Although the practice of the Federal Gov't regulating VACCINATIONS has been in effect for Decades, suddenly it appears to be a problem because the United States now has a BLACK President.
Sound familiar?
So it was perfectly acceptable for MITT ROMNEY (a WHITE Man) to enforce "ROMNEYCARE" in the commonwealth of Massachusetts, thus requiring all Massachusetts residents to have Health Insurance but...............
When a BLACK Man requires the SAME level of RESPONSIBILITY for each resident & citizen of the United States, suddenly it's an encroachment on Civil Liberties and suddenly it's a CRIME!
Get out of here!
Give me a break!
YES the OBAMACARE roll out was Dreadful & Terrible we all know this to be True.
YES there is some credible Medical Research which documents that there may be some evidence linking AUTISM to VACCINATIONS.
However to encourage Parents NOT to VACCINATE their Young Children from Contagious, Potentially Deadly COMMUNICABLE DISEASES is Politically IRRESPONSIBLE and equates to CHILD ABUSE.
Thus I repeat.
GOP LEADERS USING VACCINATIONS AS 2016 PLATFORM ISSUE TO REPLACE OBAMACARE.
Such Political Schemes reek of the GOP being Desperate to regain control of the White House in 2016.
Even at the expense of the Health of Young Children!
Each time I look at the recent TIME Magazine Breastfeeding Cover I think "Kiddie Porn".
Disgusting!
I am the Mother of two Adult Sons.
When my Sons were Babies I did Breastfeed them up until almost prior to their First Birthday.
Choosing to stop Breastfeeding them just prior to Age One was my personal preference as a Mother.
However.....
I would NEVER, EVER have Breastfed my Sons up to the Age of 3!
I don't care what Dr. Bill Sears or anyone else says, choosing to Breastfeed a 3-Year-Old is NOT "Attachment Parenting", its just plain Crazy and NOT Emotionally Healthy for Children.
Especially little Boys who have to grow up & become Strong, Men!
Yes this kind of Shock value does in fact Sell, just as Sex Sells.
The ironic thing is if an Adult posts a Video of a 3 or 4-year-old Child Sucking on a Woman's Breast, that Adult would be Arrested for promoting Kiddie Porn NOT for promoting "Attachment Parenting"!
Thus the question becomes NOT "Are You Mom Enough?" but Are You "Mom Enough" to STOP Breastfeeding Your Children before the Age of One or once they are able to Walk, Talk, Use the Bathroom Alone & Eat Real Table Food just as an Older Child can?
Jamie Lynn Grumet, the 26-year-old mother featured on the cover of Time magazine breastfeeding her 3-year-old son, has done more this week than become the poster woman for “attachment parenting,” the sometimes laudable movement that advises parents to be physically and emotionally available and responsive to their children.
She has shown the limits of such a concept, and the ways in which it can be twisted into a bizarre, contemptible caricature of itself.
Grumet is a model, and models have to have at least healthy dose of narcissism (television journalists like me, too, by the way).
But I fear Grumet has more than what’s healthy.
Because she thought nothing of becoming far more famous than she ever was or ever would have been by getting naked on the cover of Time using her son as a prop—letting him, in fact, look right into the camera and be completely recognizable while sucking her nipple.
He may never be better-known for anything than for being a breastfeeding 3-year-old on the cover of a national magazine. Ever. When he enters school later in his young life he may be ridiculed for it.
And these realities hint at a woman who could (and I have not evaluated her) have very poor boundaries and be willing or likely not only to nurture a child, but to absorb him, deny him his personhood and render him no more than her appendage.
In short, it is not at all clear who is the “parent” in the Time magazine photograph.
Is Grumet responding to real and healthy needs emanating from her son’s psyche, or is he responding to her potentially outsized needs to be the center of attention and the object of desire (if only for warmth).
Who, we can legitimately ask, is feeding whom?
See, Grumet loves being photographed. And she apparently loves having her son breastfeed.
And she loves attention.
And she’s happy enough to get naked in front of other people (which there may be nothing wrong with—for her).
But that may or may not be the case for her 3-year-old boy, which seems not to have mattered to her—at all. And if his will was bent to hers in order to have him suck his mother’s nipple in front of a photographer and makeup artist and art director and all of America, then it stands to reason that his will may be being bent to hers in all sorts of ways—including protracted breastfeeding.
The truth is that what Time magazine may have unwittingly captured and been party to was a grotesque form of psychological abuse—the parading into public of an intimate moment (intimate for mother and child) at the sole direction of that child’s mother, who didn’t stop to think that her child may not be able at the age of three to know what he thinks about the whole thing, much less to stop it, if he wanted to.
Grumet has stained the attachment parenting movement by documenting how easily it can go wrong, when used as an excuse for poor boundaries and manipulation.
In a way, while looking at the Time magazine cover, we are all Grumet’s son and may know something of his possible plight: finding her a compelling and dramatic presence, seduced by her combination of sex appeal and motherhood—unable, in fact, to detach from her.
Talk about a prescription for psychological disaster.
This is self-centeredness at its worst, sold as good parenting.
And this is an act of media violence against a child, committed by adult journalists who also commandeered his will (as did his mother), for sensation and profit.
Rarely do we get such evidence of how wrong parenting can go, how poorly journalists can behave and how slow we can be to recognize ugliness when it is disguised as something beautiful.
The young mom who sparked a media storm breastfeeding her 3-year-old son on the cover of Time magazine is opening up about the controversial photo.
Jamie Lynne Grumet, 26, appeared on NBC's "Today" show on Friday to discuss the cover, which shows her casually nursing her toddler Aram, who stares straight into the camera while he stands on a wooden chair.
"I do understand why Time chose this picture, because it did create such a media craze ... to get the dialogue talking," Grumet said.
The ensuing controversy focused on attachment parenting - the topic of Time's cover story - particularly extended breastfeeding.
Grumet explains that she was breastfed until she was 6-years-old and cites it as the reason she and her mother have a close bond.
Dr. Bill Sears, who developed the attachment parenting theory, also appeared on "Today" with Grumet. While both are advocates of the controversial parenting technique - which also includes co-sleeping, or letting children sleep in their parent's beds - Grumet admits it's not for everyone.
"You need to do what's best for your own baby and your family," she says.
Commenters on the Daily News' original article about the Time cover were alarmed by the Grumet's photograph, one reader even calling it "child porn."
Other commenters agreed, voicing concern that Grumet's son would endure psychological problems later on in life.
"Nice job lady," one reader wrote. "You've at best given this kid a lifetime of needing major therapy and at worst created a serial killer."
And not all of the criticism is coming from people against attachment parenting, Grumet notes.
"I understand some of the breast-feeding advocates are actually upset about this," she said on "Today."
Mommyish.com blogger Shawna Cohen, who says she practices some attachment parenting principles, wrote that she was disappointed in the Time cover.
"It angers me because it portrays AP moms as being totally extreme," she wrote in a blog post. "And in most cases, that couldn't be further from the truth."
Even celebrities chimed in - including new mom Alyssa Milano.
"Time, no! You missed the mark!" the actress wrote on Twitter. "You're supposed to be making it easier for breastfeeding moms. Your cover is exploitative and extreme."
Grumet explains that the cover didn't adequately demonstrate the nurturing side of attachment parenting.
"This isn't how we breastfeed at home," she says. "It's more of a cradling, nurturing situation."
Grumet, who has one other 5-year-old son, says she hopes to stop breastfeeding Aram, who turns 4 next month, sometime in the next year.

Sadly enough since 2005 in the two areas mentioned above, the Tarheel state hasn't made significant improvement. This travesty of course continues to negatively impact the Economy for all North Carolina residents. Especially during this current Recession.
In North Carolina (particularly Mecklenburg County) too many Low-Income, Unwed mothers are still having Illegitimate baby after baby after baby and doing so without receiving any money from the fathers.
Needless to say many of these young women are or have lied to local DSS officials concerning the whereabouts of the "babies daddies", when in reality the men are actually living/ still sleeping with the mothers.
WTF?? How can this be??
What's the financial impact to state taxpayers? $300 Mil a Year!
So do you mean to tell me that while most North Carolinians are working hard and paying taxes, these young, "Human Baby Factories" and lazy men are living high on the hog of the fruits of our labor with North Carolina DSS Officials knowledge?
Yes that's exactly what I'm saying!
Forget the "Tax Tea Parties"! We need to establish nationwide Teen Pregnancy Prevention protests!
Oh I know once they get wind of this morning's blog post on the subject and actually read it, North Carolina DSS Officials are going to of course refute the contents of this post, however the proof of what I've written can be verified in the facts.
The North Carolina Child Support Enforcement Agency claims that 100% of all Children born in the state out of wedlock, have their Paternity established. THIS IS A BIG LIE!
I have personally spoken with a large number of Unmarried, young teens/ women residing in North Carolina, whose children have no ideas who their fathers are.
Why?
In efforts to help the male sperm donors of these children evade their fiscal responsiblity, foolish, young mothers are falsely reporting to DSS/ Child Support Enforcement officials to not know the whereabouts of the men involved.
Those young mothers also receive NO Child Support from those men because Legal Paternity has NOT been established.
Thus if anyone thinks I'm publishing fabrications just to attract readers, why don't you conduct your own Fact Checking on this subject?
Why not get in your car and pay a visit to many of North Carolina's Low-Income communities and interview some of the young, unwed mothers who reside in those communities?
You can even take it a step further by playing the "I Spy a Baby's Daddy game". Just wait until night fall and observe how many biological, "male sperm donors" of these neglected children will come crawling out of the woodworks like insects, sneaking back into the residences of these young women.
If you hang around a little longer, in about 4 to 5 months you will see the stomachs of these same young women bulging once more with another baby on the way.
You can also pay a visit to some of North Carolina's prisons to interview a large number of the African-American, Male prisoners, asking them if they have a any illegitimate children on the outside, how many children and have they ever helped to support those children.
Even better, why not (with the parent's/ legal guardian's permission) just interview many of the 10,000+ children in North Carolina's Foster Care system or many of the Low-Income students attending the state's failing, Poverty level Public School yards and ask them "do you know your father or have you ever seen your father give your mother/ legal guardian any money?"
Lastly you can pay a visit to North Carolina's Funeral homes and interview the Funeral Home Directors regarding the number of children whose bodies they've had to prep, who died from Child Abuse or Neglect within the last ten years.
Why are these young teens/ women being allowed to continue having baby after baby after baby at the expense of North Carolina taxpayers? especially in this tight recession?
Well why not also work to reform the state's Child Support/ DSS system too? What better time to overhaul the way North Carolina enforces its Child Support Collection laws and the way North Carolina doles out Welfare money to its Neediest citizens.
The question of the day remains as to why is it that North Carolina DSS Officials won't consult with the U.S. Dept of Justice on how to make it Legally, Constitutionally Mandatory that these young women (and some older, unwed women too) participate in some type of Federal Family Planning program in order to continue receiving any type of Welfare Benefits?
Please understand I am in no way suggesting that North Carolina DSS Officials should disenfranchise the innocent children involved by withholding food, shelter, medical care, pre-school education, public school education, etc., just to punish their scheming parents.
However I am suggesting that these young women and scheming, lazy men be held accountable for their Intentional LACK of sexual control. (Except in the case of Rape.)
Call this type of Government intervention SOCIALISM if you please, but when dealing with this kind of issue which so adversely affects our communities, you can't have your cake and eat it too!
Now which scenario would the fine citizens of North Carolina rather experience:
1) Continuing to Financially Support these scheming young girls/ women obviously lacking in Healthy Self-Esteem, along with the Manipulating, Lazy, Predatory men who are using these girls/ women? or.....
2) Curb this Financially Destructive behavior with Government Intervention until the state of North Carolina begins to notice a significant drop in the annual number of teen/ unwed mother births?
If North Carolina DSS/ Child Support Enforcement Officials refuse to help stop this Human Rights Injustice (its the children, mostly African-American children who are suffering) from re-occurring, then by allowing such an injustice to continue can ONLY be due to the state benefiting Financially from the births of these children, via receiving more Federal funding for each child's existence.
For such practices to be carried out just to help fill in North Carolina's budget gaps, is a tragedy. A tragedy for which I strongly believe God will harshly judge the state of North Carolina for one day. (Note: Where is the Outcry from North Carolina's Black Leaders on this issue?????)
N.C. currently has one of the highest rate of Teenage Pregnancies in the United States. A rate nearly 19% higher than national average. This number remains steady since 2007.
Since 2007 official N.C. vital statistics showed even higher rates than the Center for Disease Control report.
Statewide there were about 19,615 teen pregnancies, or 63 per 1,000 girls, according to the North Carolina State Center for Health Statistics.
Nearly 30 percent of North Carolina’s children live in asset poor households. Most of those homes are headed by Single Mothers who receive no Child Support from the Absent Fathers.
The disparity between white and minority teen pregnancy rates has narrowed, and the rate dropped among most minority populations in the past year. Black teens still have the highest teen pregnancy rate
However, the minority teen pregnancy rate was still 1.6 times higher than that of for white teens in 2007, compared with two times higher in 1992.
Hispanic teens had the highest pregnancy rate at 167.4 per 1,000 girls in 2007. That rate has fallen 3.3 percent since 2006 and nearly 7 percent since 2003.
The rate of African-American teen pregnancy rose slightly last year to 87.1 per 1,000. The number of pregnancies among American Indian teens and other minority groups was too low to calculate reliable rates.
Only a third of teen mothers graduate from high school, and even by age 30, they are often still only earning 58 percent of what non-teen mothers do.
The percentage of low birth-weight babies (less than 2,500 grams) decreased, from 8.3 percent in 2006 to 8.2 percent in 2007. Over the past few decades, low birth weight rates have steadily risen; this is the first decline since 1984.
