President Obama Moved During Airspace Violation

This afternoon due to a small plane owner's navigating mistakes and whose actions caused an Airspace violation, President Barack Obama and Vice-President Biden were quickly moved to another (unknown) location until the incident was peacefully resolved.

In addition Capitol Staff were evacuated as the premises was locked down.

William Wales, owner of the Cessna 180 plane and his wife, were traveling in route from Maine to North Carolina to see their daughter, when they became lost and wandered into restricted airspace near the White House causing a security disturbance.

Two F-16 fighter jets and two Coast Guard helicopters escorted Wales to the Indian Head Airport in Charles County, Maryland. Afterward Wales was questioned by the Secret Service.

The Secret Service confirms that every since Sept. 11, 2001, whenever an unauthorized aircraft enters the restricted airspace surrounding the White House, this type of swift action to protect the sitting President's life is commonplace.

I'm just grateful that both President Obama and Vice-President Biden are safe.
