The first was a man who opened up about his mental health, his family, and his art in a nearly-two hour interview with radio host Charlamagne Tha God.
The second was a Kanye who appeared at the TMZ headquarters where he had this to say:
"When you hear about slavery for 400 years ... ...
For 400 years? That sounds like a choice."
The rapper went on to add:
"You were there for 400 years and it's all of y'all. It's like we're mentally imprisoned."
Provocative statements are second nature to the 40-year-old rapper. And this week he's been making headlines left and right, including proclaiming his love for President Trump.
But when he made his off-handed remark about slavery, TMZ employee Van Lathan took him to task for it.
An employee confronts him
"While you are making music and being an artist and living the life that you've earned by being a genius, the rest of us in society have to deal with these threats to our lives," Lathan said.
"We have to deal with the marginalization that's come from the 400 years of slavery that you said for our people was a choice."
Lathan added, "Frankly, I'm disappointed, I'm appalled, and brother, I am unbelievably hurt by the fact that you have morphed into something to me, that's not real."
Kanye tries to explain
As his words lit Twitter on fire, Kanye tried to explain what he meant. Here is his series of tweets Tuesday evening:
"[T]o make myself clear. Of course I know that slaves did not get shackled and put on a boat by free will.
My point is for us to have stayed in that position even though the numbers were on our side means that we were mentally enslaved."
And then Kanye quickly made it about Kanye:
"[T]he reason why I brought up the 400 years point is because we can't be mentally imprisoned for another 400 years.
We need free thought now.
Even the statement was an example of free thought. It was just an idea.
Once again I am being attacked for presenting new ideas."

I recently read an article on Vibe.comabout rapper Fabolous girlfriend of 8 years. It was an interesting read and I thought I would share it with you. His girlfriend Emily was interviewed by Swizz Beats ex-wife that put Alicia Keys on blast for being a “home wrecker” and the mother of his son singer Mashonda.
Here is the interview in her new weekly column called Pandora’s Box on Vibe.com:
In 2002, Emily Bustamente met rapper John “Fabolous” Jackson. Her life would never be the same. Like most hip-hop relationships, it has been bittersweet; Emily has stood by her man when he was shot, arrested, and surrounded by countless groupies on tour. She is Fab’s lady, friend, stylist, and the mother of his child. I had a chance to catch up with Emily for some real talk, after a recent tapings for her upcoming reality show on VH1.
Stunning, even without any make up on, and casually dressed, the 29 year old, Puerto Rican/Dominican welcomed me in her home. She showed me all of the renovations that her and Fabolous were making to their beautiful, 4-story townhouse. Johan, the couple’s two-year-old son was joyfully running in front of us. Finally, we choose a spot in her bedroom where we could get relaxed. After 20 minutes of non-stop laughter, toddler tips, and summer adventure stories, there was an awkward silence between Emily and myself. I didn’t hear a sound, but Emily insisted that Fabolous was home.
“Yo” Em says.
“Yo” the person replies.
In my mind I’m thinking, “There’s no way she felt him in the house before I could even hear him.” Emily looked at the amazement that came over my face.
“Yeah, I can always feel his presence,” she says.
Johan immediately screamed “Papa” and ran down to meet him. As we lay on their California King size bed, I instantly thought, ”Maybe I should get off?”, but Emily insisted I stay. He greeted Johan, “Heyyyy”. And as his footsteps got closer to the master bedroom, Emily stayed relaxed but glowing. As he got closer, I can tell he was trying to figure out who was in his room.
Mashonda: How did you meet Fabolous?
Emily: I met him in 2002 at an event. He sent his brother over to me to get my attention. I told his brother, “If he wants to talk to me, tell him to come here”. He was there promoting his album. When he finally walked over to me, I asked him why did he send his brother. Why couldn’t he talk to me himself? His response was: “I’m shy”. Those words, and his soft-spoken tone, won me over instantly.
That’s sweet. What happened next?
He asked where I was from, and said that I should visit him next time I’m in New York. I gave him my number and watched him store it in his sidekick as “Emily VA”. I felt like, Wow, he’s only going to know me for my state. I never asked for his number, I felt if it was meant to be, he would call me. We stayed in touch on the phone and when he finally came back to VA to do a show, he called and invited me. We spoke everyday from then on and saw each other often.
How did you finally get to New York?
After seeing each other off and on for 3 years, and spending our summers together, he finally asked me to move to NY to be with him. We built a friendship and we used it to develop our future. It took some time before we got physical; we talked a lot and had a lot of the same passions. I remember the first time he told me he loved me. I couldn’t believe that he said the words. It was a lot for him as well. I knew he was serious when he asked me to move in with him. He said “I have an extra room for your daughter, and bring your Yorkie too.”
I look up and catch Fabolous peeping through the side of the chestnut wood and frosted glass door. “Stop peeping” I said. He smiled and came in the room to greet us. The energy that filled the beautifully decorated room was phenomenal. There you had it—John the man, being fabulous with out being Fabulous. I was completely taken and impressed by his non-celebrity. He sat on the floor and played with Johan as Emily and myself went through some photos on her laptop. Nonchalantly, Emily said, “Your food is in the microwave.” His reply was simple, soft-spoken but so sincere “Thank you.”
Experts say women develop their taste in men at a young age. Did you know you wanted to date someone musically inclined? What kind of values do you look for in a man?
I was always into hip-hop and music, but never cared about dating an entertainer. I look for family values, the way they treat their mother, is a good sign of the way they will treat me.
Do you recommend dating a rapper?
I don’t recommend women to go seeking after a rapper. Make sure you like the person underneath the title. Rappers need love too, they are just men at the end of the day. When they are 60 they wont be rappers anymore. It bothers me when people say “Oh you date a rapper.” No, I date a very intelligent man that has a career and a future. I recommend any woman to find love. It doesn’t matter what form. Just make sure he’s single and responsible.
I know you struggle with Fabolous “the rapper.” Why do you think entertainers let their jobs come between their morals?
These guys struggle with image. Its about bottle popping, women and money. Sometimes I feel like I don’t fit into the Fabolous life, but, I’m a major part of his world. I dress him, but I’m not a part of his brand. I can tell the difference. Having a family is not a topic a rapper can rap about. I respect it, but I fall back, play my position as his life partner. I have no choice because he had that career before he met me. I love his music, I support him, but when he walks through the house door, I prefer to be greeted by John, not Fab. I know the man, not the rapper. Don’t get me wrong, he’s a good rapper, but he’s a great man.
What makes women stand by their men through all the pain? Why do we torture ourselves?
Love is so powerful. We put faith in our men. When in a relationship, we have hope that things will be better tomorrow. We base our lives on this hope. I never wanted to change my man. I want him to change for himself. I would never force him to marry me; I want him to want to marry me. I don’t recommend marriage in the twenties. This is what works for me; my relationship is designed for me. Some days are harder than others, but I know what counts and I know the grass may not be greener on the other side.
What’s big in Emily B’s world?
I’m working on a reality show with VH1. It’s so outside of my character to do this and people are shocked that I’m doing it. I can’t give to much info, but I’ll just say it’s along side a few other women whose lives are similar to mine. I’m also styling a few artists and getting ready to launch an online consignment store. My biggest job is being a mother. I get the most fulfillment from that.
After the interview, I decided to return the peep through the small crack in the door. Johan was sitting on his daddy’s lap, and Fab was reading to him aloud. What a classic moment. I looked over at Emily, she smiled. I then understood more than ever why she believes in her man. Even through all the pain, the sleepless studio nights and the millions of groupies, she continues to fight for her family. It was clear. You just never know what goes on behind closed doors.
Mashonda’s Last Words…
The element of love is somewhat the same as the element of freedom—both are worth fighting for. I look at Emily, a mother of two fantastic children, and see a strong woman with an amazing story. However, there is a struggle that exists. When in love with a person that practically lives in a false world, there might always be a battle. It is genuinely easy to give love to others, but sadly, sometimes it’s easier to forget how to love oneself. Know your limits, know what you will and won’t accept. I’ve watched Emily come into her own and grow from her experiences. My belief is this: If no one is being hurt by your decisions and you believe it is worth the fight, then fight for what your heart desires, but always know when to graciously wave the white flag.
It’s such a simple phrase, most often said without much thought of any greater meaning. But for women who are victims of domestic violence, conditioned to think no one will believe them, or that they somehow brought some horror upon themselves, those three little words can be life-changing.
Maybe even life-saving.
Ezekiel Elliott’s six-game suspension, announced Friday by the NFL, has the potential to be transformative, and I’m not referring to the Dallas Cowboys’ Super Bowl hopes. In its letter to Elliott, one of the league’s brightest young stars, the NFL made it clear that it believed the woman who had accused him of domestic abuse.
It didn’t matter that prosecutors had decided not to bring charges, a sadly common occurrence in domestic violence cases. Nor did it matter that Elliott had disputed the allegations, trashing his former girlfriend and her credibility in the process. It didn’t even matter that Jerry Jones, arguably the most powerful owner in the NFL, had tried to use his influence to affect the outcome of the investigation.
After a thorough and extensive investigation, the NFL came to a simple, yet powerful conclusion: It believed her.
“Based on the entire record, the credible evidence establishes that on multiple occasions during the week of July 16, 2016, you used physical force against (the victim) resulting in her injury,” Todd Jones, the NFL’s special counsel for conduct, wrote in the letter explaining Elliott’s suspension.
The impact of the league siding with a domestic violence victim cannot be overstated.
Yes, understanding of domestic violence has grown in the three years since the Ray Rice fiasco, and attitudes toward victims are improving. But there is still much work to do. Too many cases go unreported or unprosecuted because of a lack of evidence or a fear of not being believed. (Funny how no one demands a video of the break-in when a robbery is reported.) Too many people still assume that domestic violence is someone else’s problem, certain it couldn’t happen in their community, in their circle of friends, in their own home.
Too many women still live in terror, for themselves and for their children. Too many women are still dying, an average of three each day.
By doing a thorough investigation — the league consulted with two medical experts about “the causation and aging of certain injuries” and there were over 100 exhibits, including “thousands” of text messages and other electronic communications — the NFL sent a message that domestic violence is to be taken seriously, and that the accused isn’t the only one who deserves the benefit of the doubt.
“They have a commitment to their players, to treat the players fairly and evaluate any evidence against them fairly,” said Kim Gandy, president and CEO of the National Network to End Domestic Violence.
“But they also have taken on a responsibility to their fans and society at large to make sure that the victims are also treated fairly.”
For years, the NFL put women in harm’s way with its decisions and actions on domestic violence — or inactions, as was too often the case. Players busted for DUI or drugs often face harsher consequences.
Even after all of the promises Commissioner Roger Goodell made in the aftermath of the Rice debacle, the NFL suspended New York Giants kicker Josh Brown for all of one game last year — this despite knowing his wife had told police she’d been abused more than 20 times and its own security having to step in at the Pro Bowl after Brown showed up at her hotel room.
But Elliott’s suspension, and the league's commitment to giving his accuser a fair shake, is a positive and welcome change. Nothing in this country commands a bigger spotlight than the NFL, and its decisions have the power to drive conversations and influence opinions.
Maybe the NFL's decision, and its reasoning for it, will give a woman the courage to report her abuse or leave her abuser. Maybe it will make those so quick to blame the victim pause to consider that she might be telling the truth.
“Whenever a sports organization — whether it’s the NFL or Major League Baseball or the NBA — takes serious action backed up by evidence in a domestic violence case, it raises the profile of the issue,” Gandy said.
The NFL told a domestic violence victim it believed her. Why shouldn’t we?
Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott -- who returned from a six-game domestic violence suspension last Sunday -- said that the Cowboys' clash with the Philadelphia Eagles this Sunday matters, even with Dallas out of the playoff picture.
"I only played nine games this season; I'm itching to play football," Elliott told reporters Wednesday, via The Dallas Morning News. "I don't care if we're playing for nothing, I'm playing for something.
"I'm playing for myself, we're playing for each other, and so I'm excited to go out and play Sunday. I'm not going to have any problem waking up Sunday morning, getting ready to play. You don't have to worry about that from me or from anyone on this team."
Through the nine games Elliott has played, he's racked up 880 yards and is within range of surpassing the 1,000-yard plateau on Sunday.
"If it happens, it happens," Elliott said. "It's not like you can go out there and force that, but it definitely would be nice."
Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott was allegedly involved in a February altercation with the same woman who has previously accused him of domestic violence, according to a report from USA Today, with the incident reportedly resulting in police being called to the scene:
The woman who accused Dallas Cowboys star Ezekiel Elliott of abusing her for five days in July also called police on him months before the NFL Draft, alleging she suffered left shoulder pain from the force of Elliott pushing her up against a wall during an argument that turned physical.
An incident report obtained Friday by USA TODAY Sports from the Aventura (Fla.) Police Department said there were no visible signs of injury and that the accuser declined to go to the hospital after police responded to a call about an altercation at Elliott’s apartment Feb. 12.
Article continues below ...Elliott reportedly was not placed under arrest for the alleged altercation.
The Cowboys running back was interviewed by the NFL last month regarding domestic violence allegations from the same accuser this past summer.
No charges were brought at that time. Prosecutors stated the lack of charges were “primarily due to conflicting and inconsistent information across all the incidents resulting in concern regarding the sufficiency of the evidence to support the filing of criminal charges.”
Elliott’s alleged ex-girlfriend told police in July that Elliott assaulted her while they sat in a parked car and that she has had pain in her wrist but declined medical treatment.
Elliott, who has maintained his innocence, told authorities at the time that he never touched Thompson in “a harmful manner.” He claimed Thompson suffered the bruises in a bar fight.
Earlier this week and prior to this new report, Elliott's attorney, Frank Salzano, released a statement defending his client (via USA Today):
“For the past several days the media has elected to focus on allegations of domestic violence involving Mr. Elliott despite the Columbus, Ohio Prosecutor’s Office decision not to charge Mr. Elliott nearly two months ago.
As previously reported, the prosecutor's office conducted a thorough seven-week investigation whereby in their own words they “dotted every I and crossed every T” and concluded there was no credible evidence to file any charges against Mr. Elliott.
My office provided a mountain of exculpatory evidence demonstrating Mr. Elliott's innocence and directly contradicting all of the false allegations contained in the Accuser’s two police reports as first reported on July 22, 2016.
“Yet the media has chosen to deflect the recent negative press regarding the NFL's reported mishandling of several domestic violence matters by focusing on the NFL's prolonged investigation of Mr. Elliott.
The NFL’s interview of Mr. Elliott was conducted over four weeks ago and went unreported at the time as it was then, and still remains a non-story.
It is league protocol to conduct a separate investigation whenever there are allegations of domestic violence by one of its players.
“We firmly believe that the NFL should promptly close its investigation which is only open because of their apprehensiveness stemming from the recent scrutiny it has come under for its handling of other domestic violence matters.
Notwithstanding the forgoing, we remain firm that the NFL will clear Mr. Elliott of any wrongdoing and this matter can be finally put to rest.”

The 30-year-old actress filed for divorce from Depp on Monday and showed up to court with her lawyer on Friday, armed with photos that she claims show bruises that the 52-year-old actor gave her during the course of their relationship.

Police say the reality star who's engaged to rapper Jim Jones sent her sparring partner to the hospital after a dust-up over a sofa on Sunday morning.
Reality set in for a “Love and Hip Hop” star after an arrest for a bloody brawl in a New Jersey bar early Sunday morning.
Chrissy Lampkin was charged with aggravated assault and disorderly conduct at 2:30 a.m., said Edgewater, N.J., police.
The 42-year-old stylist’s sparring partner was hospitalized with injuries and received stitches above the eye, TMZ reported.
The altercation was reportedly sparked when Lampkin took objection to another woman sitting on the same sofa in the bar — and then accidentally bumping into someone, according to the gossip site.
Lampkin was released hours after her arrest when her fiance, rapper Jim Jones, bailed her out.
The Harlem-born Lampkin also starred with her long-time boyfriend in the VH1 reality series, “Chrissy & Mr. Jones,” on which she also served as a producer.
Bobby Brown was asked to leave Whitney Houston's funeral today ... after he got into an argument with Whitney's family over whether or not he could bring nine people into the church with him ... TMZ has learned.
Brown was spotted going into the church today in Newark, NJ ... but was seen leaving shortly thereafter.
According to our sources, Brown was invited, plus two, but instead showed up with an entourage of nine people. We're told Bobby became upset when he found out they would not seat his whole party.
Our sources say Bobby wanted to sit with his daughter, Bobbi Kristina, but Whitney's family was not having it.
We're told Rev. Jesse Jackson tried to smooth things over ... but to no avail.
Rev. Al Sharpton spoke of the incident with Bobby as he left the church, saying, "He showed nothing but love and respect for Whitney. I wish people would leave Bobby alone" (see video below).
Brown issued a statement later on, saying, "My children and I were invited to the funeral of my ex-wife Whitney Houston. We were seated by security and then subsequently asked to move on three separate occasions."
He continued, "I fail to understand why security treated my family this way and continue to ask us and no one else to move. Security then prevented me from attempting to see my daughter Bobbi-Kristina. In light of the events, I gave a kiss to the casket of my ex-wife and departed as I refused to create a scene."
Despite her rich musical lineage, the path ahead for Bobbi Kristina Brown won't be easy.
For better or worse, the 18-year-old with musical aspirations of her own will undoubtedly be compared to her mother, the incomparable Whitney Houston.
"There is no way people are not going to compare her to her mother -- not to Rihanna, to her mother -- and if she doesn't sound on par with her mother or better, people are going to say horrible things," Billy Johnson Jr., a senior editor at Yahoo! Music, told ABCNews.com. "The public scrutiny is so great."
The only child of Houston and singer Bobby Brown had been in Los Angeles with her mother to attend pre-Grammy festivities and was staying at the Beverly Hilton Hotel when Houston was found dead Saturday night in the bathtub of her hotel room.
Whitney Houston's brother-in law, Billy Watson, told ABCNews.com that Bobbi Kristina was "doing OK" after she "broke down" over the weekend and had to be taken to the hospital twice for stress and anxiety.
Bobbi Kristina, along with much of her mother's family and entourage, returned to New Jersey Monday night in advance of Houston's funeral, which is scheduled for Saturday. Her father canceled his tour to be with his daughter and reportedly traveled to New Jersey as well.
"She ... is presently with my family, including her siblings," Bobby Brown told Access Hollywood, referring to his five other children from other relationships.
On the family's reality-TV show, "Being Bobby Brown," it was Brown who often acted more like the parent in the often-erratic relationship between her mother and father. Sources close to the family say that Houston's well-known battles with addiction were also a heavy burden for her daughter to bear.
"It's very common, when a parent has an addiction, for the child to be parentalized," Dr. Drew Pinsky, host of HLN's "Dr. Drew," told ABC News. "It's almost a survival mode to try and control and maintain that addictive parent safely, the child takes on the role of parent or parents."
When stories surfaced last year that Bobbi Kristina Brown might have started using drugs herself, it was her father who came to her defense with a strong denial, telling media outlets, "She doesn't do that."
Drew says Brown should be careful about how she handles the inevitable fallout from her mother's death.
"When people are stressed, when they turn to substances, is when they can turn the switch on for addiction," he said. "That is my greatest fear for Bobbi Kristina."
Mother and daughter had begun working together on songs in the recording studio, according to Us Weekly.
With Houston's death Saturday, the world is eager to see -- and hear -- more from Bobbi-Kris, as she is known to her family.
"She idolized Whitney," a source told US Weekly, and "wanted to be just like her mother."
Brown comes from a musical family. Her father is a former member of New Edition, her grandmother is gospel legend Cissy Houston and her cousin is 1960s pop icon Dionne Warwick.
"People want to know if she has the gift," Yahoo! Music's Johnson said.
Brown posted a video in September of her singing a capella Adele's "Someone Like You" on her Twitter page.
Johnson thought the aspiring singer had shown some improvement since the last time he heard her, performing alongside her mother on "Good Morning America" in 2009.
But Us Weekly's senior editor Ian Drew wasn't sure Brown had grown enough.
"She's not her mother, but she's not the worst singer either," he told ABCNews.com. "With the right songs and auto tuning anyone can be big.
"I would encourage her to take her time," Johnson said. "People said the same thing about Michael Jackson's children. She needs to sort out things in life a little bit more before rushing into this adult world.
"I think she's already dealing with a lot," he said, "and I hate to see her end up in a similar type of situation as her mother."
A heartbroken WHITNEY HOUSTON will put her daughter BOBBI KRISTINA into rehab after The ENQUIRER published world exclusive photos in our print edition of the troubled teen snorting cocaine.
Crushed by our report that her daughter - known to friends as "Krissi" - is hopelessly addicted to cocaine and alcohol, Whitney begged her: "Don't let drugs ruin your life the way they ruined mine," sources say.
The Grammy-winning diva and her ex-husband, Krissi's father Bobby Brown, are blaming each other for their only child's problems, according to insiders.
"Whitney was devastated over the photos showing Krissi using cocaine, and The ENQUIRER story that quoted her telling friends, 'I'm just like my mother,'" a friend divulged. "She called a family meeting and sobbed as she told Krissi, 'I don't want to lose you.'"
The singer, 47, also canceled plans to celebrate Krissi's 18th birthday on March 4 in Atlantis, the luxury resort in the Bahamas, the source revealed.
"Whitney called Bobby, and they agreed that Krissi needs rehab," the friend said. "They also agreed on a tough-love move to shake Krissi up, and Whitney returned a Lexus convertible that she'd bought for Krissi's birthday."
Despite her parents' decision, Krissi is fighting the idea of rehab, said the source.
"Krissi is denying that she has a problem. She says that she does cocaine for fun and isn't addicted," said the source.
Meanwhile, Whitney and Bobby - who have both battled serious drug habits - are blaming each other for Krissi's problems, sources say.
"Bobby reminded Whitney that she used to have drugs all over their house," a friend divulged. "He also accused her of being 'coked up' in public, looking like a mess and setting a bad example all along to their daughter," the friend said.
But "The Bodyguard" star was quick to snap back at her bad boy ex, said the source.
"Whitney told Bobby that he did drugs too and got into more legal trouble than she ever did," the friend said.
Bobby, 42, has been arrested for DUI, possession of marijuana, driving without a license, probation violations and misdemeanor battery for slapping Whitney. The former "New Edition" singer, who has five children with four different women, has also been dragged into court numerous times for failure to pay child support.
"Bobby and Whitney are pointing fingers at each other, but the truth is that they're both responsible. Krissi has been around while her parents and their friends were drinking and drugging ever since she was a little girl," said another pal.
Krissi was only 12 when she was photographed drinking from a wine glass as her parents looked on.
In 2008 she was admitted to a psychiatric ward after attempting to slash her wrists with a razor blade. As The ENQUIRER reported, Krissi's suicide bid came after she tried to stab her mother during a heated argument.
And she was just 17 when a former boyfriend - who dated her for 2 1/2 years - snapped the coke-snorting photos that appeared in The ENQUIRER. He also claimed that he saw Krissi smoke pot and guzzle beer and the potent grain alcohol Everclear.
After The ENQUIRER's explosive story hit newsstands, Krissi took to her Twitter account to blast her ex-boyfriend. But she admitted that it was her in the photos, and said her mother "comforted me to the max."
Now with Bobby's blessing, Whitney is planning to send Krissi to an outpatient rehab program, said the source.

The Evidence Was Crystal Clear! It Was The Jury Who Dropped The Ball.
One of the jurors in the Casey Anthony trial has decided to go public with his side of the story -- but TMZ has learned, he's not talkin' ... unless the price is right ... and 5-figure offers are already pouring in.
A publicist for the unidentified juror is sending a letter to media outlets, claiming, "Our client -- a married, college-educated, 33-year-old white male with two young children -- is willing to consider granting one or more media interviews so long as the opportunities are paid."
We're told the juror has already received multiple offers from big news operations, including at least one major network. Sources tell us ... the high offers are in the "mid 5-figures."
Paid interviews are a hazy moral territory for obvious reasons -- and the publicist, Rick French, admits, paying for sit-downs is "always a sticky subject and believe me, I understand the delicacy of this type of negotiation."
But French insists ... sticky or not, his client ain't budging -- "He will not entertain any offers that don't include compensation for a myriad of reasons."
The 12 jurors who acquitted Casey Anthony of murder yesterday chose not to speak to reporters and they were not identified by name. To guard against bias, the jury was selected not from where the crime took place, in Orange County, Fla., but in neighboring Pinellas County. They were sequestered in an Orlando hotel for more than five weeks. Here is what is known about them, their comments from jury selection and the charges and penalties that had to weigh against Anthony.
Juror No. 1 White woman in her 60s, retired, believes in the concept “innocent until proven guilty,” condones the death penalty. “I value life. I also value the criminal justice system as it has evolved.”
Juror No. 2 Black man in his 30s, information technology technician, has 4-year-old daughter and 9-year-old son. Didn’t want to be on the jury. Opposes the death penalty. “God is the one that makes the final judgment.”
Juror No. 3 White woman, 32, single, lives with parents, attending nursing school. Only juror who said she’d never heard of the case. “My ignorance works in my favor at this point.”
Juror No. 4 Black woman, about 40, doesn’t watch the news. Has no opinion on the death penalty.
Juror No. 5 White woman in her 50s or 60s, retired nurse, has son and grandson, has heard about the case but formed no opinion on it. “I guess I believe in the death penalty. I’d have to know a lot of facts before I really considered it.”
Juror No. 6 White man, 33, chef, married with two children. Didn’t want to serve on the jury. Could recommend death sentence. “If the law dictated it, I would be able to follow it.”
Juror No. 7 White woman, 41, divorced, no children. Recalls hearing “something about Universal [Studios, where Anthony falsely claimed she was working] and a baby sitter.” Didn’t want to serve, but said she would because “It’s how I was raised.”
Juror No. 8 White woman in her 50s, service representative for Verizon, heard little about the case, says she has moderate attitude about death penalty.
Juror No. 9 White man, 53, never married, semi-retired, is caregiver to a stroke victim. Supports the death penalty “in the proper situation.”
Juror No. 10 White man, 57, billing representative for Verizon, never married. Remembers hearing about a “young lady accused of killing her child.” Says the death penalty is “a necessary option.”
Juror No. 11 White man in his 30s, teaches physical education and health, said case was talked about in his school’s teachers lounge, with most saying Anthony was guilty. Said voting for the death penalty would be difficult. “I guess I could consider it, but having to make that decision would be very tough for me.”
Juror No. 12 White woman between 35 and 45, married, has two children. Previously worked at day care center. Adamant supporter of the death penalty and eager to serve on Anthony jury. “My kids think I’m a great mom,” she said on her juror questionnaire.

She says, "Jesse and I had a conversation about it and he says a lot of his friends have the tattoo." (Is that an inside joke? That statement could use context, including an updated assessment on McGee's believability.
She has said she's Amish, as well as a third-generation French Canadian.
Is that even possible?) Suing for custody of their children, her ex-husband said she had "child block magnets on the refrigerator that spell out 'White Power'," and that her older son from a different relationship "is Jewish and she think it's funny that she makes the Nazi salute."
Then we have Jesse's ex-wife Janine Lindemulder, porn star and mother of his children. Her new husband is Jeremy Aikman, a multiple-time felon and reportedly "an admitted skinhead." Jesse and Sandra fought to revoke Lindemulder's custody, citing her marriage to Aikman as evidence of a negative environment for children. (Or, um, anyone.) So Jesse James has a degree of separation from these people—but why are there so many of them in the first place? How naive could he have been to his friends' racist and antisemitic ties and leanings?
Finally, Crushable notes concern over Jesse's West Coast Choppers logo resembling Germany's Iron Cross, which appears in Nazi memorabilia. (Albeit elsewhere, too.) Are we whipping ourselves into a paranoid frenzy, or is this guy uncomfortably close to the white supremacy movement? Way to harsh our racially harmonious Blind Side mellow, Jesse.
President Barack Obama says it doesn't matter how many times Tiger Woods flopped in the hay with other women -- he's still gonna be one badass golfing machine.
Obama told Fox News today ... while Tiger betrayed his family -- and has lots of unresolved issues -- "he's still going to be a terrific golfer."
