TRUMP ENDORSED BY JERRY FALLWELL JR &  JOHN ROCKER:

CONSERVATIVES & OTHER VOTING BLOCS SUPPORT TRUMP.

2016 VOTERS ARE VERY ENTHUSIASTIC ABOUT TRUMP'S CAMPAIGN.

Jerry Falwell, Jr., the evangelical leader and president of Liberty University, endorsed Donald Trump's 2016 bid Tuesday, calling the GOP front-runner "a wonderful father and man who I believe can lead our country to greatness again."

In a statement issued just days before the critical Iowa caucuses, Falwell, the son of the late Rev. Jerry Falwell, also called Trump a "successful executive and entrepreneur."

Trump, who is leading polls for the GOP nomination nationally and in the early-voting state of Iowa, issued a statement after Falwell's announcement, lauding the leader for his support.

"It is truly an honor to receive Jerry's endorsement. Not only is he a high-quality person, with a wonderful family, whom I have great respect for — I also consider him a very good friend and his support means so much to me," Trump said.

News of the endorsement was first reported by The Washington Post.
Falwell's support had generally been expected since Trump's sunny visit to Liberty University last week.

During his speech at the Lynchburg, Va., Christian school, Trump was repeatedly praised by Falwell, who called the thrice-married bombastic billionaire a "breath of fresh air" and compared his blunt style to that of Martin Luther King Jr. and Jesus Christ.

Falwell also suggested that presidential candidates should not be judged on their religiosity, noting that his father was criticized for supporting Ronald Reagan, a divorced Hollywood actor, over Jimmy Carter, a southern Baptist Sunday school teacher.

His enthusiastic support signals that Trump's efforts to appeal to evangelical Christians — an important Republican voting bloc in Iowa and nationally  have been successful.

The endorsement is Trump's second big one in as many weeks. Last week, he received the support of Tea Party champion and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, another favorite among evangelicals.

Both announcements are simultaneously seen as big losses for Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, who is running a close second to Trump in Iowa.
Separately, Trump was also endorsed Tuesday by disgraced baseball player John Rocker.

In an interview with The Daily Caller, Rocker, who infamously dissed New Yorkers in a 2000 hate-filled interview, said he was “absolutely” supporting Trump.

“I think he has really woken America up,” said Rocker, who is best known for his venomous rant in the January 2000 issue of “Sports Illustrated,” in which he spitefully attacked New York’s minorities, gays and immigrants.

“Nowhere else in the country do people spit at you, throw bottles at you, throw quarters at you, throw batteries at you and say, ‘Hey, I did your mother last night — she’s a whore,’” Rocker said then. “I talked about what degenerates they (Mets fans) were, and they proved me right. Just by saying something, I could make them mad enough to go home and slap their moms.”
“It's the most hectic, nerve-racking city. Imagine having to take the 7 train to the ballpark, looking like you're (riding through) Beirut next to some kid with purple hair next to some queer with AIDS right next to some dude who just got out of jail for the fourth time right next to some 20-year-old mom with four kids,” Rocker said of New York. “It's depressing.”
