Beyonce's Parents Are Divorcing

Beyonce's parents headed for divorce: singer's mom Tina Knowles splits from manager and dad Matthew

It won't be a very merry Christmas in the Knowles household.

Beyonce's mother and fashion design partner Celestine "Tina" Knowles has filed for divorce from the superstar singer's father and long-time manager Mathew Knowles, TMZ reports.

The gossip site states that Tina filed the papers in Harris County, Texas on Nov. 11 to end the pair's almost 31-year marriage.

The Insider claims to have their hands on the divorce papers, however, alleging that the couple hasn't been crazy in love since last January, when they stopped living together.

The petition gives the grounds for divorce as, "The marriage has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities . . . that destroys the legitimate relationship and prevents any reasonable expectation of reconciliation."

In October, Mathew was reportedly slapped with a paternity suit from a woman named Alexsandra Wright who claimed she was six months pregnant with his love child.

Both of Beyonce's parents have played in integral part in propelling the "Bootylicious" singer's blockbuster career.

Mathew famously quit his job at IBM almost 20 years ago to manage the young singer's early group, Girl's Tyme, which evolved into Destiny's Child. He's also helped produce many of his daughter's projects, including her 2009 thriller "Obsessed," and is the founder of Music World Entertainment, which through Columbia Records has released albums by Beyonce as well as her sister, Solange Knowles, and former Destiny's Child members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams.

Tina designed many of Destiny's Child's memorable stage ensembles early in their career, and is now a stylist and principle in House of Dereon, the fashion label that she launched in 2004 with her daughter.

Neither of the Knowles' offspring, Beyonce or Solange have commented on the proceedings yet.
