, Are Now Experiencing What Those Ninth Ward Citizens Experienced. Only Fewer Deaths.

For The Record Just Because Newly Elected NOLA Mayor Mitch Landrieu(U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu's Brother) Is A Democrat Doesn't Mean He Loves Black People.

After All He DID Grow Up In Louisiana, One Of The MOST Racist States In The South!

So Do I Believe That Back In 2005, Louisiana's Lawmakers With The Exception Of Mayor Nagin INTENTIONALLY Allowed The City Of New Orleans To Flood Just To "Clean Out" Its Poor BLACK Citizens & Make Room For A New White, Upscale Population?

YES!

But....

Did Anyone Think That The Lord God Almighty Would Ever Forget The Intentional Deaths Of More Than 1,500 Ninth Ward Citizens, Mainly People Of Color In 2005?

Well Guess What?

He Didn't!

Thus The Reason Why All Of This Year's Destruction Along The Gulf Coast.

Call Me Crazy If You Like However....

MURDER IS MURDER!

God's Word Says: VENGEANCE IS MINE! I WILL REPAY! Romans 12:19

Remember Katrina!

Thank You Kanye West For Speaking Up!

Louisiana Spillway Opened to Relieve Flooding

After declaring that “public safety is our No. 1 priority,” officials from the Army Corps of Engineers opened the Morganza spillway, sending water from the engorged Mississippi River rushing into the pastures and cropland here to forestall potentially catastrophic damage farther downstream.

As Col. Ed Fleming, commander of the corps’ New Orleans district, had said beforehand, one bay of the giant structure was opened Saturday at 3 p.m. local time, sending water out at a predicted 10,000 cubic feet per second. If current forecasts hold, officials would eventually open enough bays to allow water out at 125,000 cubic feet per second, a quarter of the spillway’s capacity.

That diversion would relieve the already enormous pressure on the levee system as the river courses past Baton Rouge, New Orleans and a corridor of chemical plants and oil refineries. But it would also flood hundreds of thousands of acres of farmland and thousands of homes, as it pours out into the Atchafalaya River basin. Evacuations have been taking place for days in the towns and communities throughout the basin, along with large scale operations to protect these towns with sand bags and other barriers.

The Morganza, one of four floodways in the Mississippi River and tributaries flood control system, has only been opened once, in 1973. “We’re using every flood control tool that we have in the system,” said Gen. Michael J. Walsh, commander of the Mississippi Valley Division of the Corps of Engineers.

General Walsh added that the system was still under “tremendous pressure” and would remain so for weeks as the crest slowly moves down the river to the Gulf. The Morganza, which is triggered to open when the river is flowing at 1.5 million cubic feet per second past the Red River Landing north of Baton Rouge, was likely to remain open for weeks, ensuring that the river remains below that flow rate downstream. Any more pressure would put the levees past their design capacity.

With the opening closed to the general public, the occasion did not have the festive, tailgate atmosphere as when another spillway outside of New Orleans, the Bonnet Carre, was opened earlier this week. But there were some who wanted to mark — and capitalize on — this historic moment: a stand by the road into town was selling T-shirts for $20 that read: “Morganza Spillway 2011 Gates Finally Opened.” A live video stream has been set up by the Corps to show the flooding.

Just about everyone in southern Louisiana had come to expect the decision to open the spillway and had resigned themselves to the bitter but necessary trade-off behind it.

The water will take days to pour out into the Atchafalaya River basin, filling up marshes, engorging bayous, submerging hundreds of thousands of acres of farmland and seeping into thousands of homes. It will also test the network of federally and locally built levees that wall off towns and small Cajun communities throughout the basin. The water levels in the area will remain high for weeks.

According to maps released by the corps, these areas would be flooded to some degree whether the spillway was opened or not, given the extraordinary amount of water in the system.

There are about 2,500 people in the direct path of the spillway, and around 22,500 others who would be threatened by swollen backwaters. Gov. Bobby Jindal urged people remaining in these areas to begin evacuating.

Macy's 2010 Thanksgiving Parade: Large Crowd Despite Recession & Cold (Photos)

Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Draws Crowds Despite Cold Temps

Teeming crowds, chilly temperatures and a forecast of rain weren't enough to keep excited families like the Browns away from Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

"I'm exhausted," said Lance Brown, 46, a police sergeant who left his home in Port Jefferson, L.I., at 4 a.m. to stake out a prime spot. "Every year we come out here and camp. It's crazy."

"We need to get a great spot so we can see," said his son Brandon, 10, who craned his neck to take in the new Diary of a Wimpy Kid balloon.

The 84th annual parade kicked off at 9 a.m. under grey skies, but by noon the threatened rain had yet to fall.

Even rapper Kanye West seemed to relax and enjoy himself. Wearing black leather pants and sunglasses, West smiled widely and waved to screaming onlookers from his perch on the Daily News float.

Cynthia Cuevas, 39, who lives near Buffalo, N.Y., claimed a prime spot along the parade route at 7 a.m., surrounded by relatives.

"It brings out the kid in everyone" said Cuevas. "We watch it on TV every year. To be out here is an amazing feeling."

Firefighter Russ Regan, 41, of the Upper West Side, said he has been coming since he was a child, rarely missing a year. "It's my favorite holiday," he said.

His son Connor, 10, gawked at the new Kung Fu Panda balloon.

Regan's wife, Mary-Anne, said she'd take Thanksgiving over Christmas any day.

Bush Forgives Kanye West: Kayne Apologizes

Bush Forgives Kanye West For Calling Him A Racist

It looks like George W. Bush and Kanye West have buried the hatchet—at least for now.

In a taped interview on NBC's "Today" show, the often-impulsive rapper told Matt Lauer that he now regrets having said after Hurricane Katrina that Bush "doesn't care about black people."

"I would tell George Bush: In my moment of frustration, I didn't have the grounds to call him a racist," West said. "I believe that in a situation of high emotion like that, we as human beings don't always choose the right words."

In Bush's new memoir, "Decision Points," Bush calls the moment "disgusting" and the lowest ebb of his presidency.

Appearing separately on "Today," Bush, upon seeing a video of West's remarks, replied, "I appreciate that." But he added: "It wasn't just Kanye West who was talking like that during Katrina. I cited him as an example."

Asked if he forgives West, Bush said "absolutely."

"I'm not a hater. I don't hate Kanye West," he said. "But I was talking about an environment in which people were willing to say things that hurt. Nobody wants to be called a racist, if in your heart you believe in the equality of race."

It's a little unclear how sorry West really is. He has said repeatedly over the last week that he's "empathetic" toward Bush--but the rapper took to Twitter on Tuesday to criticize NBC. He said (in all capital letters) that Lauer "tried to force my answers."

He continued: "It was very brutal, and I came there with only positive intent."

Bush Discusses Waterboarding, Other Decisions & Mistakes

Bush Says New Orleans Flyover After Katrina A "Huge Mistake"

Former President George W. Bush said he made a “huge mistake” in not stopping in Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina and allowing photographers to take pictures of him looking at New Orleans as he flew over the city.

The photograph, taken on board Air Force One, made him look “detached and uncaring,” Bush said in an interview scheduled for broadcast on NBC next week in connection with the Nov. 9 release of the former president’s book, “Decision Points,” about his time in office.

Bush was widely criticized for the federal government’s botched response to the 2005 storm that devastated New Orleans and other parts of the Gulf of Mexico coast and for not going to the area soon after the hurricane hit.

“I should have touched down in Baton Rouge, met with the governor and walked out and said, ‘I hear you. We understand. And we’re going to help the state and help the local governments with as much resources as needed,’” Bush, 64, said according to excerpts from the interview with Matt Lauer scheduled to air at 8 p.m. New York time on Nov. 8.

In his book, Bush writes that a low point in his presidency was a remark by rapper Kanye West shortly after Katrina hit that the government’s response to the disaster showed Bush “doesn’t care about black people.”

“I faced a lot of criticism as president,” Bush wrote, according to the NBC excerpt. “I didn’t like hearing people claim that I lied about Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction or cut taxes to benefit the rich. But the suggestion that I was racist because of the response to Katrina represented an all- time low.”

‘Not True’

In the interview Bush said, “I resent it, it’s not true, and it was one of the most disgusting moments in my presidency.”

The former president, who served two terms in office, defended his decision to go to war in Iraq in 2003, saying the world would be much more unstable if Saddam Hussein were still in power.

Bush began the U.S.-led attack on Iraq on March 19, 2003, because, he said, Iraq’s Saddam Hussein had scorned the United Nations’ 12 years of mandates to get rid of its chemical and biological weapons of mass destruction.

He wrote that he felt “sickened” when the U.S. found no weapons of mass destruction. In the interview, Bush said he never considered apologizing for the decision to go to war.

“Apologizing would basically say the decision was a wrong decision,” he said. “And I don’t believe it was the wrong decision.”

In the interview and in his memoir, Bush talked about his struggles with alcohol. Drinking “became a love,” he said, according to interview excerpts. “And therefore, began to compete for my love with my wife and my daughters.”

He said he was able to quit on his own because he was never “chemically addicted.” He described himself as a “habitual drinker” before stopping at the age of 40. He said he has not had “a sip” of alcohol since 1986.

Suge Knight Sues Kanye West For $1M, Suge's Broke!

(You can view Suge Knight vs Kanye West court documents here via TMZ.)

Suge Knight & Kanye West Face off Over Lawsuit

Battle-scarred rap mogul Marion "Suge" Knight and volatile hip-hop star Kanye West faced off Friday over a beef involving a bullet — with a conference table between them.

The two rap titans were there for West to answer questions about a celebrity-packed Miami Beach party where an unknown gunman shot Knight in the leg. West hosted the 2005 fete at the posh Shore Club before the MTV Video Music Awards, held that year in Miami.

Knight — who promoted some of rap's biggest acts in the 1990s but has been beset by legal and financial troubles — has sued the Grammy Award-winning West and the Shore Club's owners, saying they didn't provide enough security.

Knight said Friday he had hoped a face-to-face encounter with West — and their lawyers — could settle the matter, but he got few answers.

"I figured I could sit him down, man to man, and get this resolved," Knight said after the six-hour, closed-door session at a Fifth Avenue office. "I'm disappointed."

West said he wasn't involved in the security arrangements for the party, said Knight's lawyer, Marc Brumer.

West briskly left the building afterward; his lawyers didn't immediately respond to telephone and e-mail messages left Friday evening. In court papers, West and the Shore Club ownership have denied Knight's claims of negligence.

No one has been arrested in the August 2005 shooting, which erupted in a club full of partygoers, including Jessica Alba, Eddie Murphy, the Black Eyed Peas and Paris Hilton. At least six shots were fired, police said.

The shooting shattered Knight's femur and left him with $200,000 in medical bills, Brumer said.

Knight said in his lawsuit, now being handled in Miami federal court, that West and the Shore Club should have realized the party could produce a "dangerous environment" because of a widely known history of sometimes violent feuding among rap figures.

"My whole thing is: I'm not here to put nobody behind bars," Knight said Friday, saying he mainly wanted to put the specter of rap-related violence to rest.

"It's time for more positive now," he added.

The burly Knight, nicknamed "Suge" for Sugar Bear, founded Death Row Records and was one of the most powerful music figures of the 1990s. His stable of rappers included such superstars as Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre and Tupac Shakur, who was shot and killed in 1996 while riding in Knight's car.

At the time, the Los Angeles-based Knight was publicly clashing with New York-based Sean Combs' Bad Boy label. Bad Boy's top artist, the Notorious B.I.G., was gunned down months later in Los Angeles. Relatives of B.I.G. have accused Knight of being involved; he has denied it, and police have never named him as a suspect.

Knight, who was jailed for five years in the 1990s on an assault conviction, has continued to have brushes with the law in recent years. Most recently, Los Angeles police sought assault charges against him after he was suspected of pointing a gun at a man in May, but prosecutors declined to file charges.

Knight, 45, made millions in Death Row's heyday, but he filed for bankruptcy in 2006, spurring an auction of the label's assets and sale of his mansion in Malibu, Calif.

He's seeking more than $1 million in damages in his lawsuit, but he would have to share the money with a bankruptcy trustee and the Internal Revenue Service if he prevails.

West, 33, rose to become one of rap's biggest stars in recent years, though he also has become known for impolitic outbursts — including an episode in which he interrupted Taylor Swift's acceptance speech during last year's MTV awards to say that Beyonce should have won Swift's award instead. West later apologized.

Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Kanye West, Jay-Z Top 2010 Grammys..."All The Single Ladies"

Beyonce, Swift top 2010 Grammy nominees

Beyonce has enough Grammy nominations for her and Sasha Fierce.

The omnipresent diva garnered the most Grammy nominations on Thursday with 10 nods, including nominations for album of the year for "I Am ... Sasha Fierce," song of the year for her anthem "Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)" and record of the year for "Halo."

Country crossover sensation Taylor Swift -- the year's best-selling artist outside of the late Michael Jackson — wasn't far behind Beyonce. The 19-year-old got eight nominations, including album of the year for her multiplatinum sophomore disc "Fearless"; song and record of the year for her hit, "You Belong With Me."

Swift, who has won everything from American Music Awards to Country Music Association trophies to that now-infamous MTV Video Music Award moonman, said her Grammy nominations represented the apex for her.

"To be recognized by the Grammys is the ultimate honor," said Swift in a telephone call shortly after finding out about her nominations. "The last couple of months has been a nonstop dream come true."

Another diva was also nominated in all three categories: Lady Gaga. The eccentric entertainer, who had five nominations overall, garnered a best album mention for her debut CD, "The Fame," while her "Poker Face" got nominations for record and song of the year.

Other nominees for album of the year included the Black Eyed Peas "The E.N.D." and Dave Matthews Band's "Big Whiskey and the Groogrux King."

The Black Eyed Peas were also nominated for record of the year for their feel-good song, "I Gotta Feeling," while the Kings of Leon were nominated for "Use Somebody."

The Kings of Leon hit was also nominated for song of the year, as well as Maxwell's comeback hit, "Pretty Wings."

The Black Eyed Peas, Maxwell and Kanye West got six nominations each, while Jay-Z and DJ David Guetta got five.

The country act the Zac Brown Band was nominated for best new artist, along with R&B siren Keri Hilson, rockers MGMT, the punk duo the Ting Tings and the rock group the Silversun Pickups. The year's most popular new artist, Lady Gaga, wasn't in the category because she wasn't eligible; her single "Just Dance" had been nominated last year, before she was a platinum-selling act; previous Grammy nominees can't be nominated in the category.

Recording Academy President Neil Portnow said that scenario won't likely happen again: "There will be some changes so that that particular situation won't repeat itself."

The nominations for the Grammys, to be held Jan. 31, were unveiled as part of a prime-time CBS special. It was the second year in a row that the Recording Academy revealed a handful of its 109 nominees during a televised concert; in the past, they had been announced during a morning news conference.

But Wednesday's special gave nominees the chance to perform, such as the Black Eyed Peas, who sang their ubiquitous hit, "I Gotta Feeling," as well as provided face time for CBS' stars, like LL Cool J, the rapper-actor who is the star of "NCIS: Los Angeles."

"This is very surreal for me. I'm not used to this," said Maxwell. "I've been throwing out my trash, buying my milk, and living in basic obscurity ... To come back and make a record based on my own living experiences and not on my desire to be No. 1 ... I feel like I've already won. If nothing comes of it it's already like the cherry on the cake for me."

Several celebs were highlighted in nonmusical categories. Jimmy Carter and Michael J. Fox were among those recognized for their spoken word albums while David Hyde Pierce and Ed Asner were both nominated for their children's spoken word albums. "Weird Al" Yankovic, Stephen Colbert, Patton Oswalt, Kathy Griffin, George Lopez and faux rock band Spinal Tap will vie for best comedy album.

Pres. Obama To Visit New Orleans...Stench Of Katrina Tragedy Still Lingers

(Weekly Address: Lessons and Renewal Out of the Gulf Coast.)

(Entertainers Mike Myers and Kanye West plead help for Katrina victims.)

Pres. Obama to hear from New Orleans residents

President Barack Obama, who criticized former President George W. Bush for leading a government "that sits on its hands while a major American city drowns," is hearing directly from New Orleans residents who have struggled to rebuild their city since the 2005 hurricane season.

Obama arrives in New Orleans on Thursday on his first presidential trip to the hurricane-ravaged Gulf Coast. About 1,600 people were killed in Louisiana and Mississippi by Hurricane Katrina, which caused $40 billion in damages and displaced 1 million people from their homes.

The storm was a catastrophic disaster that turned into a political one for Bush.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency was widely criticized for a slow response. And local officials have complained that the Bush administration often stubbornly refused to pay for work that should have qualified for federal aid.

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, a Republican, has credited Obama's team with bringing a more practical and flexible approach to the reconstruction process. "There's a sense of momentum and a desire to get things done," he said in August.

When Obama became president, FEMA said there were more than 120 Louisiana reconstruction projects stalled in federal-state disputes. Since January, 76 of those have been resolved.

While it is Obama's first trip to New Orleans, it's the administration's 18th trip to the city. And administration officials have made 35 trips to the Gulf Coast since March.

Impact still visible in the city

By the time Obama took office, the federal government had committed more than $126 billion to rebuilding Gulf Coast communities affected by hurricanes Katrina and Rita in 2005. In the past nine months, the administration says more than $1.4 billion in additional federal aid has gone toward repairing and rebuilding Louisiana and $160 million more to Mississippi.

But the impact from Katrina is still visible in places like New Orleans. Across from a school Obama planned to visit, firefighters work out of a trailer, and a storm-shuttered community center awaits demolition.

Some residents have criticized Obama for the brevity of his trip — he's expected to be in the city just a few hours — and people in Mississippi, which took a direct hit from Katrina, were miffed the president left them out of his visit altogether.

"I'm greatly disappointed he's not coming to Mississippi," said Tommy Longo, mayor of Waveland, Miss., a town where almost every standing structure was destroyed or damaged. "There was no city hit harder than Waveland."

White House spokesman Nick Shapiro said Obama is committed to Mississippi's recovery as well.

"From transitioning people out of temporary disaster housing to rebuilding schools, roads, and bridges, the Obama administration has invested critical resources in Mississippi's rebuilding and recovery efforts and has worked to change the game on the ground for residents," he said.
