****** Billy Graham, 'America's Pastor' And Noted Evangelist, Dead At 99

Billy Graham, the famed evangelist who became known as “America’s Pastor,” has died at the age of 99, The Associated Press reported.

Graham died at his home Wednesday morning from natural causes, a family spokesman told ABC News.

Born in 1918 in Charlotte, North Carolina, William Franklin Graham Jr. was the oldest of the four children of William and Morrow Graham. He was raised on a dairy farm, and little in his childhood suggested he would become a world-renowned preacher.

Then at 16, Graham attended a series of revival meetings run by outspoken evangelist Mordecai Ham. The two months he spent listening to Ham’s sermons on sin sparked a spiritual awakening in Graham and prompted him to enroll at Bob Jones College. When the conservative Christian school’s strict doctrine didn’t align with his personal beliefs, he transferred to the Florida Bible Institute (now Trinity College of Florida) and joined a Southern Baptist Convention church. He was ordained in 1939.

Graham received additional training at Illinois’ Wheaton College, where he met his future wife, Ruth McCue Bell. They were married for 64 years, until her death in 2007, and had five children.

After serving briefly as the pastor of the First Baptist Church in Western Springs, Illinois, Graham launched his first radio program, “Songs in the Night,” in 1943. Although he left a year later, Graham liked the idea of sharing his message with a wide audience. As noted on his website, Graham took Jesus Christ literally when he said in Mark 16:15: “Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature.”

Graham was still in his early 30s when entered the public spotlight by giving a series of well-attended “sin-smashing” revival meetings that were held under a circus tent in a Los Angeles parking lot. The press took interest in the charismatic young preacher and began writing articles about him. To get his message to even more people, Graham founded his own ministry, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.

Graham viewed the Bible as the infallible word of God. He believed that Jesus led a sinless life and that all men were lost and would face God’s judgment. Most importantly, he was convinced he must use “every modern means of communication available” to spread the Gospel throughout the world, and did so in print, on radio and television, online and in person.

Graham’s sermons promoted evangelism and railed against “godless communism,” drugs, sex and violence. And for the next five decades, his electric personality connected with audiences in more than 185 countries.

Graham was the first evangelist of note to speak behind the Iron Curtain, and during the Apartheid era he refused to visit South Africa until the government allowed integrated seating at his events. He published dozens of best-selling books, including Angels: God’s Secret Agents and The Jesus Generation, and wrote a weekly column that was syndicated in hundreds of newspapers.

Graham received numerous honors, including the Horatio Alger Award, the George Washington Honor Medal, the Ronald Reagan Freedom Award and the Congressional Gold Medal. A highway in Charlotte bears his name, as does part of Interstate 240 near his home in Asheville, North Carolina. In 1989, he became the first clergyman to be granted a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his work as a minister.

Graham also had a major effect on the civil rights movement of the 1950s and ’60s. His early crusades were segregated, but once the U.S. Supreme Court issued its landmark Brown v. Board of Education ruling in 1954, which found public school segregation unconstitutional, Graham integrated the seatings at his revival meetings.

Graham befriended the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. as well, and together they preached to more than 2 million people in New York City. When questioned about his views on faith and race, Graham argued there was no scriptural basis for segregation.

As his message spread, Graham was granted personal audiences with royalty, dignitaries and many sitting presidents, from Harry S. Truman to Barack Obama. Three presidents were even on hand in 2007 for the dedication of the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte. Despite being a registered Democrat, Graham opposed the candidacy of John F. Kennedy, and actively encouraged other religious leaders to speak out about the dangers of having a Roman Catholic in the White House.

Though beloved by millions, Graham was not without his detractors. Some fundamentalist Christians took issue with his ecumenical approach to evangelism, and after his 1957 crusade in New York, opponents of Graham’s more liberal theology began calling him “the Antichrist.” According to the biography Billy: A Personal Look at Bill Graham, the World’s Best-Loved Evangelist by Sherwood Eliot Wirt, one Christian educator even said that Graham was “the worst thing to happen to the Christian church in two thousand years.” More recently, detractors blasted Graham’s continued belief that homosexual behavior was a “sinister form of perversion,” and his intolerance against the very presence of gay and lesbian couples within Christianity.

As his health began to fail, Graham decided to announce his retirement in 2005. His final sermon, “The Cross ― Billy Graham’s Message To America,” called for a national spiritual awakening.

HILLARY CLINTON'S CORONATION PROCEEDS; OBAMA IS HER 2016 RUNNING MATE (BILDERBERG GROUP)

HILLARY CLINTON'S CORONATION PROCEEDS BECAUSE OBAMA IS HER RUNNING MATE (BILDERBERG GROUP):

Sources:  Washington Post, The Young Turks, Infowars, YouTube

In case you've been living somewhere under a rock or don't understand the Democrat party's 2016 Political Strategy, perhaps you did not know that Barack Obama is Hillary Clinton's true running mate.

That's right!

Bernie Sanders is actually Hillary's DEBATE COACH but Obama with his Political GENIUS aptitude is her 2016 running mate.

And who is the BILDERBERG GROUP?

300 wealthiest people on planet Earth who really control the world's biggest Banks and use their powerful, European Influence to control (for the most part) the United States Presidency.

Hillary  Clinton has strongly embraced President Obama’s record. Campaigning as the one true defender of the president’s legacy, she mentioned him a whopping 21 times in last week’s Democratic debate, while chastising her opponent, Bernie Sanders, for criticizing the Obama administration.

Defending Barack Obama is a smart strategy for winning Democratic primary voters in general and black votes in particular. It’s an approach that should be all the more effective given the president’s tacit endorsement of Clinton’s candidacy.  And it’s almost certainly an important reason why the first two polls that have been conducted since the New Hampshire primary both show her still carrying nearly three-quarters of African Americans in South Carolina.
Indeed, my forthcoming book explains how the president’s connection to several different people and policies affects both black and white Americans’ opinions.  For whites, Obama’s positions usually divide white racial liberals who think racial inequality is due to structural forces like discrimination from racial conservatives who think race-based inequities are due to deficiencies in black culture.  Racially sympathetic whites become more supportive of the president’s positions; racially resentful whites become more opposed to them.

Barack Obama's political allies and policy positions, meanwhile, often receive significantly stronger support from African Americans than they did before being closely connected to the president. My new book also shows that African Americans—especially those with high levels of racial solidarity—have increasingly identified with Democratic Party in the Obama era.
This same “Obama effect” can be found in both white and black Americans’ opinions of Hillary Clinton.
Before the 2008 Democratic presidential primary, white racial liberals consistently liked Hillary Clinton more than did white racial conservatives.  However, that pattern was reverse in 2008. Among Democrats, white racial liberals gravitated to Obama, and white racial conservatives to Clinton.
But after Clinton joined the Obama administration, the original pattern reasserted itself, and Clinton once again became significantly more popular with white racial liberals than with racial conservatives.
A very similar pattern characterized African American support for Hillary Clinton.  The Pew Research Center’s table below shows that Clinton’s favorability among blacks declined by over 20 percentage points during the 2008 presidential primary.   Her popularity among African Americans then reached record heights when she was Obama’s secretary of state.

It is not surprising, then, that there is a strong relationship between black support for Hillary Clinton in this year’s Democratic primary and opinions about President Obama.
The graph below is based on polls from both 2008 and 2015-16. The latter are the eight biweekly YouGov/Economist surveys conducted since Joe Biden announced that he would not run for president.  The former is the March 2008 Cooperative Campaign Analysis Project, another YouGov survey that interviewed over 15,000 respondents.

Black Democrats who rate Obama “very favorably” (almost 80 percent) are about 25 points more likely to say they will vote for Hillary Clinton over Bernie Sanders, compared to blacks who only rate Obama “somewhat favorably.”
That is a dramatic turnaround, of course, from the last time she ran for the Democratic nomination.  While there is little change in Clinton support from 2008 to 2016 among African Americans who rate Obama somewhat favorably, blacks who have a very favorable opinion of the president are 65 percentage points more likely to vote for her now than they were eight years ago.
To be sure, there are lots of other factors involved in African Americans’ overwhelming support for Hillary Clinton in the Democratic Primary (see especially Corrine McConnaughy’s informative Monkey Cage post on this subject).
But it appears that her close connection to President Obama is one reason why Bernie Sanders has not made major inroads with black voters in South Carolina despite his strong showings in the Iowa and New Hampshire.

MITT ROMNEY vs HILLARY CLINTON In 2016: What Do You Think??

HILLARY CLINTON vs MITT ROMNEY IN 2016: WHAT DO YOU THINK??

It's pretty clear HILLARY CLINTON is going to campaign again for the Oval Office in 2016.

It's also pretty clear CHRIS CHRISTIE will be one of her Opponents.

But what about MITT ROMNEY throwing his hat in the ring again ??

I know his WIFE doesn't want him to but....

I would be stoked to see MITT ROMNEY Win the 2016 GOP Nomination and run against HILLARY CLINTON!

If MITT does decide to run again, I think MARCO RUBIO would make a GREAT GOP Vice-President pick. (just my opinion)

As for the Haters who reject MITT ROMNEY as a possible 2016 GOP U.S. Presidential Nominee, EAT ME!

Now please don't get it twisted.

I would absolutely LOVE....LOVE....LOVE to see HILLARY CLINTON become the First legally elected Woman U.S. President because I Strongly feel she would make a GREAT President, who will Fairly represent both MIDDLE CLASS & LOW INCOME Voters just as her husband former U.S. President BILL CLINTON did.

However......

I would also absolutely LOVE.....LOVE......LOVE to see MITT ROMNEY run again.

ROMNEY'S last campaign was very Well-Organized & I believe he learned a lesson or two from Pres OBAMA'S Election MACHINE.

I think ANN ROMNEY should re-consider the possibilities & allow MITT to run again.

PRAY about it ANN.

Like HILLARY, Gov ROMNEY definitely has a lot to offer Our Country.

The third time just might be a Charm for him!
