GOP Attacks Joe Biden! Falsely Accuses Him Of Agreeing With China's Forced Abortion Policies! Its A Lie!

Biden In Trouble For Not Condemning China's 'One-Child-Per-Family' Policy

Vice President Joe Biden has bought himself a controversy boomlet after briefly commenting on China's draconian one-child-per-family policy without strenuously condemning it, or single-handedly putting an end to it, or something. Here's your latest, greatest "Biden gaffe," which occurred on Sunday when he was trying to explain, to China, what the super committee (your latest, greatest, "America gaffe") is and will do.

What we ended up doing is setting up a system whereby we did cut by $1.2 trillion upfront, the deficit over the next 10 years. And we set up a group of senators that have to come up with another $1.2 to $1.7 trillion in savings or automatically there will be cuts that go into effect in January to get those savings. So the savings will be accomplished. But as I was talking to some of your leaders, you share a similar concern here in China. You have no safety net.

Your policy has been one which I fully understand -- I'm not second-guessing -- of one child per family. The result being that you're in a position where one wage earner will be taking care of four retired people. Not sustainable.

So hopefully we can act in a way on a problem that's much less severe than yours, and maybe we can learn together from how we can do that.

Biden "understands" the policy, it seems. As does everyone! China permits each family to have one child, understand? He also says he's not "second guessing" it, but I don't know -- that whole part where he describes China's "safety net" as "not sustainable" because it results in "one wage earner...taking care of four retired people," which contrasts with the United States in such a way that it makes our "problem...less severe than yours," certainly seems like he is, on some level, doing some "second guessing."

But if you were wondering what it would take to get GOP 2012 frontrunner Mitt Romney to emerge from his tortoise shell and briefly start campaigning for president again, it's China's one-child-per-family policy. His campaign issued the following statement on Tuesday: "China's one-child policy is gruesome and barbaric.

Vice President Biden's acquiescence to such a policy should shock the conscience of every American. Instead of condoning the policy, Vice President Biden should have condemned it in the strongest possible terms. There can be no defense of a government that engages in compulsory sterilization and forced abortions in the name of population control."

Romney has a point, of course, in that the policy is "gruesome and barbaric." So, Biden should have really let the Sichuan University students he was talking with have it. (I mean, beyond pointing out that the policy was resulting in an unsustainable situation where China's safety net was much worse off than the one in the United States.)

What's amusing about this kerfuffle is that everyone's missing the statement Biden made that truly is bizarre, which he made seconds before his glancing mention of China's one-child-per-family policy:

The bottom line is we have to deal with two elements of our economy. One is what we call entitlement programs -- long-term commitments to our people in the area of particularly Medicare. That is the safety net we have for people once they reach the age of 65 to be able to be assured that they have health care.

And it is not sustainable without some changes in large part because we had what we call a baby boom, which doesn't sound like much to Chinese -- 40 million people is not a big deal, I know. (Laughter.) But adding 40 million people to those who will benefit from the Medicare -- Medicaid payment -- Medicare payments has put the program in a position where changes have to be made.

It's easy to make those changes, and we had a tentative agreement to do that between the major political leaders of the Republican Party and the Democratic Party and the administration. But there is a group within the Republican Party that is a very strong voice now that did -- wanted different changes, and so that deal fell through at the very end.

Wait. So, if it weren't for the alluded-to Tea Party, making changes to entitlement programs are "easy?" Since when did entitlement programs stop being the "third rail in American politics?" Well, not to worry, because as Biden told the good students of Sichuan University, the super committee is on the case, and "the savings will be accomplished."

Of course, that's not what Biden told reporters two days later on Tuesday:

The new 12-member panel has "a shot of getting a deal that would be viewed by Wall Street, be viewed by everyone, be viewed by the international community as a significant alteration of a trajectory of long-term debt.... We still may end up with the trigger being pulled," Biden told reporters traveling aboard Air Force Two in Asia. Reaching a deal will be "very difficult," he added.

The fact that one can no longer discern when reforming entitlements was easy and when it was difficult and whether or not the super committee is more likely to make things better or worse is a measure of just how awesomely dysfunctional our system has become. Fortunately, we have an easier-to-grapple-with "Biden gaffe" to distract us!

UPDATE: Apparently, Biden spokeswoman Kendra Barkoff emailed a statement to the Daily Caller's Caroline May:

"The Obama Administration strongly opposes all aspects of China's coercive birth limitation policies, including forced abortion and sterilization," Biden's spokeswoman Kendra Barkoff told The Daily Caller in an email. "The Vice President believes such practices are repugnant."

Barkoff explained that Biden was attempting to critique the restrictive system with his comments.

"He also pointed out, in China, that the policy is, as a practical matter, unsustainable," Barkoff added. "He was arguing against the One Child Policy to a Chinese audience. "

Right, I actually noticed that "Biden was attempting to critique the restrictive system with his comments," after I read his comments, discovered that they were written in a language in which I was fluent, and then used what I learned about that language's grammar to determine the meaning of those comments.

500+ Angry Comments On Charlotte Observer Website Expose City's Racism

Today 500+ angry comments were posted on the Charlotte Observer website following backlash from Wealthy White Citizens (Ballantyne) who refused to allow an Affordable Housing community to be constructed in their area of the city.

This helps to prove Charlotte is indeed one of America's most Racist cities.

Please don't let the recent election of Charlotte's Black Mayor Anthony Foxx (Democrat) fool you.

Anthony Foxx is a Token Black Politician thus the reason for his election.

Charlotte's White citizens knew he would do absolutely NOTHING to change things.

In fact Foxx was a lesser threat to changing Charlotte's "Good Ole' Boy" system than his White, Republican opposition John Lassiter.

That's why Anthony Foxx was elected!

While on the campaign trail Foxx promised to NO longer build all of Charlotte's Affordable Housing in Poverty Stricken areas, but after hearing backlash from Ballantyne's Wealthy White citizens (many of whom haven't seen a Tax Increase in 6 years while Blacks have!), Mayor Foxx and other Weak City Leaders decided to abort this plan.

Of course I couldn't copy and paste 500+ comments however, I wanted you to read some of the ones I included in this post.

The tone of those comments prove Charlotte-Mecklenburg, North Carolina has a long way to go in improving Race Relations and explain why Charlotte's Public Schools are extremely Segregated.

What are Charlotte's Black Leaders doing about this crisis?

NOTHING!

They are too afraid.

Which is why I NEVER vote for Charlotte's Black Politicians.

By the way since Democrats rule Charlotte you can blame them for all of this Racism.

If your Black or Hispanic DON'T MOVE TO CHARLOTTE, NC!

Unless your name is Barack Obama or Eric Holder, you won't be welcome.

"Blacks get back!"

Isn't this 2010? What a shame and disgrace.

Now Check out Anthony Foxx's lying Mayoral campaign video ("Fairness & Opportunity") and those controversial comments from the Charlotte Observer website below.

Read the article. Only 26 of the units were designated for <$20K (30% of the area's median income). "Affordable" is a misnomer. The rest of the property is designated for people earning 60% of the median income--which actually puts them close to the median income for Charlotte. The whole point of a developer partnership.

Charlotte Citizens Protest Against Charlotte Affordable
Housing Project

The meeting started inside while people were still lining up outside. Hundreds showed up to hear more about a proposed public housing complex in the Ballantyne area. One by one, they fired questions and comments at the developers, Republic Development Group:

"What experience do you have creating something like this?"

"Can you not find a more suitable place than what is the southern gateway to our community?"

"Where I'm coming from is I don't want it here. My house is over one million dollars and I don't want the crap next to me."

The project took a hit Monday afternoon when the Charlotte Housing Authority issued a statement that it would not participate in the mixed income housing development. "Questions about certain aspects of the project's structure, including its density (the total number of apartment units relative to the cost of the land) and funding, prompted our decision," said Jennifer Gallman with the Housing Authority.

"We keep going," said Stuart Proffitt of Republic Development. Proffitt says he still hopes to build the 86 unit complex with another affordable housing developer. A representative from the Crosland Company told News Channel 36 the developer has asked if Crosland would manage the property if it were approved.

One man, who asked not to be identified, said he believed this was a case of "not in my backyard." "I live on the West side and this will be pushed to some other part of town," he said.

But opponents say that's not the case. They point to the fact that the proposed site, south of Ballantyne, off of Johnston Road, has no easy access to public sidewalks, little public transportation and already overcrowded schools.

Cynthia Jennings lives in the Ballantyne area. "People who live in low income housing want the same thing we all do. A nice place to live for their families. But the way the developer came in, through the back door, was sneaky and shady," she said.

Virginia Foxx Needs To Step Down! Criticizes Obama But Gets Autograph

On the heels of Pres. Obama extending an Olive Branch to Republicans in hopes of building positive bi-partisan communication between GOP and Democrat Congressional members, as always Rep. Virginia Foxx finds a way to screw things up.

In fact U.S. Congresswoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC)never ceases to amaze me with her frequent foolish, snide, foot-in-mouth comments.

Why would she seek to sabotage yesterday's historic efforts for Unity by posting a negative Twitter Comment about Pres. Obama?

"Pres. Obama gave us another lecture. Our guys asked great questions. Need Independent Fact Checker for his comments. Got Autograph."

How Stupid are those statements??

What's even more bizarre is that she gets his autograph!

Now why would you want to obtain the autograph of someone whom you obviously don't respect?

Is it so you can sell it on Ebay??

Rep. Foxx's behavior consistently makes the Republican Party appear Illiterate and Stupid, thus scaring away anyone considering looking to Republicans for constructive Solutions.

This includes: Black Voters, Independent Voters, Gay Voters, etc.,

How can someone so narrow-minded represent her constituents well?

Although I'm not a Republican, I'd say its high time she stepped down.

Elected Incumbents like Rep. Foxx only help to divide Republicans and Democrats thus creating continued Capitol Hill Gridlock on issues important to the American people.

Politicians (especially Incumbents) need to frequently search within themselves and ask why they sought a role in Public Office.

If they aren't there for Voters or Constructive Progress, than GET OUT and make room for people who are!

We all understand Politicians are still Human Beings who possess their own perspectives on everyday life issues, however it wouldn't hurt to use a little tact or to hold one's tongue versus spewing out whatever comes to mind.

To Rep. Virginia Foxx I repeat "Its Time For You To Step Down" or....

Cease making foolish remarks which hurts your party, causes Southern Politicians to look Stupid and makes Congress appear even more dysfunctional.

North Carolina can do better. So much better.

Virginia Foxx Slams Obama, Gets Autograph

North Carolina Rep. Virginia Foxx criticized President Obama after his address to House Republicans but had no qualms about walking away with a souvenir.

"Pres gave us another lecture. Our guys asked great questions. Need independent fact checker for his comments. Got autograph," the Republican congresswoman tweeted Friday afternoon at the House Republican retreat.

A follow up tweet she sent shortly after read, "Am concerned that Pres thinks health care bill is centrist. He did not accept the scalpel and it is a great tool."

Her remarks followed a rare question-and-answer session with the president and the GOP caucus.

About 300 lawmakers, family members and aides attended the meeting, which was broadcast live. The event was for the most part civil, with a few moments of heated discussion.

Obama accused Republicans of frequently mischaracterizing his policy proposals, particularly in the health care debate. Republicans, in turn, complained that the White House and congressional Democrats had ignored their ideas, locked them out of the policy-making process, and unfairly labeled them as obstructionists.

"Both sides can take some blame for a sour climate on Capitol Hill," Obama said, adding that Democrats and Republicans "need to be careful" in choosing their rhetoric. "A tone of civility instead of slash and burn would be helpful."

Virginia Foxx: Matthew Shepard's Murder Not a Hate Crime

Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.) has done it again. Earlier this month she dropped the racially charged term "tar baby" on the House floor. Today, she said the murder of 21-year-old Matthew Shepard in 1998 was not a hate crime.

"It's really a hoax that that continues to be used as an excuse for passing [hate crimes] bills," Foxx said on the House floor during debate on the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act.

Foxx opposes a bill being considered that would extend federal hate crimes protections to cover crimes committed because of a person's gender, sexual orientation or disability.

She called Shepard's murder a "very unfortunate incident" but said "we know that that young man was killed in the commitment of a robbery. It wasn't because he was gay."

And guess who was in the House gallery to hear Foxx say this? Matthew Shepard's mother, Judy, according to Democratic sources.

To refresh your memory on what happened to her son> two men tied the University of Wyoming college freshman to a fence and savagely pistol whipped and beat him to death. Before doing it, one of the killers tauntingly said to Shepard, "It's Gay Awareness Week."

Ironically, Foxx is part of a GOP leadership team tasked with finding embarrassing, "You-Tube worthy moments" of vulnerable Democratic freshmen and sophomores.

Here's what gay liberal blogger John Arivosis has to say about Foxx's comments. Stay tuned: there will be plenty more outrage from the gay rights community.

UPDATE: The Human Rights Campaign, a leading Washington based gay-rights group, is furious with Congresswoman Foxx.

"Vile lies, like the one spread by Rep. Foxx today on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives about Matthew's brutal hate-fueled murder, continues to underscore how extreme anti-LGBT opponents have become," says Brad Luna, a spokesman for HRC. "It is no longer acceptable in this day and age to just come right out and say you don't like gay people. Instead, extremist opponents of equality must resort to these types of malicious and twisted lies. Rep. Foxx should be ashamed of herself."

HRC also notes the following groups have endorsed the hate-crimes bill opposed by Foxx: the National Sheriffs Association; International Association of Chiefs of Police; 26 state Attorneys General; the National District Attorneys Association; the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights; the Anti-Defamation League; the NAACP; the National Council of La Raza; the Presbyterian Church; the Episcopal Church; and the National Disability Rights Network.

"Poor People Are Like Stray Animals" Says Andre Bauer

Andre Bauer Regrets Calling Poor People "Animals"

South Carolina Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer said Monday night that he regrets comparing those who live off government assistance to “stray animals.”

In an interview Monday night with POLITICO, Bauer defended the sentiment of what he was trying to say last Friday, but rejected the metaphor he used that landed him in hot water.

Bauer – one of the frontrunners in the state’s GOP gubernatorial primary – said during a town hall event focused on reducing the number of South Carolinians on government assistance that “my grandmother was not a highly educated woman, but she told me as a small child to quit feeding stray animals. You know why? Because they breed.”

“You’re facilitating the problem if you give an animal or a person ample food supply,” he said.

“They will reproduce, especially ones that don’t think too much further than that.”

Bauer has come under attack from some of his gubernatorial rivals and his comments were subject of much scrutiny Monday by the national political press.

Bauer told POLITICO that he was surprised by the reaction to his remarks.

“I never saw it coming, but it is what it is,” he said. “Clearly I was taken out of context. Nobody in that meeting or any other meeting where I’ve said that before had any problem with it. In fact, I had a black minister at that meeting and he came up to me afterwards and asked if I could come speak to his congregation.”

But Bauer conceded that while his basic message – that federal assistance has created a culture of dependency – may have been acceptable to the crowd, the language he chose was not.

“If I could do it again, would I use a different metaphor? Of course,” the Republican lieutenant governor said. “Do I regret it? Sure I do because it was used in a way that I never meant for it to.”

Bauer said he had “hoped” that his remarks would “start a discussion.”

“But I had no idea what kind of discussion it would encourage,” he said. “What I talked about in that meeting was breaking cycles. I didn’t venomously go after anybody.”

“Somebody has to have the gumption to talk about the cycle of dependency,” Bauer added. “Someone has to do it. I’m not claiming I have all the answers.”

Asked if he thought the fallout from his controversial comments would hurt his run for governor, Bauer responded: “Sure.”

“There will be people who will have a different impression of Andre Bauer because of things that they heard that were taken out of context or things I’ve never said before,” Bauer said. “But there is an undercurrent of people that are fed up. And maybe I didn’t use the right verbiage, but they want this discussion.”
