The NAACP has a new "Stop Hate" pledge they would like all Black Americans to sign. (I think its nothing more than a gimmick to increase membership.)
I'll sign the NAACP's "new" pledge to stop Hate (Tea Party Racism) when they quit practicing Discrimination against their own people (they seem to only want members with a certain "pedigree") and start speaking up & putting forth some action about serious issues currently plaguing the American Black Community:
Re-Segregation of Public Schools, Employment Discrimination (First Fired, Last Hired even for Blacks with College Degrees), More Black Men in Jail than College, Two few Black & Minority Businesses (only 1.7% Black-Owned small businesses received Stimulus money), Police Brutality against Blacks, etc.,
For example: North Carolina passed a new DNA Law to lock up more Black Men. Now anyone Arrested on a Felony charge NOT Convicted just Arrested, must submit to DNA testing. In N.C. more Black men are charged with Felony crimes than any other ethnic group. N.C. Prison Popuation (2009-2010): White - 14,148, Black - 22,918. More
Black Men in Jail than College.
Where's the NAACP??
I'll keep asking until they actually show up and do something in their Black communities!!
I don't doubt that there is some Racism within the Tea Party Movement but there is also Discrimination coming from the NAACP towards its own Black community. (towards "average" Black citizens). At least that's how it is in Charlotte, NC.
I've spoken with many "average" Black citizens (Black Blue Collar Workers and youth from low income, Single Parent homes) who informed me that they tried to join the NAACP in their region but were NOT welcome. This includes Charlotte, NC!
In fact unless NAACP organization leaders get up off of their Elite behinds and WORK hard to help uplift "average" American Black communities, they will become extinct whether they choose to accept this reality or not.
As it currently stands NAACP leaders have sold the Black Vote by endorsing White Democrats with no Public Service records of doing anything constructive Black Voters.
I'll stand with the NAACP when they start standing up for ME!
Now check out the new NAACP "Hate" Pledge information below.

NAACP President Condemns Tea Party’s "Tolerance For Racism" On Hardball
The attacks on the Tea Party on racial grounds continue, with the NAACP drafting a resolution this week condemning the movement for tolerating racist statements made by its members. On today’s Hardball, Chris Matthews had NAACP President Ben Jealous on to explain what has the group so upset, and what instances of racism convinced them to draft the resolution.
Jealous opened by explaining that the NAACP did not have anything against the political statements of the Tea Party– it was the affiliates of the Tea Party movement that made racist statements that offend them, and they have no seen enough of an effort by the Tea Party to distance itself from those groups:
“We aren’t taking issue with the Tea Party itself. What we’re taking issue with is the perpetual tolerance for racist and, you know, and racist statements by their own folks. And they, you know, they need to just come out and say once and for all that there’s no place for bigots or– bigotry in our ranks and then back it up.”
Matthews asked Jealous about signs found in Tea Party movements with racist puns and illustrations, which Jealous agreed were a part of the reason for the NAACP’s attack, as well as the Tea Party’s relation with the Council on Conservative Citizens who say, according to jealous, that “black people are not genetically equipped to participate in democracy,” and similar groups.
He also noted Sen. David Vitter’s recent declaration of support for conservative groups willing to question President Obama’s citizenship status in court, and the continued presence of the birther movement. “They use this rhetoric,” Jealous explained, “‘take back our country’– as if nobody else belongs to the country… they question the nationality of people of color from the president all the way down. And it’s deeply, deeply disturbing.”
