President Obama Bows Out of UN Racism Conference....Angers African-Americans

Despite great concern from the African-American community, President Obama has declined to attend or send forth any U.S. Delegates to the UN Racism Conference to be held in Geneva, Switzerland the week of April 20-25.

Citing conflicts of interest regarding Freedom of Speech and a respect for Diplomatic Foreign Policy efforts as it relates to Israel, the Obama Administration has chosen to sit out the conference this year.

In February, after reviewing the main conference draft text and discovering offensive references to the Jewish religion, he requested those references be removed.

Upon learning recently that the text would remain the same, President Obama tactfully bowed out of the event.

Prior to jumping knee deep into the world of Politics, President Obama was a Harvard trained, Constitutional Law Professor at the University of Chicago Law School.

Thus he would of course be strongly opposed to any restriction of Freedom of Speech or Freedom of Religion, both being violations of the U.S. Constitution and Human Rights.

He also realizes that if he chose to attend the conference it would be a direct blow to the Jewish race and the nation of Israel.

Considering the fact that Israel is one of America's most trusted allies, it would be foolish to disregard all of the hard work from Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to help maintain Peace in the Middle East by appearing at the meeting. To appear would have been too risky.

The President's decision to not attend the conference has angered the African-American/ Black community. But why?

Doesn't the Black community realize that sometimes Leaders have to make unpopular decisions and do what's best for a large number of people, not just one particular population?

Doesn't the Black community realize that he is the Top Political Leader of the entire United States, not just the Black community?

In addition President Barack Hussein Obama has NEVER been ashamed of his Black Heritage. Nor has he ever been ashamed of his White heritage.

He has also never dissed or ignored the Black Community.

In fact his past public service record proves his kind heart towards the Black Community.

So why the beef regarding his decision not to attend this conference?

Has the Black community cast aside their true convictions and reasoning for voting President Obama into the Oval office in the first place?

Or.....did the Black community just vote for President Obama because he was African-American?

I didn't.

When I chose to vote for President Barack Obama I did so only after I listened to his speeches and read the transcripts of his speeches.

You see it wasn't that I didn't believe that a Black man couldn't become president of the United States. I just didn't want to vote for him simply because he was a Black man.

Do I care about issues which affect the Black community? Sure I do however....

As an intelligent voter, I had to hear his heart relative to issues that affect my life. I also had a responsibility to research his beloved wife Michelle's agenda.

Then and only then did I choose to fully support him way back in February of 2008.

I respect and understand without malice, my president's decision not to attend the 2009 UN Racism Conference. I still support him. Even if I didn't agree I would still support him.

Thank God for the U.S. Constitution which allows me the legal right and freedom to choose.
