Trayvon Martin's Civil Rights vs Obama's U.S. Dept Of Justice: Why Can't They Help?

"Why Are You Following Me?" Trayvon Martin asked George Zimmerman just before Zimmerman Shot Him DEAD In Cold-Blood for NO Reason.

How Often have BLACK Men, Women & Teens had to ask that same question to Store Security Guards & Police Officers when walking down the street, in Retail Stores, Malls, & Super Markets, etc., because we were being followed just because of our Skin Hues?

Recently while interviewing Trayvon Martin's Parents on NBC's "Today" Show, Host Matt Lauer read an Official statement from the DOJ saying they may NOT be able to help in this incident.

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Why not???

The Federal Gov't can do anything it wants to do in this Country.

Yet any time an incident has something to do with BLACK people & Racism, Pres. Obama usually punts the issue back to State Authorities.

Why does Pres. Obama feel as though just because he is a BLACK President, that he can't act on behalf of BLACK People who are Discriminated against daily on a broad scale in this country?

Instead of attempting to punt this case back to Florida State Authorities who will just sweep it under the rug because Trayvon was BLACK, the Obama Administration could very well use this Tragic yet Historic event as a Teachable Moment regarding eliminating Racial Profiling, Enacting Reasonable Gun Laws, Reforming the American Criminal Justice System & help to eliminate Widespread Intentional Employment Discrimination.

i.e., Enforcing Civil Rights Laws for EVERYONE Not just Gay People!!

If Trayvon Martin were a White, Gay Kid (Tyler Clementi) who was Murdered as a result of a Cyber Bullying Hate Crime, I'm sure Pres. Obama's Administration would get involved,

or....

If Trayvon Martin were Amanda Knox stuck in an Italian Prison I'm sure his Administration would become involved,

Or.....

If Trayvon Martin were a Jewish Kid who was Shot I'm sure his Administration would become involved,

so why not help Trayvon's family too?

Why won't Pres. Obama publicly stand up for BLACK Americans?

He wants our Votes but he refuses to stand up for us.
That is not right.

Please Understand I'm NOT bashing Pres. Obama or his Administration.

In Fact he still has my support this Fall.

I just want to know why he won't stand up for BLACK Americans as it relates to Racial Profiling, Wrongful Execution (TROY DAVIS), Intentional Widespread Employment Discrimination, Voting Rights, etc.,

Trayvon Martin was an Innocent, Unarmed, Non-Violent, BLACK Boy struck down in the Prime of his Life while returning home from the neighborhood Store by a Zealous, Trigger Happy, Self-Appointed, Unpaid Community "Rent-a-Cop" with an obvious disdain for BLACK Youth.

Prior to Murdering Trayvon Martin in Cold-Blood for NO Reason, George Zimmerman had previously called the local Police & Sheriff Dept 46 times in 15 Months.

On most of those 9-1-1 Calls Zimmerman frequently reported that he saw BLACK Youth in his community & always Accused those BLACK Youth of Trespassing, Looking "Suspicious" or Attempting to Break into one of his Neighbor's Residences.

Since George Zimmerman was NOT a Professional, Trained Police Officer or Security Guard, I would think calling the Local Law Enforcement Authorities 46 times in 15 Months, frequently mentioning BLACK Youth in those phone calls could Constitute as Acts of Racial Profiling.

After George Zimmerman Shot & Killed Trayvon Martin in Cold-Blood for NO Reason, the Sanford Police Dept. did NOTHING to Conduct an Official Investigation, nor did they even Arrest Zimmerman.

To make matters worse the Medical Examiner performed a Drug Test on Trayvon's Corpse but the Police did NOT perform a Drug nor an Alcohol Blood Test on Zimmerman.

It doesn't require a degree in Rocket Science to clearly observe that Trayvon's Civil Rights were completely Violated in this situation.

However the Sanford Police Department may have also Violated the "Color Of Law" Legal Doctrine.

So Why won't the Obama Administration help Trayvon's family just as they helped Amanda Knox's family & Tyler Clementi's family?

I don't mean pretend to "Help" for Publicity & Political Media Coverage.

I mean Help for Real!

Pres. Obama We (BLACK Voters) Stand With You But We Need YOU To Stand With Us (BLACK Community) Too.

Feds face challenges in Trayvon Martin case

The Department of Justice is reviewing evidence in the shooting death of unarmed black teen Trayvon Martin by neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman in Florida, but prosecuting Zimmerman at the federal level could be an uphill battle, reports CBS News senior correspondent John Miller.

Martin, 17, was killed last month during an altercation with Zimmerman, who followed the teen as he walked through a gated community in Sanford, Fla. Zimmerman, 28, has claimed self-defense, though Martin was found to have been carrying only a cell phone, a bag of Skittles and a container of iced tea.

Zimmerman has not been charged in Martin's death, outraging Martin's family and many in the community.

"Can't be self-defense. No way. What's he gonna attack him with? A pack of Skittles?" Tracey Martin, Trayvon's father, told CBS News.

Under growing public pressure, the Department of Justice announced Monday that it would conduct a review of the case, but added the qualification that the "government must prove beyond a reasonable doubt that a person acted intentionally with the specific intent to do something which the law forbids."

Complicating matters, Florida state law allows a person the right to stand their ground and use deadly force if they feel threatened. The Justice Department recognized that, stating that "negligence, recklessness, mistakes and accidents are not prosecutable under the federal criminal civil rights laws."

The federal government can't prosecute Zimmerman for murder or manslaughter, so any prosecution for civil rights violations must prove Zimmerman took Martin's life because of prejudice.

Zimmerman's family denied he is a racist.

Shaniya's Dad Shares His Grief & Anger On NBC's "Today Show"...He Has A Lawyer

Shaniya Davis' dad speaks to Today Show's Meredith Vieira about his child's death and Human Trafficking.

NC dad (Bradley Lockhart) defends letting mom take girl (Shaniya Davis) later slain

The father of a North Carolina girl who was kidnapped and killed said Tuesday he made the best decision he could at the time when he let her live with her mother, who has since been charged with prostituting the child.

Bradley Lockhart said during an interview on NBC's "Today Show" that he regrets how the decision turned out, but thought he was making the right choice for the daughter he had raised himself.

"We obviously make decisions in life that sometimes have repercussions or adverse situations that drift from our decision. We just have to continue to believe in God and hope that our decisions are the correct ones," he said.

Lockhart said he last saw Shaniya in early October as he left for an out-of-state work assignment. The girl moved in with Antoinette Davis, 25, about a week later after initially staying with Lockhart's sister, he said.

The father said he spoke to Davis after she reported the girl missing Nov. 10. Police said she was killed the same day. Lockhart said he hasn't spoken to Davis since she was charged last week with human trafficking and child abuse by prostitution of her daughter.

Mario McNeill, an acquaintance of Davis, is charged with murder, rape and kidnapping.

Authorities in Cumberland County said Tuesday that Davis had been moved from the county jail to the North Carolina Correctional Center for Women in Raleigh.

Lockhart said he didn't think he missed any warning signs that Shaniya would be at risk if he accepted Davis's request to help raise the girl. He has said Davis struggled financially over the years, but she had recently gotten a job and her own place.

"I don't think I really missed any (signs). Of course there's always speculation. There's always things you could look at and say, well maybe, maybe not," Lockhart said.

The North Carolina Child Fatality Task Force will review contacts the Cumberland County Department of Social Services had with Davis, who also has a 7-year-old son, The Fayetteville Observer reported Tuesday.

"This is a family that was already known to social service workers down there," task force co-chairman Tom Vitaglione said. "They are all very distraught about the whole thing."

The task force is charged with investigating every child death in the state, said Kevin Kelley a spokesman for the state's child welfare services. It will not begin looking into the Davis case until all criminal actions have been resolved or until a year after Shaniya's death, whichever comes later, Kelley said.

The task force will look at when local social services workers first contacted the family, the status of the case and whether proper procedures were followed, Vitaglione said. Investigators also will consider the impact of state and local budget cuts on social service agencies, he said.

"Child protective service divisions have been hit particularly hard," Vitaglione said.

Thousands gather at Shaniya Davis' Funeral

Shaniya Davis, the 5-year-old girl who police say was taken from her home and then raped and murdered, was laid to rest Sunday.

More than two thousand people attended the funeral at Manna Church in Fayetteville.

At one point, more than a hundred looked through the windows of the church door because they couldn't get in.

Bradley Lockhart, Shaniya's father, was not scheduled to speak but got up and encouraged the community to not get angry about the situation.

He turned to his daughter's rose-colored casket and said "I know you're going to be waiting for me [in heaven], I'll see you when I get there."

Shaniya's brother, Byron Coleman, got up to speak but was obviously too overcome with emotion to say anything.

Shaniya's aunt, Carey Lockhart-Davis, read a story she wrote for Shaniya.

Brad Lockhart told one of the pastors he wanted this funeral to be a "homegoing" celebration.

Davis disappeared from her home last Tuesday and her body was found in a wooded area just south of Sanford.

Police say Davis was raped and strangled. Mario McNeill, 29, is charged with the crime. He allegedly admitted kidnapping the girl.

Police announced Thursday that Cumberland County will have jurisdiction in the case. The investigation has been tough for veteran detectives.

"And it's still pretty emotional - still up and down," Captain Mark Bidgeman with the Fayetteville Police Department said. "You know, it's one of those things. It's the hardest thing I've ever had to do in my career."

According to court documents, McNeill killed the 5-year-old the same day she was reported missing from her mother's mobile home in Fayetteville.

Shaniya's mother, Antoinette Davis, 25, is charged with human trafficking and child abuse involving prostitution.

McNeill previously was charged with kidnapping. The newest charges against him include first-degree rape of a child and first-degree murder.

McNeill made a court appearance for the new charges on Friday. He could face the death penalty if convicted.
