It is with epic sadness that I inform serious ladies your day is over. The rat race has been done in by the drive-by boob job. The Ivy League, once the portal through which young things improved their minds, has been supplanted in cultural value by the red-velvet rope of the VIP cocktail lounge.

As the ballad of Tiger Woods finishes its second week, the world has changed. Now, every housewife and diner waitress is intimately acquainted with the ascendant breed of woman who dominates our age, leading a life to which we all can aspire.

Gold diggers. The type is as old as sex itself. But this new brand of digger has taken her calling to an art form, legitimizing what used to be called the world's oldest profession.

Each of Tiger's expanding bevy of interchangeable cuties has a few things in common: they're attractive — in a shopping-mall-obvious kind of way; they're eminently available; and they've adopted glamorous-sounding career titles such as "VIP club hostess" and "aspiring reality-TV star." Try majoring in that at Barnard.

Most importantly, they're not too bright. After a day running the free world, Bill Clinton didn't care to be mentally challenged, either, when seeking a place to park his cigar.

Some of Tiger's kittens have hired publicists. Cocktail waitress Jaimee Grubbs joined the VIP circuit herself, landing a prime table at a celeb-choked Los Angeles nightclub, a bit of success akin to winning the lottery.

How far can they take their easy virtue? With publicity and imagination, there is no limit.

Tiger's conquests are divided into two categories — The Pros and The Talent. Older gals in their mid-30s and facing their expiration dates are Pros (formerly madams) who help procure young things for their clients. The talent is the talent.

# The grandma of Pros is Rachel Uchitel, 34, the 9/11 widow-turned-"VIP hostess," who provided Tiger with gals from here to Australia, after taking her turn. Rachel gave an insider's peek to The Post's Emily Smith, yammering about how she hired a girl to hang with a big shot on a trip to Europe, with disastrous results:

"She passed out from too many Quaaludes," Rachel said, horrified. "The guy came downstairs and was like, 'Rachel, I don't know you, but you brought hookers here, and they are not even like hookers? This girl passed out on my bed. It was, like, gross.'"

Tiger was said to be negotiating a hush-up settlement with her, but she's already sold herself to OK magazine — so I'm not sure what exactly she's hushing up. But I can guess.

# Kalika Moquin, 27, set up Tiger in Vegas with females who looked as he likes them. This lucrative calling is legal in all 50 states.

# Jamie Jungers, 26, is a lingerie model who was hired to "rub elbows," and presumably other parts, with high-rollers in Vegas, where she says she carried on a torrid, and profitable, Tiger affair.

# Jaimee Grubbs, 24, a Los Angeles cocktail waitress and contestant on VH1's "Tool Academy" only looks dumb. She saved Tiger's text messages during a 31-month affair, which got him in trouble with the wife. Oh, and she loved him.

# Mindy Lawton, 33, a pancake-house waitress, made up for advancing years with her appetite for spankings and hair-pulling, a tale she was happy to sell to a British tabloid.

# Holly Sampson, 36, is a porn actress who starred in "OMG, Stop Tickling Me!" Never stop.

# Porn star Veronica Siwik-Daniels, aka Joslyn James, favored simultaneous sexual partners before the camera. Now that's talent.

There also is an unnamed 26-year-old Orlando cocktail waitress, a British TV broadcaster and a "sex-addicted cougar."

These gals are tanned, rested and lawyered up. Expect them to go for the gold.

A VIP concierge who has worked with Uchitel says “Rachel Uchitel works for Tiger the minute he gets off the plane wherever he is: from dinner, to photos, to nightclubs, to drugs, to girls—whatever he wants “Uchitel’s main job was to provide women for Tiger during his globetrotting excursions.”

The concierge estimates that Tiger kept her on retainer for about $10,000-15,000 per month to handle his dirty business, and that Uchitel would fly girls in from Los Angeles to parties in Vegas for men like Tiger. Apparently, another purported mistress—Kalika Moquin—played a similar role.

The lesson is “Athletes have utilized the VIP service to engage in their affairs (and meet possible mistresses) for the sake of (supposed) privacy, philandering without the hassle of having to do any work themselves to land these women.”

Tiger Woods' wife Elin Nordegren moves out after reports of mistresses

No. 7 wasn't so lucky after all.

According to a report, Tiger Woods' wife Elin Nordegren has reportedly moved out of their Windermere mansion -- just after Woods was linked to an alleged seventh mistress, porn star Holly Sampson.

Nordegren is living near their $2.6 million home in another house, neighbors and 'other sources close to Tiger' tell RadarOnline.com.

Woods' other New York girl Cori Rist spent Sunday holed up in her Chelsea apartment after she was outed by the Daily News.

Rist is now one of at least seven women linked to the golf world's top swordsman.

The 31-year-old leggy and busty blond spent Sunday calling friends, saying, "My involvement with Tiger Woods has just surfaced," according to a pal.

Rist also had to explain the sudden media attention to her 7-year-old son, who has idolized Woods since his mother got him an autographed golf club from the Grand Slam-winning legend.

The alleged mistress' ex-husband, Neil Santos, stopped at her apartment Sunday night to drop off their son but refused to comment.

Woods met Rist at New York hot spot Butter last year, The News' George Rush and Joanna Molloy reported Sunday.

"They went on to another party," an insider told The News. "One thing led to another, and, pretty soon, Tiger was flying her to hook up with him on tour."

Rist said she is declining to comment "at this time" on the fling, which lasted about six months, sources said. She was last spotted at Butter with Woods and a party of friends on a Monday night four weeks ago, a source said.

Rist is said to have tired of being secreted around the country for her hookups with Woods.

"Tiger would typically get a large suite at a hotel. Someone would book Cori an adjacent room, so she wouldn't be seen coming into his room," an insider told Rush and Molloy.

"He would get the presidential suite," the source continued. "It was the ultimate in luxury. The trouble is, he never wanted to leave the room."

Hailing from the small rural town of Rossford, Ohio, Rist moved to the city determined tobecome a fashion model, but the closest she got to her dream was modeling swimsuits and activewear in catalogues, a friend said.

She and Santos married in 2002, but by 2005 the relationship was starting to sour. A friend said Rist began taking mysterious trips around the country, frequenting city nightclubs and dressing in expensive clothes and jewelry.

After her divorce was finalized in January 2008, she met Woods, she told friends. She and Santos are battling in Family Court over custody of their son, records show.

As Woods remained in seclusion Sunday, talk-show queen Oprah Winfrey reportedly called him to offer advice - and an outlet to tell his side of the story. Image experts said it could be a good first step toward repairing his image.

While most of the women who have come out of the woodwork were often flown around the world to meet him, Woods didn't have to stray far from the comforts of his Florida home to find booze and blonds who were not his wife.He found plenty of homegrown action at Orlando clubs just minutes from his family home in Windermere, Fla., The News has learned.

He was a regular in the VIP rooms at Blue Martini and Club 23, where the billion-dollar man has been known to drop $1,500 a night at the swanky joints.

"When Tiger goes out in Orlando he certainly goes to Blue Martini," a local club insider told The News. "Any rich and horny guy from the suburbs can go there and leave with a girl on each arm."

The cavernous party spot is full of intimate corners where regulars say Woods was often seen with packs of women around him.

TMZ.com reported that nearby Club 23 even has a private section known as "The Tiger Room" because Woods spent so many nights there.

Reports of Woods' close-to-home dalliances come amid reports Sunday that he also hooked up with an Orlando waitress, Mindy Lawton, in a church parking lot and even his home while his then-pregnant wife was out of town.

She told London's News of the World that he "wanted to spank me and loved pulling my hair as we had sex."

Other reports linked Woods to 36-year-old blond porn star Holly Sampson. Britain's Daily Mail reported that the Los Angeles hottie - star of such recent adult films as "OMG, Stop Tickling Me" and "Flying Solo 2" - is "not denying she bedded Tiger."

"She has no comment on the matter," Sampson's Denver-based lawyer Andrew Contiguglia told The News.

If true, Sampson would be lucky No. 7 on the list of purported Woods' bedmates, which includes hot-bodied blonds and brunettes with an average age of 30.

The list started with big-lipped beauty Rachel Uchitel, a Manhattan club hostess who hoofed it to Los Angeles to meet lawyer Gloria Allred in the early days of the now-epic Woods scandal that first broke the day after Thanksgiving. Uchitel has both denied and confirmed a relationship with Woods.

Woods' scorecard of girls also includes:

- Jaimee Grubbs, former contestant on VH1's "Tool Academy" who has admitted to an affair.

- Kalika Moquin, a 27-year-old Las Vegas nightclub executive, who denies a relationship.

- Jamie Jungers, a Vegas cocktail waitress who allegedly had an 18-month fling with Woods.

The sex scandal erupted in the early-morning hours after Thanksgiving when the golfer crashed his SUV outside his house - apparently after an argument with his wife over another woman.

It’s starting to become difficult to keep track of Tiger Woods’ trail! But don’t worry, if you’re as overwhelmed as we are, Extra has compiled a list of the 10 women Tiger’s allegedly been linked to in order to avoid confusion.

1. Cori Rist: According to the New York Post, Cori became involved with Tiger after meeting him at a Manhattan club. The New Yorker’s ex husband’s girlfriend said of Cori and Tiger’s involvement, “I am not surprised at all.”

2. Mindy Lawton: Mindy, a 33-year-old pancake-house waitress, claimed Tiger dumped her in 2007 after they were caught having sex in his SUV outside her trailer in April 2007 by the National Enquirer. Over the weekend, Mindy told a British tabloid, “Tiger just used me as his sex toy.”

3. Jaimee Grubbs: Reportedly this 24-year-old Las Vegas cocktail waitress has said she’s had 20 sexual encounters with Tiger in the past 3 years. Tiger left her a voicemail asking her to delete her name from her cell phone’s outgoing message because his wife Elin Nordegren knew about the affair.

4. Rachel Uchitel: A friend of Tiger’s paid for the 33-year-old’s plane ticket last month to meet Tiger at an Australian tournament. Tiger allegedly paid Rachel “at least a million dollars” to say quiet about their affair, according to Rachel’s lawyer’s daughter.

5. Kalika Moquin: Friends of the 27-year-old Vegas club employee have told the media that Kalika is no longer involved with Tiger.

8. British TV Broadcaster: The London Sun reports Tiger would “hook up” with this unnamed woman while in England and “his fling…was the talk of the PGA.”

9. Older Woman: British reports state that Tiger also had an affair with a “sex-addicted cougar.” Not much else is known about her yet.

10. Holly Sampson: This 36-year-old porn actress has been involved with Tiger according to The Sun. Holly has neither denied nor confirmed the reports.

Tiger Woods offers wife Elin Nordegren $80M to stay for 7 years in revised prenup



Tiger Woods is finding out the hard way that "I'm sorry" is not enough.

After publicly apologizing for his "Transgressions," the golfing great reportedly offered to give his wife, Elin Nordegren, a cool $5 million to keep her from walking - and taking their two young kids with her.

Battered by reports he cheated with three winsome women, Woods was also revising a prenuptial agreement that would give the former bikini model another $55 million just to stay with him two more years, according to The Daily Beast.

If Nordegren can hack being Mrs. Tiger Woods for at least seven years, she gets $80 million, a "lawyer familiar with the couple's negotiations" told Daily Beast reporter Gerald Posner.

The revelation Woods might be using money to buy him at least the appearance of love came as the most recent of his purported mistresses - 34-year-old New York party girl Rachel Uchitel - suddenly cancelled a press conference during which she was supposed to dish on their dalliances.

Her celebrity lawyer, Gloria Allred, said in a statement they pulled the plug on the presser "due to unforeseen circumstances."

Asked if there are plans to reschedule, Allred told a Daily News reporter, "No comment."

Later, an independent source confirmed to The News what Uchitel had at one point hotly denied - that she and Woods had been carrying on a torrid affair which began months ago.

And while Uchitel claims it was just a coincidence that she and Woods were in Australia at the same time last month, TMZ.com reported that Wood's childhood pal, Bryon Bell, bought her the ticket.

Then Bell flew with Uchitel to Melbourne, where both had rooms at the Crown Towers Hotel, the gossip site reported.

Meanwhile, a Las Vegas nightclub executive said to have romped with Woods denied sleeping with the golfer.

"Sometimes I'll deal with celebrities on my job on a day-to-day basis just to touch base with people," Kalika Moquin, 27, told Us Weekly.

"But it's completely untrue that there's anything more than a professional, 'How are you doing? Are you enjoying your time in Vegas?' conversation."

Moquin didn't confirm or deny an affair when she was questioned earlier by Life & Style magazine about hooking up in Sin City "a bunch of times" during the weekend of Oct. 23.

Another one of Woods' reported mistresses, 24-year-old cocktail waitress Jaimee Grubbs, backed up her claims by giving Us Weekly a bunch of seemingly damning text messages and voicemails.

Woods' half-sister, Royce, said she was "surprised" by the reports of her brother's adulterous affairs.

"But I do wish Tiger the best," she told a News reporter.

"I would like everyone to know that my love for Tiger is unconditional, and I wish he and my sister-in-law Elin the best."

Woods didn't go into details when he apologized on his Web site Wednesday, but he defended his wife and called reports of domestic violence "utterly false and malicious."

Nordegren went ballistic when she caught Woods texting Uchitel an hour before the Nov. 27 crash, TMZ.com has reported.

Woods' mom, Kultida, and his mother-in-law, Barbro Holmberg, were apparently in the Orlando-area mansion when the golfer stormed out and slammed his SUV into a fire hydrant.

A neighbor said she saw them come out of the house to investigate, and a voice that resembles Woods' mother is heard in the background during a 911 call saying loudly, "What happened?"

Neighbor Kimberly Harris told investigators that when she ran out to see what happened, a barefoot Woods was already out of the SUV and "snoring" in the middle of the street while his wife watched over him.

"She was actually very quiet, just kind of in shock," Harris's brother, Jarius Adams, told the Florida Highway Patrol in an audio interview released yesterday.

The siblings said they did not see Nordegren smash the rear window of the SUV with a golf club to get Woods out, as a local police chief reported.

They also said they didn't smell any alcohol on Woods or his wife.

"No alcohol, no any other kind of drug whatsoever, none" Adams said.

Woods, 33, later escaped criminal charges for the wreck, but he totalled his squeaky-clean image.

The Daily Beast has learned exclusively that the beleaguered golfer is negotiating an immediate $5 million payout to his wife—and revising her prenup to give her as much as $55 million more to stay with him two more years.

Traditionally it’s a divorce that makes a financial dent for a wealthy athlete like Tiger Woods. But it appears that in Tiger’s case, it’s going to cost him to stay with his wife, Elin Nordegren, the mother of their two children.

In a statement Wednesday, Tiger said, “I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart.” Words are evidently not enough to mollify Elin: The Daily Beast has learned the details of what it’s costing Tiger to keep his marriage intact. A lawyer familiar with the hastily conducted negotiations of the past 72 hours said that as of Wednesday evening Elin has been offered a $5 million payment immediately if she agrees to stay—and her prenuptial agreement is being revised to give her up to an additional $55 million.

When the couple married on Oct. 5, 2004, at the Sandy Lane resort in Barbados, Elin signed a prenuptial agreement reportedly worth $20 million after 10 years of marriage, not considered a large payout for someone who was already as successful as Tiger by then. (The tightlipped Woods camp, almost obsessive about releasing any personal information after Tiger’s blundering interviews with GQ in 1997, has never acknowledged the existence of the first prenup, although it’s been widely reported).

But in light of a string of women coming forward to say they had affairs with Tiger since his marriage, Elin has demanded that the prenup be rewritten, Chicago Sun-Times columnist Bill Zwecker reported Wednesday. “The links legend’s spouse is reportedly being paid a hefty seven-figure amount—immediately transferred [sic] into an account she alone controls—to stick with her husband,” Zwecker wrote. “At this point, the couple needed to remain married for 10 years in order for Woods’ wife to collect a splitsville settlement of $20 million. I’m being told that time frame has been shortened—and the dollar amount increased ‘substantially.’”

The lawyer familiar with the couple’s negotiations told The Daily Beast that Tiger also has agreed to shorten the original prenup to seven years from the date of marriage, meaning it will vest in another two. And the revised agreement provides for a staggered schedule of payments spread out over five years that could be worth upward of $75 million. So for Elin to collect $80 million, she’ll need to stay with Tiger another seven years, be a dutiful wife in showing up with him at social events and in public as if they were still the perfect couple, and sign a nondisclosure form that will prevent her from ever telling her story. Even if she lasts only two more years, she’ll still walk away with nearly twice what she was entitled to under the original prenup.

Tiger’s advisers, who have successfully gotten the couple into counseling sessions, believe that keeping the marriage intact will help Tiger keep his corporate sponsors and bolster his dented image. Elin is herself considered a good asset. She’s never been a publicity hound or used her marriage to make money through self-help books, lecture series, or QVC makeup and jewelry lines. Rather, she’s just maintained a low profile and dedicated herself to being a spouse and mother. As opposed to some other celebrities, like Tom Cruise or Angelina Jolie, Elin has never pushed her kids into the public eye. So, now, if she is persuaded to stay, she knows little will be the same. Her quiet life is finished. A Los Angeles-based paparazzo told me that a photo of Elin and the children would fetch $250,000. Some agencies are offering $100,000 just for tips that pay off with photos.

There’s a price to having a life turned upside down in the public eye. That’s what the couple is hammering out now. Since Tiger Inc. is in crisis, it’s likely she will accept a deal rather than allow her anger and sense of humiliation to prevail. The Woods camp is about to pull off the most expensive “stand by your man” stand ever. (Attempts for any comment from the Woods camp were not successful).

TIGER Woods is staring at a $300 million payout if his marriage breaks down after another alleged mistress came out of the woodwork yesterday.

Reports last night said Woods' wife, Swedish model Elin Nordegren, has a huge prenuptial agreement that would make it the most expensive celebrity divorce in history.

Overwhelmed by evidence of multiple extramartial affairs, the superstar golfer admitted to "transgressions" that had hurt his wife and children and ruined his public image, the Herald Sun reports.

The admission came as another nightclub hostess, Kalika Moquin, 27, alleged a seven-month affair with Woods.

A picture obtained by celebrity website TMZ showed him in a Las Vegas nightclub at 1.30am on October 4 with a woman who was not his wife.

Woods and Nordegren were having intensive marriage counselling sessions yesterday, with a record divorce payout at stake.

Michael Jordan holds that record with his wife, Juanita, receiving an estimated $150 million settlement.

Greg Norman is not far behind with a $128 million payout to his wife of three decades, Laura Andrassy.

It also emerged yesterday that New York party girl Rachel Uchitel, who stayed at Crown during Woods' Melbourne visit last month, was there as the billionaire's guest.

In another twist, sources revealed Woods burned the candle at both ends at Crown, hitting the tables in private gaming suites at the top of the Crown Towers Hotel.

Woods abandoned the Masters gala dinner, where he was the guest of honour, to join US friends in the gambling session. He left his mum Kutilda to dine alone with Premier John Brumby.

A humble Woods did not respond to specific allegations yesterday, but admitted he had brought shame on his family.

"I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart," he said.

"I have not been true to my values and the behaviour my family deserves.

"I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect."

Woods, 33, posted the extraordinary admission on his website amid mounting proof of his philandering with women he met in nightclubs from New York to Las Vegas.

The most damning evidence was a voicemail message recorded two days before last weekend's car crash that exposed his torrid private life.

A man believed to be Woods is heard telling LA cocktail waitress Jaimee Grubbs, 24, to expect an angry phone call from his wife.

"Hey, it's, uh, it's Tiger. I need you to do a huge favour. Can you please take your name off your phone? My wife went through my phone and may be calling you."

A nervous-sounding Woods ends the message with: "Do this for me. Huge. Quickly."

Grubbs, a reality TV contestant, claimed a 31-month romance with Woods.

His sponsors - including Nike, Gatorade and Gillette - are sticking by Woods.

And Mr Brumby said he'd welcome him back to defend his Australian Masters title next year.

But golf was the last thing on Wood's mind yesterday as he and his wife bunkered down in their Florida mansion with marriage counselors.

Tiger Woods’ wife blasted his mistress in a furious phone call when she found out about their affair.

Elin Nordegren phoned Jaimee Grubbs from a blocked number. When the 24-year-old cocktail waitress asked who Elin was, she replied: "You know who this is because you’re f***ing my husband".

Details of the phone call emerged as Woods made an astonishing apology last night, admitting cheating on Elin, 29, and letting down his family.

The golfer admitted to “transgressions” after his car crash sparked a string of allegations he had slept with other women.

The apology followed Grubbs’ claim she had a three-year affair with Woods and a US report named another woman – Las Vegas club promoter Kalika Moquin – as another mistress.

A magazine said she and Woods had “hooked up a bunch of times”.

In his apology Woods admits to “personal sins” and hailed his Swedish wife, with whom he has two sons, for showing “more grace than anyone could possibly expect”.

He also vowed to be a better husband and dad.

Woods, 33, has been holed up inside his luxury home in Florida since the crash on Friday, the full extent of which was revealed yesterday in a police report.

Woods pulled out of his drive and drove over a concrete kerb and on to grass at around 2.25am.

He drove over the kerb again and swerved once more on to a grass verge.

The report states: “As a result, the right side of vehicle one collided with a row of hedges.”

He tried to get back on the street, jumping a kerb again and on to another verge, where he smashed into a fire hydrant. Incredibly, he kept going, crossed over a neighbour’s drive and hit a tree.

A diagram released by the police showed the short but erratic journey which ended with Woods knocked unconscious.

Pictures show his £35,000 Cadillac Escalade’s mangled bumper and two smashed rear windows. It has been claimed Elin smashed the windows in a fit of rage.

Woods had told a friend hours before the crash that Elin had “gone ghetto” on him and scratched his face, according to a report on website TMZ.

The website also said Woods later told the pal he needed to buy a huge diamond for his wife. In a phone call after the crash, Woods reportedly told the friend, “I have to get a Kobe Special.” Asked what a Kobe Special was, Woods replied: “A house on a finger.”

He was apparently referring to the £3million purple diamond ring basketball star Kobe Bryant gave his wife after he was charged with sexually assaulting a woman.

Another US report yesterday claimed Woods had stormed out of his home after a row with Elin and was heard by neighbours screaming: “You’ve ruined our Thanksgiving! Are you happy now?”

It was earlier claimed Elin chased after his car with a golf club after a bust-up over claims of a fling with club hostess Rachel Uchitel, who has denied the reports.

In yet another blow to the image of golf’s superstar, pictures emerged yesterday of him with a mystery woman in a Las Vegas nightclub on October 4.

Grubbs, from California, has claimed she had sex 20 times with Woods since 2007 and exchanged more than 300 flirty texts.

She also revealed a voicemail, in which Woods begs her to change her ID name on her phone as he thought his wife was checking his messages.

Woods allegedly called Grubbs three days before the crash to warn her his wife had “gone through his phone and may call you”.

A voice that sounds like Woods, said: “Hey, it’s Tiger. I need you to do me a huge favour. Can you please take your name off your phone?

“My wife went through my phone and maybe calling you. So if you can, please take your name off that. Just have it as a number on the voicemail. You got to do this for me. Huge. Quickly. Bye.”

Last night the message was posted online. Meanwhile Grubbs has said: “He told me last month we will always be together.

“He gave me the impression he and his wife had separate rooms.”

She claimed he texted her in September to say: “I will wear you out soon. You just need some attention from me.”

The last time they met was two months ago. She claimed: “We cuddled, watched Angels and Demons, then had sex. It was very romantic.”

A pal of Moquin alleged in Life & Style: “Tiger told Kalika married life isn’t all it’s built

up to be.” Moquin, 27, said: “It’s not appropriate for me to comment.”

Meanwhile, Florida Highway Patrol said it had completed its investigation and would not bring criminal charges.

Woods will pay a £100 fine for careless driving with four points on his licence.

Property damage caused by the crash was £2,000 while his car needs £4,800 worth of repairs.

I realise there are some who don’t share my view on that. But for me, the virtue of privacy is one that must be protected in matters that are intimate and within one’s own family.

Personal sins should not require press releases and problems within a family shouldn’t have to mean public confessions. Whatever regrets I have about letting my family down have been shared with and felt by us alone. I have given this a lot of thought and I believe there is a point at which I must stick to that principle even though it’s difficult.

I will strive to be a better person and the husband and father my family deserves. For those who have support-ed me over the years, I offer my profound apology.

In this week's issue of Us Weekly (on newstands now) Grubbs details their 31-month affair. She reveals that they first hooked up in April 2007, and went on to have 20 sexual encounters.

She also shares her evidence, including more than 300 racy text messages. One from Woods begins: "I will wear you out..."

"I loved how we got along," Grubbs tells Us Weekly. "But I knew, in the back of my mind, there could never be just us. There would always be the wife, or somebody else."

The billionaire golfer wed model Elin Nordegren, 29, in 2004; they have a two-year old daughter, Sam, and a nine-month old son, Charlie. In response to multiple women coming forward and claiming to have had affairs with him, Tiger Woods has released a statement on his Web site in which he expresses regrets for his "Transgressions".

"I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart," Woods said. "I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone."

After making a plea for privacy, Woods ended the statement by saying, "I will strive to be a better person and the husband and father that my family deserves. For all of those who have supported me over the years, I offer my profound apology."

The statement came one day after news emerged regarding the cover story of Us Weekly magazine, which hits newsstands Wednesday, alleging that a Los Angeles cocktail waitress had a 31-month affair with the world's No. 1 golfer.

Jaimee Grubbs told the magazine she met Woods at a Las Vegas nightclub the week after the 2007 Masters — two months before Woods' wife, Elin Nordegren, gave birth to their first child. Grubbs claims to have proof in 300 text messages.

On Wednesday, the magazine published what it said was a voicemail provided by Grubbs that she said was left by Woods on Nov. 24, three days before his early morning car crash. In the voicemail, a man says to Grubbs:

"Hey, it's, uh, it's Tiger. I need you to do me a huge favor. Um, can you please, uh, take your name off your phone. My wife went through my phone. And, uh, may be calling you. If you can, please take your name off that and, um, and what do you call it just have it as a number on the voicemail, just have it as your telephone number. That's it, OK. You gotta do this for me. Huge. Quickly. All right. Bye."

The Associated Press could not confirm Woods was the caller.

Woods' agent, Mark Steinberg, did not immediately return an e-mail requesting comment.

An AP reporter went to a residence in Escondido, California, seeking comment from Grubbs. A person who identified himself as Cody came to the door but didn't open it, said she wasn't there.

When asked whether Us Weekly paid Grubbs for her story, spokeswoman Cheryl Crowley said, "As a policy, we do not comment on obtaining stories or photo transactions."

Grubbs wasn't the only woman to allege an affair with Woods. Reports in Life & Style magazine and the New York Post said a woman named Kalika Moquin had also come forward.

The magazine, quoting an associate of Moquin's, said that Woods "wasn't happy in his marriage or his home life and that there was just so much pressure on him."

"They've hooked up a bunch of times" over the months, the source said of Woods and Moquin. "Tiger told Kalika that married life isn't all it's built up to be."

Another source told the Post that Moquin and Woods have been an item "for some time."

Woods, meanwhile, remained in seclusion in the exclusive gated community of Isleworth, while some of the world's top golfers were in Southern California preparing for the start of a tournament he hosts. Woods, citing injuries from the crash, issued a statement Monday saying he would not attend or play in the Chevron World Challenge.

Woods, who was briefly unconscious after the crash, never spoke with investigators, who asked to see him on three different occasions. Instead, he provided his driver's license, vehicle registration and proof of insurance, as required by Florida law.

The patrol "is not pursuing criminal charges in this matter nor is there any testimony or other evidence to support any additional charges of any kind other than the charge of careless driving," said Sgt. Kim Montes, a spokesman for the highway patrol. "Despite the celebrity status of Mr. Woods, the Florida Highway Patrol has completed its investigation in the same professional manner it strives to complete each traffic investigation."

After consulting with the local prosecutor's office, investigators also decided there was insufficient evidence to issue a subpoena that would have given them access to records from his hospital visit after the crash, Montes said.

The allegations in Us Weekly of an affair with Grubbs came on the heels of last week's National Enquirer story alleging Woods had been seeing New York nightclub hostess Rachel Uchitel, who has denied it.

That story came out just two days before Woods wrecked his SUV in the early morning hours following Thanksgiving. The accident — and Woods' refusal to answer questions — fueled speculation among tabloids and gossip Web sites about a possible dispute between Woods and his wife, who told police she used a golf club to smash the back windows of the SUV to help him out.

But Montes said there were "no claims of domestic violence by any individual" stemming from the accident. And an attorney for the neighbors who called 911 said Woods did not appear to be driving under the influence and showed no signs of having been in a fight.

Attorney Bill Sharpe said neighbors found Nordegren kneeling beside her husband, upset about his injuries. Sharpe said Woods appeared woozy and had scratches on his face and that his wife was trying to console him.

But Woods remained the subject of intense media scrutiny, and the Us Weekly report didn't help his appeal for privacy.

According to the magazine, Grubbs said she was 21 when she was approached by Woods at a Las Vegas nightclub on April 13, 2007. The magazine said the meeting "progressed into a clandestine on-and-off affair" that lasted nearly three years and included hundreds of texts.

"I hope he can forgive me for doing this and I know he probably can't," Grubbs is quoted as saying. "Whatever happens with Elin, I hope Tiger and I can reconnect and remain good friends."

Grubbs recently appeared on VH1's reality series, "Tool Academy."
